I considered the older wolf sitting across from me. I had been so rushed during the intake of the rogue refugees before the haze that he hadn’t caught my attention. His meeting request had gone unfulfilled for over two weeks after the mass induction. I had been overloaded with settling the new members into the pack in the aftermath of the haze, as well as recovering from the battering I had taken when Hades tried to break free from the cells.

            “I need to speak with Selene, urgently.” He said, an aura of power flowing through his words. “When she didn’t return my calls, I assumed she must be here, with you. You are her mate after all.”
