In fiction, I’d often heard the idiom ‘if looks could kill, I’d be six feet under’. Today…I finally understood the meaning of those words as I tried to look at anything in the room but at Brandon.
“There, all done.” The doctor stepped away from the bed to put away her equipment and to wash her hands as a nurse helped me down from it.
My arm was now all bandaged up and it didn’t hurt anymore, thanks to all the medication I had been given. But what I was worried about most was explaining this to Aunt Kathy. What exactly was I going to say to her?
