LISA'S POV

I stare at him. "You want to help me?"

He steps on the gas pedal again, zooming past everything in a blur. "To take down the society, yes."

I continued to stare at him in a state of shock. I wasn't expecting that from him. I rack my brain trying to figure out why he had made that decision. Jonas- whatever his last name is was a man of mystery. I mentally rub my face. I watch him from the corner of my eyes, his jaw was set in a hard line. He wasn't messing with me.

"You know it's treason to go against the Council, right?" I know he knew that but I wanted to ascertain he knew what he was getting himself into. If he was willing to risk his life fighting my cause.

He scoffs as he takes his eyes off the road for a moment. "Of course I know that, woman."

"Are you going to ever stop making fun of me?"
