Chapter 12

That evening, after my shopping spree, we’re all gathered at the table eating dinner. Watching them interact with each other proved to be a bit difficult for me. It reminded me so much of my family that I was fighting back tears. My mom always had this rule that we all had to eat together as a family. The moment we sat down at the table we were to leave all our problems behind and be the loving family she knew we were. Each night we go around the table and recount our day. It sounds cheesy, but it was actually one of the best parts of my day. Andy seemed to notice how distracted I was and grabbed my hand under the table, squeezing it in silent support.
