CHAPTER 12

LISA'S POV

Groaning, I open my eyes. I had fallen asleep on the comforter, much to my surprise. I remember the events of yesterday and I shuddered at how close I was to death. There was no time to wait anymore, we had to strike while the iron was still hot but Jonas was waiting for the right time, there was no right time.

I push myself off the comforter and stumble into the bathroom, I had forgotten to take my bath last night and my body was smelly. I was glad Jonas wasn't here, he would have surely made a crude remark.

I couldn't help but think about who Brandon really was, I had trust issues and the only reason I trusted Jonas was that he had saved my life thrice. Jonas said he could be trusted but I found it a hard pill to swallow, I needed to be on guard. I was done with surprises for now at the very least.
