Four.

A week later and I can say that I at least have gotten the hang of things.

Richmond wasn't a total douche. He just had his moods in the morning, they usually got worse if he didn't have his coffee by eight.

And I found that I was right, he was a man of order, but that wasn't so bad, it did become a problem however when he was stressed out, which he definitely was this week with the deal we had to make for the city mayor.

We'd jumped from meeting to meeting all week, talking to certain people. Me in the corner, typing on the laptop he'd given me. It was a little hard to keep up with at first, but after a few days and hours of doing it, I can confidently say that I at least know what I'm doing.

Today was Friday. We had the meeting with the board and the city mayor, to convince him to sign with us. The more I looked at the papers involving the deal the less I liked it, but Jessica had told me it was none of my business. I kind of thought it was since I would be the one who had to pay extra tax, but whatever.

I stacked a pile of papers on the conference table, right where Richmond was going to sit. Jessica was helping me put out water bottles for the guests.

"I think that's enough." She sighed. "There's coffee for the ones that need it. If they want it, they'll ask for it." I nod, placing my laptop on my desk in the corner, Jessica was going to be here for this meeting. Apparently since the CEO was making an appearance too, she had to be there to take the overall minutes of the meeting.

We sat down next to each other, talking quietly as we waited for the board to come in.

Jessica had proclaimed me her workplace friend since my first day here, which I greatly appreciated, because even if everyone here was polite, it seemed like everyone here had their own clicks and little squads whom they hung around work with, they made it clear that they didn't have space for anyone new.

Ten minutes later, the door slid open and Richmond along with four older men followed behind him. Those must be men from the board. We stood and Richmond greeted us, introducing us to the four men who took their seats. Richmond sat to the left of the head of the table, where I'd placed his documents. He leapt through them as he made small talk with the men.

I leaned over to whisper to Jessica. "When do you think the CEO will get here?"

She shrugged, going through her own formats for the minutes on her laptop. "They're the ones greeting the mayor." I nodded, then frowned. "They?"

She looked up, a small smirk on her lips. "Yes doll, they. We have two CEOs. Didn't you know?" I didn't, Richmond hadn't exactly done anything to get me acquainted with anyone or anything around the company. Though, to be fair to him, we have been very busy with the deal and I could pass it off as him just having no time.

"No, Richmond hadn't really said anything." I grumbled. Jessica sighed, leaning in closer.

"Essentially, there's not much to it. We have two CEOs. The company was past down to them by their father and they've been running the company for a few years now." Is all she said, before leaning back and typing on her computer.

I was about to ask her what else she knew, when the door slid open again and I recognized the mayor immediately. He slid through the door and we'll all stand. Two people walked in behind him and I did a double take when I saw who.

It was the man I'd met in the hall on my first day, only … two of him. There were two of him, exact carbon copies of each other. I felt my mouth drop open, and Jessica elbowed me in the side.

"Stop drooling, or everyone will notice." She winked, stifling a smile. I rolled my eyes and wiped my mouth for good measure.

I'm guessing these were the two CEOs of the company. I inwardly groaned. Oh my god! I'd bumped into the CEO of the company like he was a traffic cone. What were the odds of me being fired if Richmond heard about it? A 100? A 150? Yeah definitely 250.

I was so fired if he heard about this.

Two hours later, the meeting ended.

We didn't get the deal.

I felt bad that I was happy about that, but I also had a feeling Richmond would be at least a little excited about it too. Over the week he'd mumbled and groaned about how much he didn't like the deal. He didn't think it was practical—which it wasn't—but the board thought it was a great idea and had pushed Richmond into handling the deal proposal.

I sighed, as I saved my work on the laptop, Jessica had already left, but I couldn't leave until everyone was gone so I could pick up all the water bottles and file all the papers.

The mayor had left in a slight bad mood, after bashing every single member of board for thinking of such a disgustingly, stupid idea—his words not mine.

"Sam!" I was startled when I heard my name being called, I looked up and saw Richmond standing at the entrance, with the CEO's. I gulped as he motioned for me to go to him.

Groaning quietly, I got up, closing my laptop before making my way over to him.

"Yes?"

He gestured to the two men beside him, they glanced at me and the twin in the black suit grinned when he saw me. Ah, so he's the one I bumped into. The other twin wore a gray suit and he was frowning at me. I tried not to let it show how much he unnerved me. They were significantly younger than everyone on the board, younger than Richmond even. "These are the CEO's of the company. I apologize, I have not spared the time to get you acquainted with anyone." I fight off the snort, and nod. He gestures to me. "This is my new assistant, Sam Elliott." He gestures to the one that was still frowning at me. "This is Brandon Crawford–'' thenl to the twin I'd bumped into, he was still grinning at me. " —this is Bradley Crawford, also the one that wrote the review on the magazine website." He says. I blink in confusion. Mr. Bradley looks at Richmond weirdly.

"You mean—"

" —Yes, this is the man you got fired, because of your stupidly impulsive act." Richmond growled, rolling his eyes. Brandon looks at his twin confused. I'm just as confused, well maybe not confused, just … in a nutshell I guess?

Mr. Bradley looks at me, having the decency to look sheepish. "Well I—"

" —Why would you get someone fired from their job?" Brandon cuts him off, looking rightly pissed off. Bradley looks at his brother, and shrugs.

" —I wasn't thinking—"

" —That's right, you don't think!" He snapped, breathing sharply before he turned to me, looking awfully apologetic. "I am terribly sorry for my brother's actions. I hope you find it in you to forgive him." I honestly couldn't find it in me to be upset with him at all.

Richmond rolled his eyes. "It's fine, he has a better job now." He says and I side eye him, wanting to tell him off for speaking for me. Brandon nodded, still not looking satisfied, but he let it go.

I've started to notice the difference between them already. Brandon seemed like he was always frowning, in other words, he had a resting bitch face. His brown hair was styled in the same cut as Mr. Bradley, but it was a lighter shade of brown, I wonder which one of them was dyed.

I smiled at them. "It's fine really, Mr. Richmond is right, I have a better job anyway." That seems to appease Brandon and I see his lips tilt up a bit, but then he frowns again. Bradley looks accomplished, he grins devilishly at his brother.

"See? He's fine." He looks at me, his devilish smile still intact. "For the record, I am terribly sorry, if I'd known someone would lose their job for it—actually, if I'd known you specifically would've lost your job, I wouldn't have done it." He winked and I think my cheeks darkened further.

Richmond hummed. "Yes, that was lovely." He says deadly. "But we have other matters to attend to. Sam needs to meet more people. We'll see you some other time." The twins nod, sparing me a glance before they leave the room.

I shifted on my feet, glancing up at Richmond, who was now looking at his phone. "You know, you could've been nicer. They're your bosses."

"And I'm yours, yet you still don't filter your mouth when you talk to me." He said. "Besides, they're used to it." He looks at me. "Get your laptop, we've got work to do." He says, holding the door open. I sigh as I pick up my laptop and follow him to the office.

Working here was going to be interesting.
