Ch 2

Elora on the other hand didn't react even a little bit and it wasn't because she was different from the other girls or that she didn't see the reason why Drew was so popular amongst girls. Rather, it was because she tends to do her own squealing and jumping internally.

Like every other girl in their pack, she had a massive crush on Drew but he was her best friend's boyfriend so she couldn't be caught ogling him or drooling over him like everyone else does.

" What the hell Elora?! Gina's been calling your phone and you're just sitting over there acting like you didn't see it!" Celine said.

" Uh...I'm sorry. I kind of zoned out for a while." Elora said, getting up from the chair while Celine just looked at her with a slight frown on her face.

" I don't even know why she makes me handle everything that has to do with you," she muttered and turned on her heels as she started going back into the house.

" What the hell are you waiting for?" She asked, tucking her red, wavy hair behind her ears and glaring at Elora with her green eyes. Elora stared at her pretty but fierce face, wishing she could look like that but she quickly looked away when Celine's glare grew fiercer.

" I'm sorry but could you just tell Gina that I don't want to party?" Elora asked, avoiding Celine's default glare.

" Unbelievable" Celine scoffed, " you think this is about you? No, this is about Gina. Tonight is the night that she's foolishly thrown a party welcoming Drew back from his summer holiday at god-knows-where"

" I thought it was his birthday today?"

" It is you numbskull, I was gonna say that until you thought you knew everything," Celine said and rolled her eyes when she saw Elora's apologetic look.

" Sure it's his birthday but Gina thinks that since he's turning nineteen today he'll be able to tell that she is his mate and I cannot just handle how delusional she sounds because there is a very huge possibility that it won't be her," she said, pacing up and down and then groaning in frustration when she finished speaking.

" Okay... but...why are you t-telling me this?" Elora asked, trying her best not to stutter too much because this was the most she's talked with anyone except her mother.

" Because Drew is gonna be here soon and we both know it's you she'll listen to more than me. So, tell her not to get her hopes up...at least."

Elora looked at Celine. Her body was vibrating so much and it was so obvious that she was furious about the matter but Elora knew it wasn't for a good reason. Celine covets what Gina has - popularity as Drew's girlfriend. But Elora also knows what it's like whenever Gina starts bragging about how high the chances are that she will be Drew's Luna. Still, it was not enough reason for Celine to ask her to be the one who gets Gina to shut up about it. As far as she was concerned, Celine was trying to set her up because telling Gina something like that when Drew is a few minutes away from his house would cause Gina to be in a foul mood and if Drew sees Gina upset the person responsible is as good as dead.

She knew she had to refuse so she took another deep breath and started, " I'm sorry. I feel the same way about the matter too. I mean, I think she should not get her hopes up but we both know that it would be a disaster to discourage Gina about what she hopes could happen, especially when Drew is minutes away from here. I can't be that friend, sorry Celine,"

Celine's eyes narrowed in obvious displeasure before she scoffed. " Whatever, she's getting rid of you after tonight anyway," She said with a smirk before she flipped her hair and turned around to leave.

" Wait what?"

" Oh yeah. I mean she hasn't spoken to you in like months so did you really think she finally invited you over to become close again? It's all a ceremony for her to gloat when Drew arrives and declares her his mate and future Luna. Just thought you should know." she said and suddenly the house erupted with incomprehensible cheers and greetings, followed by very loud music.

" That must be Drew, we have to go," Celine said, pulling Elora with her as she entered through the backdoor and walked past a few people who were dancing and jamming to the music being played. It didn't take long and they were already in the sitting room where everyone was currently wishing Drew a happy birthday as he entered the sitting room flocked by his clique of friends, all of whom were Betas. An Omega couldn't dare be present at this party, Drew forbade it. It was part of the reason Elora didn't want to be inside with the rest but not exactly the reason.

As Drew flashed the hottest smile Elora had ever seen on a man at everyone standing there, she forgot her fears and stared lovingly at him. Drew stood in front of everyone, towering over them while looking irresistible in his simple white T-shirt and jean pants.

She sighed, realizing he'd gotten even bigger over the holiday and his hair was still long and thick, she had extreme fear that he would cut it while on his holiday in Hawaii but seeing that it was so long and lustrous made her feel relieved.

As he stood there searching for Gina with those blue eyes that Elora always found herself so drowned in, she sighed again because he doesn't even know who she is and that is because Gina never let her tag along with their clique.

As one of his friends grabbed his luggage and set it aside, Drew just looked at the decorations and his eyes glimmered with obvious pride at the way he was being worshipped by his peers.

" Oh my gosh, Elora sit down. Don't ruin my moment!" Gina said, snapping Elora out of her obsession with Drew and making her realize that Celine had pulled her to where Gina was sitting down. Gina was waiting for Drew to notice her and then make the big reveal of her being his mate. Celine quickly pulled Elora so that she would be seated beside her instead of Gina and even though she scratched Elora's wrist in the process, Elora just sat down calmly and sighed, preparing to mind her own business throughout this whole thing.

" Where's my girlfriend? I know she did all this." Elora heard Drew say loud and clear for everyone to hear. He started to walk through the path everyone was making so he would find Gina where she sat and crossed her legs, acting like she didn't just organize this whole thing for him.

" Babe, come here," he said with a big smile when he reached where she was. Immediately, Gina dropped the act and threw herself at him. They were both laughing excitedly and Elora watched as Drew grinned from ear to ear while he and Gina were talking and whispering things in each other's ears. She could tell that Drew really likes her because he wasn't the type to smile much, yet here he was grinning like a lovestruck idiot.

It hurt to watch them in each other's arms but what hurt, even more, was when they started making out passionately while everyone cheered.

" Calm down Elora," she said to herself as she looked away and tucked her hair behind her ear, a habit she was fond of doing whenever she is nervous. " All that is left now is for him to say that Gina is his mate and then you'll leave, go to your house and cry yourself to sleep. You never stood a chance anyway," she said to herself again, breathing unsteadily as she waited for Drew to say those words to her best friend.

The only thing is, it didn't happen. Drew didn't say anything like that to Gina. Elora opened her eyes and noticed how everyone was silently looking at her with unbelief and shock written all over their faces. Her heart started pounding violently as she wondered if she'd said those words out loud while Drew and Gina kissed but when she saw Drew standing a lot farther from Gina and a lot closer to her, she got terrified and she was sure that she spoke her thoughts out loud for everyone to hear.

Drew's eyes were locked on her like a target. She was certain that he had smelled her and known that she wasn't supposed to be there but his eyes glowed as he looked at her.

" Unbelievable!" Someone was heard exclaiming in the silence that ate up the room.

" Drew, what are you doing?!" Gina shrieked and pulled him away when he sat beside Elora who was trembling under his gaze but Drew resisted Gina and remained seated. His eyes were still glowing just by looking at Elora but it wasn't the fact that Drew's mate was Elora that shocked everyone, it was the fact that she didn't have the same reaction as Drew, her eyes did not glow! and there was only one reason for that. A reason Elora had managed to hide from people for so long - she was a human.

Elora's first thought was that this was all just a terrible mistake so she tried to make everyone realize it too but just as she was about to speak, Drew moved closer to her and stared at her as though she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.

" I'm sorry but this is a mistake, I'm not a -" she started to say but Drew took her by surprise and kissed her in front of everyone. Her mind told her to push him off of her and tell him that he is confused because he cannot be mates with a human, but her body was far stronger than her mind so she started to kiss him back. She had no idea how long they kissed, all she knew was that Drew Summers, the future Alpha of New Moon pack was kissing her in front of probably the whole school!

Their kiss was cut short when someone pulled Drew off of Elora and he was surrounded by his friends, Caleb, Asher, and Damon who kept trying to get him to snap out of whatever hold they believed Elora had over him.

" Drew close your eyes!" Asher was saying and then he used his hands to close his eyes when he saw that Drew would not close them. The struggle to keep Drew's eyes closed was a short one, he stopped struggling with Asher, and eventually when Drew opened them again, they were back no normal. That was when he realized what had happened.

Elora was beyond frightened by the look he gave her. She knew she was done for because Drew could smell that she wasn't even an Omega, she was worse - a human! She had no idea what he would do to someone worse than Omega so she just covered her face and begged him not to hurt her. But that would not be enough to save her from the wrath of Drew Summers, New Moon pack's next Alpha.

The moment Drew got a hold of himself his eyes darkened because he knew his wolf had lost control and made him do something stupid judging from the way everyone was looking at him and the petite, platinum blond girl sitting beside Celine. He had no idea who the girl was but what he did know was that her scent was foul and totally out of place. She was a human!

He looked at Elora from her head to her toe, wondering how on Earth he just declared a human his mate and most importantly, what a human is doing among wolves.

" Who are you?" he asked, releasing himself from the grip of his friends and taking a step further to where Elora sat.

" I-I'm Elora," she said, unable to look Drew in the eye because she could tell that he had sensed that she was human.

" And why the hell are you at my house?!" he barked, sending everyone who was sitting beside her scrambling as they did not want Drew's wrath. Even though he was loved by everyone, they knew better than to let Drew's anger get transferred to them and they also knew when not to mess with Drew and this was that moment.

" I was invited" Elora responded. This time, her voice was shaking and her whole body was trembling as she sat on the couch and looked at the floor wondering how she would get out of this mess.

" Invited?" he asked and then he scoffed, " Why would a wolf invite you to a place where you are not welcome, who would be so foolish to do that?"

Elora could tell where this was headed. Drew does not know her and he thinks she is a human spy. She summoned the courage to look at Gina as an answer to Drew's question. Drew looked at Gina and she shook her head, denying what Elora was implying while Elora watched in horror as her so-called best friend denied knowing her before everyone.

" Gina, but you're the one who invited me here today! Celine, you know about it right? Tell him the truth." Elora begged desperately but Celine also denied knowing her.

" That's it, they all said they do not know you. That means you're a spy." Drew said, brushing through his thick, brown hair with his hands as he took in a deep breath.

" Unless you all want to die, I'd suggest that you tell me who is responsible for this piece of shit standing in my living room right now!" Drew announced angrily as he turned around to watch who would take responsibility for Elora's presence.
