Chapter 52 - A Wolf in Rescue

Amelia's POV

I stand weakly in the centre of the wolves. My knees give in to fear as I drop to the floor. The wolves circling me barks viciously with snarls as one of the them pounces next towards me. I shut my eyes, accepting my fate as a snack to the wolves. I can't remember if I'm still breathing.

I open my eyes at the right time to find a large muscular dark wolf, counter-attacking the first wolf. The second wolf splits the first wolf into two and it drops to the floor as its thick gore splatters even across my face.

I hold my breath as the wolf that had just emerged roars — growling loudly at the other three wolves. Confused, I try to understand if this second wolf is actually protecting me or trying to claim me as his own snack. The thought of it sends my breath racing as the second wolf which is the largest of all the wolves cuts and rips the other three wolves almost in a blur... before I could blink.
