Chapter Forty: Playing Ball

Linc's POV

I arrived in Sunrise Cove bright and early. I asked the Sheriff to meet me here. 

"Mikey! Mikey! Get your ass out here now!" I yelled after repeatedly banging on the front door of Clara's home and not getting a response. "Mikey!"

The neighbors are coming out but not Mikey. I can see two cars in the driveway. An old car and Clara's bug. The G-Wagon isn't here. He must have it. 

I pressed the door repeatedly until Clara's mother opened. She looks upset.

"What are you doing shouting and banging at my door?" She questioned me. "What do you want Lincoln?"

"Where is Mikey?"

"It's really none if your business Lincoln. You ceased to be ort of this family when you kidnapped my daughter!"

I disregarded her bitterness.

"And Clara? Where is she?"

"She took a trip to the city."
