Chapter 27

Amanda's POV

After Emma left, Vince turned to me, his face impassive, yet his eyes were filled with emotion. I was again spellbound by the sincerity in his eyes. We were now seated at a bench, enjoying the cool nighttime breeze. 

I shivered a little, and Vince scooted closer to me. It just felt right, being here together with him and enjoying the silence. 

Yes, this was exactly where I wanted us to be. For all the drama with Emma and her confession, it was worth it. I sighed.

"I'm so sorry." He apologized, but I wasn't sure what for. He had no need to be sorry, as it was not his fault at all. 

"It's okay." I smiled. At least the problem got settled and we could really move on. At least in terms of who we could be with. If Emma had meant what she had said, I guess everything is fine. 

I had something to say but decided to wait till tomorrow to gauge his response. I just had to ask him. About the file. Did he know about it?
