Chapter 36

Alaric's POV

"Where are we going now, babe?" I asked Ava, my voice holding some sort of curiosity.

I was starting to get so many questions in my head, so I decided to get answers by quizzing Ava but she remained silent. Instead, her hand remained firmly latched onto my arm, while we took further steps.

I stole a glance at Ava, and tried to search for answers in her eyes, but it was obvious that she was making an attempt not to entertain me, by acting like she was lost in her thoughts. I pinched her gently, with the hopes that it would help to get her to talk.

Still, no words left her lips. I couldn't help but wonder why she was acting this way and ignoring my questions.

My brows furrowed slightly but I kept following her, even though I was tempted to stop and return to the pack.

“Babe?”

I made another attempt to get her attention but she still didn't respond. She dragged me down several flights of stairs and I nearly stumbled once.
