HEIDI POV

My body went completely still.

Across the room, Jace’s eyes found mine. Then they moved—slowly—to Adrian standing too close beside me. His jaw tightened. I watched the exact moment his expression changed.

Tiara whispered, “Oh.”

I couldn’t breathe.

Jace began walking toward us. People shifted out of his way without being asked. That presence of his still worked the same way it always had. My stomach twisted. Adrian noticed him too; curiosity flickered across his face.

He stopped direct

  • The Baller’s Hidden Son   A new person

HeidiI didn’t know what I had been thinking when I let Jace have me again last night. But I knew one thing for certain—if this continued, it could jeopardize everything I had worked so hard to protect. My contract with the Stanfords. My son. The carefully controlled life I had built around Ethan.I couldn’t let it continue. So why did my body betray me every time I was with him?I stared aimlessly at the ceiling, trying to distract myself from the warmth beside me. The sheets still carried Jace’s scent, and the room seemed to hold the lingering evidence of everything that had happened between us.My body ached, reminding me of the night I desperately wanted to forget.I hated how badly I wanted to turn around and press myself against his warmth. I hated even more that some reckless part of me was already wondering how long I could stay before the world outside this room demanded that I face reality.Jace’s arm was wrapped firmly around my waist, as though even in sleep, he had no int

  • The Baller’s Hidden Son   Never let her go

Third POV The kiss deepened, slow at first, then hungry. Jace’s hands slid from her face to her waist, pulling her flush against him. He could feel the rapid beat of her heart through her blouse. When she finally broke the kiss, it was only far enough to breathe. Her forehead rested against his.“This is a mistake,” she whispered.“I know,” he said in a rough voice. “And I don’t care.”He kissed her again. This time her hands rose to his chest—not pushing, just resting there, fingers curling into his shirt. The quiet surrender nearly undid him. He walked her backward until her hips met the kitchen counter, then lifted her onto it in one smooth motion. Her legs parted for him without resistance.Clothes came off easily, His mouth found her neck, Jace trailed kisses down her collarbone, the soft sounds she made driving him harder. When he finally pushed inside her, the sensation punched the air from his lungs. She was tight wet. He stayed buried deep for a moment, forehead pressed t

  • The Baller’s Hidden Son   The Drunken Kiss

THIRD POVJace’s hands were still shaking when he slid behind the wheel. He didn’t remember deciding where to go. He only knew he couldn’t sit still. He drove without destination, city lights smearing past the windows. His mind kept circling the same ugly loop—Adrian on that table, shirtless, gel still shining on his skin, looking at Heidi and that made Jace’s blood boil. The way the bastard had protected her.Adrian and Heidi are being too close lately and it made Jace worry. What if Adrian intends to pursue her and Heidi accepts? Wouldn’t that ruin his chance of getting back together with her?Jace’s grip tightened on the steering wheel until his knuckles went white.Last night felt like proof that something still lived between them. The way she had come apart under him, the way she had clung to him, the sounds she made when he was buried deep inside her—none of that had felt like nothing. But this morning she had looked at him like a stranger and walked out.And now she was letting

  • The Baller’s Hidden Son   Jace’s Jealousy

HEIDI POVThe treatment room smelled faintly of eucalyptus and clean linen. Soft morning light filtered through the half-drawn blinds, striping the floor in pale gold. I stood at the side of the physiotherapy table, hands steady as I adjusted the resistance band around Adrian’s lower leg.He was already on his back, one knee bent, the other extended. The injury that had brought him here—a partial tear in the Achilles that still refused to fully heal—had left him frustrated and restless. I could see it in the tight set of his jaw every time I asked him to push against the band.“Slowly,” I said. “Control the movement on the way down. Don’t let gravity do the work.”He exhaled through his nose and obeyed, the muscle along his calf flexing under my guidance. For a few minutes the only sounds were the quiet stretch of the band and the low hum of the air conditioning. Then he spoke.“How’s your son?”My hands paused for half a second before continuing. “Fine.”“Just fine?” Adrian tilted hi

  • The Baller’s Hidden Son   Ease

HEIDI POVI woke slowly, body heavy and sore in places I hadn’t felt in years. Every shift of muscle reminded me of the night—of Jace’s hands gripping my hips, his mouth on my throat, the way he had taken me again and again until I stopped pretending I didn’t want it. My skin still carried the faint ache of his teeth and the heat of his palms. He was still asleep beside me, one arm thrown across my waist like he was afraid I might disappear. For a moment I let myself stay there, listening to his breathing, feeling the warm weight of him. Then reality returned.I slipped carefully out from under his arm. He stirred but didn’t wake. I gathered my clothes in silence—dress wrinkled, underwear somewhere near the couch, shoes by the door—and dressed in the bathroom with the light off so I wouldn’t have to look at myself too closely. When I stepped back into the bedroom he was sitting up, sheets pooled around his hips, eyes already on me.“Where are you going?”“Home.”He ran a hand through

His eyes stayed on mine.“Heidi.”The silence around us deepened.Vanessa looked between us, confused. Sandra was the first to speak, voice loud and bright. “Is that Jace Stanford? The football star?”Vanessa’s face shifted the second she realized he had come for me.Jace’s gaze moved to Adrian. The two men looked at each other. Something silent passed between them.Adrian spoke first. “Friend of yours?”Jace didn’t answer. His eyes returned to me. “Are you okay?”Of all the t
