Compiling the list of our company's partners was easy. It was contacting all thirty of them and inviting them to the banquet that took a while.

It would've been easy, if Richmond didn't have me running around like a headless chicken the entire time. He wanted to have most of his work done before we left for Paris, which meant I was running around delivering documents and passing on messages and typing contracts and retyping them later on and on top of that I also had to attend all his meetings

  • The Assistant's Choice.     Twenty seven.

You know how they say that sleeping with your collegues is bad and you shouldn't do it? And how sleeping with your boss is an even bigger grey area and shouldn't be done ever? Well, if they don't, they definetly should. They should have a whole guidline about the do's and don'ts of developing sexual relationships in the workplace and more specifically with your boss. Things between me and Richmond have been...no better way to discribe it beside awkward as hell, from my perspective anyway. Richmond seems to be unfazed by the whole thing, in fact I'd wager that he's probably even forgotten that it had happened entirely. He acted no different than he had before, that same stupid nonchalant attitude that grates on my nerves. I guess maybe, I should've been more cool about it, he was right, we're both adults and adults can have casual sex without it ruining their work relationship right? except, I couldn't stop thinking about it, about him, and about that night. it's all so very pathet

It seemed that I might've been way over my head, thinking that I could pretend that nothing had happened between Richmond and I, and if anyone ever needed a reason to not sleep with their boss, here's one, It's humiliating as hell. Especially if your boss is a stoic nonchalant like Richmond. He seemed unfazed and was his usual cool self, which irked me more than it should. I mean, if the guy you'd slept with wasn't the least bit hung over or at least a bit fazed after the act, anyone would be upset, angry even. Richmond seemed like it'd never happened at all and I was torn between feeling bummed out and glad that we could go on as usual and my job wouldn't be on the line. Either way there was nothing to get worked up over. Richmond had made it clear that it could not and will not happen again and I totally agree with him, a hundred and ten percent agree with him. It was drunken mistake that had no business happening in the first place and I wouldn't want it to happened again because

My head was pounding with the force of an unforgiving hangover. My hands wrung together in my lap as my heart pounded roughly in my chest. The bathroom was thick with the fog from my shower. I sat on the edge of the counter with my back to the mirror as the veins in my forehead throbbed with the severity of the headache. I'd slept with Clark Richmond. I'd slept with my boss. My fucking boss and it was the best sex I'd had in a long time. No, scratch that, it the was the best sex period. After the sex, we'd both been sated and a little too drunk to think of going back to our rooms. I wish I could've said I'd hightailed it out of his room as soon as I'd regained a semblance of consciousness, but that wasn't what happened at all. Sometime during the night, we'd both stirred from sleep.I'd found myself staring silently at a sleep dazed Clark, my groin swelling as the seconds tucked by. Then he was on top of me, gazing down at me with furrowed brows, as if just the site of me confused

"Mr Richmond...""Clark. Call me Clark dammit." He scolded breathlessly, his eyes fixed on my own bruised lips. "Clark."He nodded. "Yeah." His voice sounded strange, unlike I'd ever heard from him. low and sultry, it made my body shiver and a certain part of me perk up. I flushed, his hand came up to cup my face, his rough thumb rubbing cheek. "I'm sorry." He whispered.I shook my head. "No, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have-""Shh...I meant." He chuckled. "I'm sorry, but I want to kiss you again, and again, and..." His eyes bore into mine, sparkling with lust. "If you want me to stop just say the word."My breathing was laboured, his face so close to mine. My mind hazy from the alcohol, but my skin was flushed from something else. "Don't stop." "Are you sure?" I gazed up at him. He was anyone's wet dream come to life, of course I was sure. I nodded wordlessly. He gave a single nod and stood. He held out a hand to me and I took it without a second thought. He lead the way to his room an

"Who was that guy?" I asked as soon as we got into our suite. Richmond dragged his feet over to the bar in the far right corner of the living space. He took a crystal jug of amber liquid and opened it, forgoing the cup and just taking a large gulp out of it. I cringed, setting down the bag of leftovers on the coffee table. I moved to stand next to him at the bar. "You shouldn't be drinking like that." I told him but made no move to reach out and grab the jug. I wasnt that stupid, the man was twice my size and could easily grab and twist my arm. I wouldn't put it passed him either, seeing his mood. He took another large sip, his eyes closing at the burn of the alcohol on his tongue and throat. "You probably enjoy seeing me like this, don't you?"I frowned. "Like what?" "This." He gestured to himself. He had taken his jacket and tie off, and rolled the sleeves of his white dress shirt up. He looked hot, but I knew he wouldn't want to hear that. "I don't know what you mean sir." He c

We arrived at the dinner party a little bit before the dinner was served. Richmond had said it was better to be a little late to things like this, so as to get straight to business and skip the chatter, but I honestly thought he just wanted to make a scene. The dinner party was being held in the garden of one of the largest estates I'd ever seen. The main house alone was big enough to be considered a castle, It probably was honestly. The garden was decorated with fairy lights and floating lamps, with two long tables decorated for the guests. It was all so formal, with women in long ball gowns and expensive jewelry, and the men in three piece suits and cigars hanging from their lips. I felt a bit under dressed in my loose black pants and white polka dotted blouse, but Richmond had assured me I was fine, he on the other hand was dressed to kill, in his expensive three piece ,dark green suit with faint rose details along the jacket. He'd taken a cigar off a tray someone was passing ar

The next few days felt like a flash montage, the days coming and going so fast, we barely had time to stop and eat. With what little time we had to rest, Richmond used that time to call the company back home and check in with how their end of the preparations were going. I wasn't even sure the man s

It seemed that traveling brought the worst out of Richmond. His hair was a mess from the number of times he'd run his hands through it and I'd lost count of the number of cigarettes he'd smoked in the last hour. Our flight was delayed and we had to wait two hours before we could leave. Brandon had

"The seating plan arrangement for the banquet is not right." Richmond said, his brows furrowed crossly. "We'll have to redo the entire thing by Wednesday." I set the papers I was stapling down. Richmond was still frowning at the papers and I didn't even want to try and remind him that we've redone t

Richmond didn't like the museum.I would've thought that a man of his... Stature would appreciate a place like this but Richmond looked like he'd rather be hit over the head with a large stone and buried alive than be there. I couldn't identify if his disdain for the place was because he lacked a sen
