Eve

The bus finally left New Halo heading down to North Bravil.

Outdoor streetlights gave way to dark, sprawling highway lanes, but the knot in my stomach refused to loosen.

I looked at the girl sitting beside me. She looked entirely human, dressed in a faded denim jacket and black jeans, her expression completely calm as she adjusted her seatbelt.

“Who is she?” Zee’s voice whispered inside my head, her wolf spirit alert and suspicious as she tried to make sense of this woman.

  • The Alpha's Seventh Luna    Caught Up

KOLTON The chaotic noise of sirens, shouting humans, and running security guards filled the main concourse of the New Halo bus terminal. I ignored every bit of it, stepping past two city guards who scrambled out of my way as I marched straight through the double doors leading into the central administration office. The security supervisor jumped up from his desk, his face turning pale as I kicked the door open and stepped into the small room."Hey! You can't be in here!" he yelled, reaching toward his belt radio.I grabbed him by the front of his shirt, pulled him out of his rolling chair, and shoved him toward the wall. "Open the footage for Bay 4. Right now.""Sir, that is private city property—""Open it," I growled, my voice low and flat as I pointed at the banks of black-and-white monitors mounted on the wall. "Or I will tear this console off the floor."The man trembled, grabbing his mouse with shaking fingers and pulling up the camera feeds for the long-distance departure plat

EveThe bus finally left New Halo heading down to North Bravil.Outdoor streetlights gave way to dark, sprawling highway lanes, but the knot in my stomach refused to loosen.I looked at the girl sitting beside me. She looked entirely human, dressed in a faded denim jacket and black jeans, her expression completely calm as she adjusted her seatbelt.“Who is she?” Zee’s voice whispered inside my head, her wolf spirit alert and suspicious as she tried to make sense of this woman.‘How did she spot us? Is she one of them?’"I don't know, Zee," I thought back carefully, keeping my eyes fixed on the girl's side profile. "Stay alert.""You look like you're about to jump out of the window," the girl said quietly, turning her head to face me. "Relax. If I wanted to turn you over to the hunters or that heavy Alpha back at the terminal, I would have done it before the doors closed."I swallowed the dry lump in my throat, forcing my voice to stay level. "Who are you?""My name is Linda," she said

  • The Alpha's Seventh Luna    Close One

EveThe central bus terminal was a nightmare of noise and confusion. Hundreds of humans packed the boarding lanes, shouting over delayed schedules as heavy exhaust fumes filled the humid air. I adjusted the hood of my dark jacket, keeping my head down as I clutched my single travel ticket to the neutral border town past North Bravil.“He is here, Eve,” Zee’s voice panicked inside my chest, her wolf spirit thrashing against my ribs with terrifying strength. “The bond is burning! He is close!”"Keep it down, Zee," I thought back, my heart hammering like a trapped bird against my chest. "He cannot scent us through this crowd if you stay quiet."I pushed through the glass double doors toward Bay 4, where the long-distance coach was idling. Just as I stepped onto the concrete boarding platform, red emergency lights began flashing across the ceiling. Sirens wailed overhead, drowning out the loudspeaker announcements."All passengers remain where you are!" a heavy voice boomed through a mega

  • The Alpha's Seventh Luna    A Run For Dear Life

EveI barely slept for the rest of the night. Every creak and sound in the hotel had my heart slamming against my ribs. The second the first light of dawn filtered through the curtains, I grabbed my travel bag and slung it over my shoulder.I needed to get out of New Halo immediately.I stepped into the second-floor hallway, keeping my steps quiet as I moved toward the central staircase. The hotel was dead silent, the carpet muffled under my boots. I reached the lobby and walked briskly toward the front desk, holding my breath. Two men in black jackets were standing right by the glass exit doors, talking quietly with the front desk manager. My stomach dropped. Jason’s hunters hadn't left. They had set up a defense team around the entire building.I tried to turn around quietly toward the side exit, but the floorboard under my boot gave a loud squeak."Hello, ma'am! Please hold on a second!" a rough voice called out.I froze, squeezing my eyes shut for a second before turning around wi

  • The Alpha's Seventh Luna    Alpha Rage

KoltonI dropped flat onto the gravel behind the rear tire of my Bentley as a second spray of automatic fire punched holes straight through the passenger doors. "Return fire! Cover the flanks!" I roared over the deafening noise of the gunfire. My men raised their pistols, leaning around the edges of our damaged trucks to fire back into the high grass across the two-lane road. Muzzle flashes lit up the dark tree line opposite us every split second.*These are not from Romeo,’ Wolf growled inside my mind, his instincts sharp and alert.‘Their shootings are messy. They can only be of one kind and source.’He was right. A sudden realization hit me as I leaned out, firing three rapid shots into the shadows. These were members of the Blood-Claw faction—a ruthless group of rogues I had chased out of our surrounding lands four years ago. Before my pack rose to power, those bastards had terrorized, robbed, and extorted every smaller pack along the border, claiming the entire territory belonge

  • The Alpha's Seventh Luna    Distraction

Kolton "She is in North Bravil," I chanted repeatedly.I slammed the brakes, the tires sliding on the dirt shoulder before coming to a complete stop beside four running security trucks. High-powered flashlights swung through the trees as my men swept the area along the road to North Bravil.I threw my car door open and marched straight into the tree line, my boots crushing twigs and dry leaves underfoot.Calvin rushed over to meet me, holding a black leather travel bag in his gloved hands. "Kolton! We found it about twenty yards off the pavement. It was hidden under a pile of bushes."My heart pounded against my ribs as I reached out and took the bag from his hands. I unzipped the main compartment, pulled out a thick coat, and lifted it to my face.I took a deep, sharp breath through my nose.Nothing."Reject it," Wolf growled instantly inside my mind, his voice loud and aggressive. "That is not our mate's scent. It was planted here to waste our time."My jaw locked tight. I dropped
