Chapter VIII

After wandering the land, the lost boy decided to go back to the elves. He almost forgot about Amorivia.

"I wonder how her face will look like," he thought and giggled when an image of Amorivia all red in anger flashed on his mind.

The moment he arrived, a little elf screamed of his arrival. A familiar lady with a decent dress had came running towards him. His proud smile had gone wider at the sight of Amorivia's face.

"You promise breaker! You said you'd come for me!" Amorivia yelled at his face.

He leaned a little back. "Didn't I? I brought you here to get dressed. You were sleeping so I went out," he explained.

Amorivia's eyes narrowed at him. "Put me in trouble again and I'm staying with the elves!"

The lost boy knew she was mad but she looked cuter when she is.

"You've come back," the princess bowed down to him and he did the same.

"Yes, I won't be long. I'm going to take the lady with me too."

What he said saddened the princess. She had to think of some way to make him stay and so she came with a brilliant idea. "Why don't Amorivia stay with us for the meantime. I mean she likes the fur balls so much and she hasn't explore the kingdom yet."

The lost boy looked at Amorivia, his stare was like speculating her reaction. He sighed when he saw her smile at the princess. "No! I will not allow her to stay in your kingdom."

Amorivia's eyes widened and then her stare turned into a glare. "I make my own choice! You don't decide when I want to stay!"

The corner of his mouth lift up.

"Really? Do you not want to find Peter?"

Pouting, she thought really hard. She can ask the Princess for help but it would be embarrassing to ask such favor.

"Can't we stay even just for two days or so? I have not seen the whole kingdom and I'm curious!"

Scratching the back of his neck the lost boy thought about it for quite some minute. Surely the elf princess, Selena wouldn't kill Amorivia but what if the lady grows close to this kingdom? Then his mission will not be carried out well.

"Alright, we'll stay two more nights and after that we leave," he decided.

Amorivia's face immediately brightened, excited to be inside a castle. But then unfortunately, the princess only let them stay in the nearest elf house. Why? Because she was a nobody to the princess and now her hopes for a dang castle is over for the night.

"Oh don't worry! She'll be inviting you first thing in the morning," said the lost boy.

"Yes! You just made me feel so much better!" her face remained grumpy.

Now, she's even stuck with the lost boy inside the house. Come to think of it, the princess invited the lost boy to rest inside the castle but not her! Wait-- does the princess like the lost boy?

Upon realizing that, she glances to see the lost boy. He was just carving something with his dagger, nothing likable with the guy plus he's an idiot.

"Hey lost boy?" she called.

"Hmm?"

Not even looking at her.

"Do you even know your name?"

It stopped him from carving. He put down his wood while pointing the top of his dagger closer to his chin.

"I don't know my name. I've been here for too long."

"So you don't have a name?"

"I do."

"What is it?"

"I forgot."

"Tch," she scorned, looking outside the window again.

See? why would a princess like someone who even forgets his own name? She really hope she finds Peter soon.

The thought of Peter had lifted her mood and she smiled uncontrollably, remembering how Peter brought her in this adventure.

After quite a while, the lost boy noticed how the lady had fallen asleep, her head resting on the a small space near the window. What a sleepy head, the boy thought.

So, he scooped her in his arm, bringing her to her room, and put her down. Then, he tucks her inside, noticing how the furball had open it's eyes to see the lady.

"Have you said a word to her?" he asked, not even bothering to gaze up.

"I'm afraid I said 'warm' in excitement."

"Did the princess say anything?"

"She despise the lady. It might have been best if she didn't stay here at all."

"What's a life without the danger?" The lost boy smiled. "After two nights, you must come with us."

"The princess will charge me of betraying the Kingdom--"

"And that terrifies you?" When he heard no response he continued. "We'll be on our way to carry a mission. To protect her, for her to remember her name when her adventure is over. She has to go back."

"You mean to the real world?"

"Where else does she belong?"

After his talk with the furball, he went outside their elf house. When he heard a calling, he flew somewhere in the elf woods. In front of a boy about his age, he bend one knee, bowing his head down.

"Captain, I've led her this far."

"Just carry your mission and don't let your feelings interfere."

Of course he keeps his feelings in check! This is his only chance to bring back the name he had lost. And this chance, he can never afford to lose.

"Yes, sire."

The glowing wings of the angel in front of him spread wide. This was the angel who took his name because he believed in such fairy tales. Now look at where he is! Stuck being a nameless boy in this realm where everyone calls him the lost boy.

And just like that, the angel flew away from him. If the lady will end up the way he ended up, then he'd just feel sorry for he can not let his chance be taken.

The next morning, when the lost boy awoke, the lady was not in her bed anymore. He sighed heavily when all he saw was a note and dear him! He forgot how to read!

Over the castle, he flew above, narrowing his eyes in search of the lady. And at the wide garden, he saw her with the elf princess. She was happily touching each rose, smelling them as she happily exclaims her thoughts.

The corner of his mouth lifted when he saw her that happy. But when he realized it, his lopsided smile faded. A smile is bad, he thought, flying away from the elf Kingdom.
