Chapter 13

Hardin

It was lunch break and I had just finished my brunch. I cleaned up my plates as usual and made my way out of the dining hall. l was on my way down to Panda dining hall to peek at Pearl as usual.

Having known that Evelyn was the reason why she had been avoiding me, my heart yearned more for her.

I was almost approaching the hall when I bumped into Jayden.

"Come see this. Jose is at it again," Jayden yelled.

"That asshole! Where is he?" I asked.

"In Panda hall," Jayden responded and I followed him.

Jose is a notorious bully. He and the gang leader; Charlie, are well known throughout the school. Both are siblings and the children of one of the Citadel's benefactors. They are therefore above the law and Mrs Hopkins could not get rid of them.

My eyes spat fire as I rounded the last corner that led to the dining hall. I beheld Jose's arm wound around Pearl's waist, he was kissing her like a ravenous beast and the other students were cheering.
