Violet's pov

I couldn't shake off the fact that something about Lyra's death was suspicious.

Asides the fact that Xaden believed she had been killed, I sensed it was deeper than mere eyes could tell.

"What's on your mind, child?" Mama's voice jolted me from my thoughts.

"Lyra. Her death." I answered.

"Don't be perturbed about one who is already underneath the ground, child. Focus on the life breathing inside of you." Mama said.

"You don't understand, Mama. In the Veil Gate that night when she called out for help, there had been a very strong presence, which I felt." I explained.

"Leave it, Violet." Mama snapped.

"You know something, don't you? What is it? Tell me." I asked, desperate for an answer.

"There's nothing to tell. That child was a good one, although I know some people had a tight leash on her." Mama had said.

    Violet's pov"He's here." Hunter voiced."Who? Xaden?" I asked in bewilderment.His eyes locked with mine for a moment. "Aye."
