Wesly

Bella and I entered the Ballroom, and it seemed to me that all eyes went to her. Maybe it was my imagination, but I had to admit she looked amazing in the teelength floral dress and heels she'd chosen. She had her long hair halfway pulled up, letting her curls cascade around her face and down her back. I wasn't even jealous. Instead, I was proud to be the man who had her by his side.

I put my hand on the small of her back and guided her into the crowd. Her eyes automatically fixed on my painting that has hung over the fireplace since 10th grade. It was a scene of a lazy river, surrounded by low-lying trees, at dusk, with two wolves sitting peacefully together, looking at the water. I had envisioned my parents when I painted it.

"That is your painting." She said to me, sure of herself. I could see the light bulb when it came on over her head. "The artwork at the tattoo parlor is yours, isn't it?"

I shove my hands in my pockets. "It is," I confessed. "You want to know a s

  • The Alphas Prize Blood Mate   ~Chapter-123~Look who it is.~

Annabella If I had known all a girl had to do was take a bullet to get the kind of affection I've gotten over the last 48 hours, I may have considered it sooner. Minus the hole in my side and the forsaking pain, of course, being pampered by my mate has been blissful. I am concerned about Cat, though. I know Wesly and Layla think I have taken a ride on the coo-coo express, but I know I heard her, I felt her. 'Anna, I am still here. I will never leave you.' Cat tells me. 'Cat! I thought you were dead!' I exclaimed, opening my eyes. Wesly is asleep. I closed them again and put my face back in my cocoon. 'Where have you been?' 'Recovering, I stopped the bullet that was heading for our heart.' She tells me with pride. 'I didn't save us for nothing.' 'How, Cat? And how did you know they were in trouble?' I asked her rapidly. 'Never mind all the details. Annabella, you need to get up now.' She tells me very motherly. 'You've been lying in this bed beside our mate for over two da

Wesly 'You did good, Wesly,' Kota tells me. 'It's not your fault. Nothing would have stopped her from trying to protect us.' 'First time I've ever wished she didn't love me so much.' I returned with a heavy sigh. I know he's right, but it doesn't make accepting it any easier. I shower, dress, and return to the hospital to relieve my mother and sister. The nurses have Bella propped up in the bed to keep her from lying flat on her back. She is trying to bury her nose in the fold of the blanket. "I know it looks uncomfortable, but she needs to stay vertical for now," Layla tells me. "It will help the blood to clot faster." Without another thought, I removed my shoes and replaced the pillows in front of her with the real thing. Bella didn't open her eyes, but recognized my scent immediately. She inhaled me deeply, and a smile came across her face as she snuggled into my chest. It was the best compliment I have ever gotten. "That's even better," Layla says. "The good news is that

Wsely I stepped out of the hospital's sliding glass doors, took my phone out of my pocket, and hit the speed dial to reach Jake. I proceeded to walk away from the hospital back toward the treeline. "Afternoon, Alpha?" Jake answered. "You on the way home yet?" He asked cheerfully. "No, Jake, everything ok your way?" I asked him, hoping he didn't pick up on my current stress level. "All is quiet and secure around here, except for the buzzards eating old Brett." He added with a chuckle. "How goes it with the fam?" "Where do I begin?" I said with a low growl. "Henry Stone is here. He knows about Bella, and he claims she is his mate. I want you to double the patrols on all our borders until further notice. Bella found her sister, through a safe home my mother operates only to discover she's strung out on meth. It's gonna be a few more days before we get home." "Whoa, wait, what?!" He asked, confused. "Slow down, Wesly." "Don't think about it too much, Jake, it will only give

Annabella I could hardly believe it when I saw Maggie get off the bus. I shouted to the driver to stop the shuttle that we were on. He wasn't quick enough about it. I pulled away from Wesly and jumped off the still-moving cart, making a beeline for my sister. Wesly calls me back through our minds, for the first time, I ignored him as I kept running. I was so happy to see her. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her close. Immediately, she began to fight against me. "Maggie, it's me, Anna," I told her right before she slapped me hard across the face. "Don't touch me bitch!" Maggie shouted at me. "Are you ok, Luna?" The hospital guard asked me as he quickly restrained her, placing her hands behind her back. "Yes, I am fine. Don't hurt her!" I yell at him. "She is my sister. She doesn't know what she is doing." Before long, the whole Harris clan had all piled up behind me. Wesly promptly steps between Maggie and me as William does the same with Layla. Wesly lifts the ha

Wesly "You look lovely," I tell Bella, standing behind her in front of the full-length mirror in my bedroom. I wrap my arms around her and kiss her face. "Do you want to stay one more night, or do you want to go home?" "I want to go home." She says quietly, overlapping my arms with hers. The day's weight is already heavy on my shoulders before we even leave the room. Bella is doing her best to give me her strength. However, I can feel her sorrow and grief as well. She is fighting her own demons. It had never occurred to me that she feels incomplete because she never got this necessary closure with her mother's passing until now. I pull her closer as we settle into the shuttle that will take us to the gravesite. 'It will be over soon.' I tell her. We are seated on the front row, directly in front of the casket, along with the rest of my family. My other grandpa, Henry, and Paps have been close friends for years. My mother, g-ma, and uncles had chosen him to give my Paps' eulog

Wesly She glares at me defiantly but finally tosses her shoes to the floor and comes back to the bed. I take her hand into mine again. "I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to feel responsible," I paused, exhaling deeply. "Stone told me tonight you are his fated mate, we won't know for sure until you get your wolf." "Well, I say he is not!" She said with flared nostrils. "I already have a mate." "Yes, you do, nothing has changed between us. I should have been honest about the attack from the beginning." I placed her palm over my heart, holding it beneath mine. "Stone or any other man no longer threatens me where this is concerned. Once you get your wolf, we will face him together when you reject him." Her eyes filled with tears, "I am glad you have finally realized you are stuck with me, Wesly Harris! So what are we going to do until then? Do you think he will attack us again? What if he doesn't accept the rejection?" She rattled off. "I doubt he would attack with us
