Denovon walked into Rowland Corporation with heavy steps.

One look at him and it was clear—he wasn’t in a good mood.

His jaw was tight. His brows were slightly pulled together. He looked like a man who had something on his mind, and whatever it was, it wasn’t making him happy.

He was still frustrated. Still burning from the interruption that ruined his morning with Emily.

They had been in the heat of the moment, their bodies close, their hearts racing, when his phone rang. His grandfather.

By the time he finished the call and returned to the bedroom, Emily was already dressed for work. Just like that, the moment was gone. And now, hours later, he still wasn’t over it.

The fire inside him hadn’t cooled. But for now, he had to push it aside.
