A witch

“What?” I blinked, looking at her like she just swore that she was going to take my life away or something.

“Oh you know, it must have been tough for you” she smiled, tilting her head to the side. “I don’t think it would be nice to just let you be without eating. Plus I have not seen you eat since I came here.” She said, bringing in a tray of food that made my mouth to water.

“You did not have to” I said again, dragging my eyes away from the plate even as my stomach rumbled.

“Oh come on” She said, placing the tray on my lap. “Don’t be difficult, now, eat” She gave this cynical smile that sent shivers down my spine.

“I really do appreciate it but. I am not even hungry I just..” She was already picking up a piece of spoon full of porridge, as though she wanted to shove it down my throat, then I threw it.

She moved back almost instantly, the food everywhere on the floor with a very stunned vallery in front of me. She blinked, looking at me like i had grown another head.

“Are you out of your mind!!! I spent hours preparing that and…”

“What is going on here?” Ronan said, rushing into the room. He looked around before his gaze settled on me, “Were you hurt?” He said, his gaze not fixed at anything else except me

“Ro love” Her voice a complete change over, shocking me to the core “I just… I tried to give her a tray because I was worried she has not eaten all day, and she just…” I was shocked, watching tears roll down her eyes.

“That’s not… She was trying to..”

“Anya” Ronan called, looking at me with those stern eyes that instantly shut me up. He looked like he had a lot of things to say but he let out a sigh.  “Rest up a bit, we would talk about this later.”

“But Ro love, I was..”

“This should be the last time you would as much as take a breath in the same direction as she.” He said, finally, for the first time since he entered this room, he regarded that she existed.

I watched her face fall. She most definitely was sure that Ronan was going to defend her. Her face grew red almost instantly, looking at me with something that shook me to the core.

“Good night Vallery” Ronan all but shoved her out.

“Thank you” I said, when it was only us in the room. He nodded. “I should get you something though, she kind of did have a point.

“It’s fine” I stopped him, the maid, same woman from last time coming in to clean up the mess.

I could not help but notice the scar on her left cheek as she came inside, giving me the usual nod before she started to clean. It was silent, dead silent as she cleaned but i felt my heart race.

“Was it because of me? The scar on her face?” I asked as soon as she stepped out of the room, not even letting her close the door properly before the question fell out of my mouth.

“Yes” was all he said, leaning into the chair while he closed his eyes.

I blinked, my gut twisting as he did not even bother to deny it.

“I thought she help you escape. It was misjudgement which I compensated her for later” He said like it was still okay to hurt people.

I gulped, not wanting to say anything.

It could have been the fact that I wanted curse him out but I still valued my life enough to keep my mouth shut.

“What are your likes and your dislikes” I looked at him for a while, 

“The scar was deep. It’s a miracle you did not gauge out her eyes with how deep of an injury that was” I said, shocking myself.

“Honestly? I was going to. That’s how much I do not take lies or someone taking what is mine. So…” He said, leaning back into the chair “What are your likes and dislikes?”

I let out a sigh. It was pointless to even bother talking to him about it. “I love flowers, any type really, especially the bright ones. And I hate violence” I watched his eyes snap open as he looked at me, a look of disbelief flashing across his face before it became emotionless again.

What about you?” i said after it got quiet again, trying to get rid of the awkward silence between us.

“I have not found anything I like. But then lately, I have been fascinated by you, if that counts. And I hate witches.” I watched as his face darkened as he said it, like we were some plague that he had to get rid of”

“Why?” my voice got smaller as my throat tightened a bit.

He shrugged, “Reasons I am not comfortable sharing.

“Ahh”

“Your room should be ready by tomorrow, I am sure you do not feel comfortable in this place.” I nodded, shaking my head absentmindedly as i looked around.

“I know we are done with this conversation but..” I laughed nervously. “Let’s say I was a witch, what would you do about it?” His gaze turned murderous, I could clearly see his wolf push to the surface as I said that, making adjust myself even though there was enough space between us.

“Are you one?” His voice sounded different at this point, nothing like what I heard about since I got here.

“God no!” I said, almost yelling. “It was just a curious question that’s all” I laughed, the nerves running through my veins. He looked at me for a very long time, as though trying to get the answer out of my head.

“Good, then let’s stop thinking about such…” I nodded, deciding that it was best to change the topic as soon as possible.

“When would you like to complete the mating bond between us?” He said out of the blur shocking the hell out of me, my eyes nearly falling out in the process…
