I kept my eyes on Jeremy throughout the dinner. I didn’t want to lose him, because he was the only one who could help me at that moment. Because I knew my bags would be checked at the border, I didn’t bring any feminine products. Even the skincare products I brought were unisex. But I couldn’t bring sanitary pads. It would be even worse than being found with female-oriented skin care products.

I needed to ask Jeremy to get me pads. There are different convenience stores in the pack; it wouldn’t be hard to get me one. I hope that by that time, the following month, I’d be out of the pack already.

“Hey,” I waved at Jeremy the moment I saw him about to get into the elevator. He was with Logan and Nathan, so they halted, turning to face me.

I scratched my neck nervously. “Can I speak to Jeremy for a few minutes?”

Jeremy pointed a finger at himself, and a questioning look appeared on his face. “Me?”

Did I stutter? I nodded, shining my eyes brightly at him.

I saw the same look Logan had back

I’d been away from the pack, driving for almost two hours, but I couldn’t shake off the uneasy feelings I’d woken up with. It started the previous night, nagging in the back of my mind. And the more I drew closer to the NIS, the stronger it got. Kate hadn't replied to my email.I pulled over at a rest stop and grabbed my phone, scrolling through my messages. Nothing. No missed calls, no texts, no emails. The last communication I'd had from her was over a week ago. I hadn’t even gotten a chance to tell her about all that’d happened between Logan and me. That wasn't like Kate. She was meticulous about staying in contact, especially when I was on a mission. Even when she was busy, she'd send a quick message to always check up on me. It only stopped when she said she wasn’t sure if her calls and texts were being monitored by the director. And that was why we decided to start conversing when she was off the clock. I opened my messages and typed quickly.Me: Kate, I'm on my way back to

AubreyI stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my wig for what felt like the hundredth time. My bag was packed, the tracking device tucked safely in my pocket. Everything was ready. So why did I feel like I was leaving something important behind?I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. I had a mission to complete, a director to confront, and a life to reclaim. Logan and whatever happened between us at the spring could wait.Had to wait.A knock on my door pulled me from my thoughts."Come in," I called out.Logan stepped in, his expression carefully neutral. "Ready?"I nodded, slinging my bag over my shoulder. "As ready as I'll ever be.""Good." He gestured toward the door. "I've gathered some of the senior pack members in the main hall. I'm going to make it seem like I'm assigning you an official task, so no one gets suspicious about why you're leaving.""Smart."We walked down the hallway in silence. The tension between us was thick, suffocating. I wanted to say something, t

  • The Alpha's Undercover Mate   Letting Her Go

LoganI arrived at the spring thirty minutes early. I couldn't help it. My wolf had been restless all day, pacing back and forth in my mind ever since I sent that text.I stared at the water, watching the moonlight dance across its surface. What was I doing? Aubrey was leaving in two days. She had a life to get back to, a dangerous situation to handle. And here I was, asking her to meet me in the middle of the night like some lovesick teenager. But I couldn't help it. Ever since her confession this morning, ever since I saw her real face, her real eyes, something had shifted inside me. My wolf knew what it was and had been trying to tell me for weeks. I just hadn't been ready to listen. The sound of footsteps made me turn. And there she was.Her hair was down, flowing past her shoulders in thick waves that caught the moonlight. Without the contacts, her blue eyes seemed to glow in the darkness. Fully mesmerizing and ethereal. She was breathtaking."You came," I said, trying to keep my

  • The Alpha's Undercover Mate   Fear

I was almost at my office when my phone beeped in my hand. It was a text from Logan. Without hesitating, I opened it.Logan: Let's meet at the spring behind the pack house, where Jeremy saw you about a month ago. You don't have to come in disguise. And take off your contacts, too. I love your eyes. 1:00 a.m.I chuckled after reading the message. It wasn't hard to tell he struggled with putting his sentences together.Of course, I'd be there. There were a few things I needed to put straight with Logan. The rest of the day dragged on painfully slow. Every time I looked at the clock, only a few minutes had passed. I tried to focus on the paperwork Logan had assigned me, but my mind kept wandering to what he might want to talk about.By the time dinner rolled around, I could barely eat. My roommates noticed."Are you okay?" Lucas asked, staring at my barely touched plate.I nodded quickly. "Just tired, I guess."Steve raised an eyebrow. "You've been staring at that piece of meat for ten m

  • The Alpha's Undercover Mate   Her Eyes

Jeremy once told me I’d be shocked to see Aubrey’s eyes. He didn’t tell them the details, and I never asked. He didn’t warn me that I could get hypnotized. I’d seen people with blue eyes, but Aubrey’s own were on another level. Her eyes were captivating and gorgeous, so I was too stunned to speak. “Why is everyone looking at me like I’m being weird?” Aubrey’s voice cut through the silence. “I only took out my wig, please.”I shook my head slightly. “Your eyes…”I failed to complete my statement because words failed me. Aubrey brought her hand to her face, slightly touching her eyes. “Oh,” she muttered. “I shouldn’t have taken my contacts off. It does send people off.”I could sense the nervousness in her voice. Did she misquote me?Nathan cleared his throat. “It’s fine. We were just a bit surprised, since we didn’t know you’ve been wearing contacts all along.”“Sorry,” she said, lowering her head as she tried to fix the contact lenses. “You can be yourself here,” Jeremy stated, hi

  • The Alpha's Undercover Mate   Aubrey

No one dared speak after his command. Not even I. I didn't have the gut to speak when Logan was angry."You can't leave, Aubrey," Logan said, his voice still filled with anger but a bit softer. It wasn't the time for that, but I still loved the way my name rolled off his lips.I folded my arms over my chest. "You can't tell me not to leave."The room went silent again."I don't know why you are being like this, but I promised to protect you," Logan's voice cut through the silence.I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. "Because I'm your mate?""Yes," he replied, drawing a sharp breath."Then reject me," I retorted. "That would make it easy for everyone."The words hung in the air like a sharp blade. Jeremy's eyes widened, and even Nathan looked uncomfortable.Logan's face went completely blank, which was somehow worse than his anger. "What did you just say?""You heard me," I said, forcing my voice to remain steady even though my heart was racing. "Reject me. That way, you can marry Jan
