Seeing my dad again, after so many months, was the most joyous feeling for me. I couldn't stop hugging and sobbing on his shoulder as he soothed me lovingly in his arms.

"Dad-I am so sorry. It's because of me that you had to go through so much pain and torment." I cupped his bandaged face in my palms as tears cascaded down my cheeks.

"None of this is your fault. Lance and Melissa are to blame." He replied. "I should have never trusted that woman." Regret filled his eyes. "A woman as horrible as her deserves to be punished for her wrongs. Your mother entrusted her with you-" He paused after realising that he had blurted something.

"Is there something you're not telling me?" I dug for answers.

"No child, I don't want you to find out the truth this way-" He avoided eye contact.

"What truth? Please tell me, dad." A plea left my mouth.
