Sienna's POV

Two full years had passed since the snowy night my sweet twins were born in Gideon's cozy cabin, and our tiny home in the woods had grown into a strong, safe town for all the good people who had nowhere else to go.

I stood near the main wooden gate with a heavy leather belt around my waist, watching four tall fighters lift a thick log into place to make the outer wall even stronger. My body was strong and healthy now, because I spent every single day working hard in the fresh air.

  • The Alpha's Unwanted Heir   Chapter 33

Sienna's POVThe sun was going down behind the tall mountain peaks, painting the sky with pretty colors of orange and dark purple. The cool evening wind blew softly across the stone courtyard of the Bloodmoon castle, bringing the smell of burning firewood from the big kitchen chimneys. I stood beside our wooden wagon, helping Gideon fold the extra woolen blankets so we could keep our children warm during the chilly night ahead. My hands moved smoothly and quietly, but my mind was very busy thinking about everything that had happened during our long day in this strange castle. My sweet four-year-old twins, Leo and Maya, were starting to get very sleepy after playing so quietly inside the covered wagon for hours. Maya rested her head against a big soft pillow, her little eyelids growing heavy, while Leo softly hugged his carved wooden wolf toy close to his chest with a cute little yawn. I knew they needed a warm bed, a good meal, and a quiet room to sleep in before we packed our bags

  • The Alpha's Unwanted Heir   Chapter 32

Valerie's POV Four long years had passed since the day Alpha Jaxson Vance threw me out of his heart and canceled our big wedding plans, and I was still forced to live in this dark stone building like a forgotten prisoner. My beautiful silk dresses were old, my gold jewelry had lost its bright shine, and the other pack members whispered mean things behind my back every single time I walked down the stone hallways. I used to be the proudest and most popular woman in the whole southern pack, but now everyone treated me as if I were nothing at all.I stood by the glass window, looking down into the big castle courtyard where the evening shadows were growing long and dark. I was holding a small silver hand mirror, looking at my pale face and the angry lines around my mouth, wondering how my life had gone so terribly wrong.Suddenly, my sharp eyes caught sight of a group of strangers standing near the big wooden supply wagon down in the yard.A tall woman wearing clean leather armor and a

  • The Alpha's Unwanted Heir   Chapter 31

Sienna's POVThe cool autumn air felt sharp against my skin as I stood near our big wooden wagon, double-checking the leather straps on our travel bags to make sure everything was tied down tight for our trip tomorrow morning. The loud courtyard had become a little quieter now, because many of the visiting leaders had gone inside the grand hall to eat their warm dinner, leaving only a few pack guards standing watch near the iron gates. My four-year-old twins were still sitting cozy and safe inside the covered wagon under the warm woolen blankets. Leo was quietly humming a sweet little song while he played with his wooden wolf toy, and Maya was resting her dark head against a big goose-down pillow, fast asleep after our long, busy day. Hearing their quiet, peaceful breathing made all the heavy stress in my chest float away into the cool wind, reminding me that no matter how strange or scary this stone castle felt, my sweet children were completely safe with me.Gideon walked over fro

  • The Alpha's Unwanted Heir   Chapter 30

Sienna's POV I walked out from behind the quiet stone alcove where Jaxson Vance had knelt in the dirt before me, keeping my chin high and my steps strong and steady. My heart was beating a little bit fast against my ribs after hearing his desperate words, but I did not let any worry or sadness show on my face. Four full years of working hard in the cold northern mountains had taught me how to keep my mind calm and clear, no matter how difficult things got around me.As I walked across the smooth stone floorboards toward our big wooden wagon, I saw Gideon and Bram standing together near the horses. Gideon had a worried look on his weathered face, his amber eyes watching my every step to make sure I was okay, while Bram had his hand resting loosely on the hilt of his heavy sword just in case someone tried to bother me."Is everything all right, Sienna?" Gideon asked softly as I stopped right in front of him, adjusting my green cloak over my leather armor."Everything is fine, Gideon,"

  • The Alpha's Unwanted Heir   Chapter 29

Jaxson's POVThe heavy wooden doors of the grand hall slammed shut, but the scent of crushed mint and fresh rain still lingered in the cool air around me.My heart was beating so fast against my ribs that it felt like a trapped bird trying to break free. I stood in the middle of the quiet room, staring at the empty doorway where Sienna had walked out just a few seconds ago. My hand was still burning from the sharp, golden spark that had snapped between our palms when we shook hands across the table. She had tried to pretend that nothing happened, but I knew the truth now. The ancient magic of our true mate bond was still alive, pulsing deep beneath our skin like a quiet fire that would not go out."Jaxson," Beta Caleb said softly, stepping up beside me and resting a steady hand on my arm. "You need to take a slow breath. The pack elders are watching you.""I do not care about the elders," I growled, my deep voice trembling with raw, unstoppable emotion as my golden eyes flashed in th

  • The Alpha's Unwanted Heir   Chapter 28

Sienna's POVThe large wooden meeting hall was completely silent as I unrolled the thick parchment map across the polished surface of the oak table. The cool autumn air coming through the open window felt clean against my skin, carrying the faint scent of fallen leaves from the courtyard outside. I could feel the intense, glowing gaze of Jaxson Vance burning directly into the side of my face, but I kept my shoulders straight, my expression calm, and my fingers completely steady. Four years of living in the wilderness had made me strong, and I was not going to let the man who once broke my heart see a single flicker of fear or weakness in my eyes.Jaxson sat at the head of the long table, looking like a man who had just seen a ghost walk out of the dark forest. His broad shoulders were stiff under his dark leather vest, his dark hair was slightly messy, and his golden eyes were bright with shock and unshed tears. I could hear his heavy, uneven breathing echoing across the quiet room
