Erik’s POVThe explanation my mother gave for someone’s gemstone not shattering was if their bond was too powerful. However, I did damage my gemstone two years ago. If what my mother said was true, then this gemstone should not have broken in the first place. Maybe what she meant was that in such cases, even if you destroy it, it would become whole again.I looked at the gemstone in my hands, it was glowing dimly now, and I feared that Maeve would die soon.
