LISA'S POV
I stare at him. "You want to help me?"
He steps on the gas pedal again, zooming past everything in a blur. "To take down the society, yes."
I continued to stare at him in a state of shock. I wasn't expecting that from him. I rack my brain trying to figure out why he had made that decision. Jonas- whatever his last name is was a man of mystery. I mentally rub my face. I watch him from the corner of my eyes, his jaw was set in a hard line. He wasn't messing with me.
"You know it's treason to go against the Council, right?" I know he knew that but I wanted to ascertain he knew what he was getting himself into. If he was willing to risk his life fighting my cause.
He scoffs as he takes his eyes off the road for a moment. "Of course I know that, woman."
"Are you going to ever stop making fun of me?"

LISA'S POVAt midnight, we pull into a motel's parking lot."I'd like to get a room with double beds. Is that possible?" Jonas says, holding out a wad of cash.The man behind the counter nods his head and smiles. "That would be seventy dollars for the night."Jonas tosses him the wad of cash. "Keep all of it, I don't know how long we'd stay. See it as an advance payment."He hands us a plastic key and shows us to our room. The room smelt nice and the bed sheets looked clean. I immediately head off into the shower to take a long bath when I was done, I snuggled into bed. Erik laid out flat on his, I surmised he wouldn't be taking his bath and I couldn't blame him; he had driven for over twelve hours. I roll over to the end of my bed and turn off the night lamp. LISA'S POVI stare at him with my mouth wide open. My mouth remains open as he stands up and heads over to place an order, the menu list in his hand.The villain of the storyI didn't believe it but did he have any reason to lie to me? If what he had said was true, that means he would be the worst villain ever recorded in history by a mile. He could also pass for being a pathetic villain too.Naturally, from the little I know, Jonas is far from Pathetic. But if he were the villain of our unpredictable story, why would he save my life? Not once or twice, I stopped counting at three. Or was there a fourth time? Since I was dirt poor to afford a television, I had relied upon comics books to give me the same thrill and I had never read about a villain who acted the same way Jonas was. He even killed someone affiliated with the Council for my sake.

LISA'S POVThat night as I lay down in bed, I pull the covers of the bedsheet up past my shoulders and bury my head deeper into the pillow to get a little bit of warmth. The motel room is freezing. The air conditioners in the room were really working effectively. Extremely well in fact. I was guessing Jonas had something to do with it, the motel room wasn't as cold as this yesterday.All the same, I was grateful. I look out the window, the moon was shining brightly tonight, I hope it was a sign of something good. I tried to guess the time without looking at the clock chiming adjacent to my bed.
