Chapter 29

In the confines of the car, my heartbeat sped up instantly, taking control of my mind. Blood pounded in my ears. Oh no, it must be turning red by now. 

The fact that Vince was here made it even more uncomfortable. I needed to be alone. This was such a rude shock. I can't believe he is back, and he never called. 

My shaking hand still held my phone. My fingers felt so weak, I could drop my phone anytime.  Suddenly, I felt nauseous and wanted to throw up, my head feeling numb.

I swallowed and glanced down, not wanting to alarm Vince. The car felt so small all of a sudden, almost suffocating. I shifted uncomfortably against the plush leather seats.
