We spent our whole afternoon eating some variety of sweets before we settled on the nearby brook and stayed at the nearest tree. My feet were soaked in the water while lying in the grass.
Claude remained standing while his eyes were focused on the bridge that was connected to the next district, the Southside. I wasn't sure what was fascinating about it but maybe he was thinking of a new project for the kingdom.
I stared at the sky while raising and waving my hand. Then I clutched something thinking it was a sword bathed with wolfsbane.
"I want to go to the war," I said out of nowhere. I just want some bloodshed killing some rogues who dare to defy and ruin the order of the kingdom.
Especially Magnius Lothim. I am itching to kill him for having my soldiers killed.<
Let me know what you think of this chapter. :))
We distanced ourselves the moment we arrived at the plaza after the sun was set. We didn't even talk nor speak to each other. How am I supposed to enjoy myself here in the plaza if neither of us is okay right now?I must think of ways to get out of this awkward situation so I could at least enjoy my day off. I don't even know why His Majesty has to follow me here when he could have chosen to leave me here alone.I silently snorted after that.I roamed my eyes around as I saw the lanterns hanging around in the posts with lots of food stalls and some magic shows were set up in the plaza. The place was extravagant and I wanted to stroll around on every corner of this place.I stopped walking when my nostrils smelled something sm
"Here's your coffee, General Rachelle," Jack said the moment he entered my office. He placed the coffee on my desk and I thanked him for that. "Why did you even drink booze if you can't even handle it?" He shook his head.I massaged my temples after sighing. "I only drank one-fourth," I said and took a sip from the cup. "I felt like my head was pounding and someone was punching on my head." I shook my head. "I think I drank more than one-fourth..."I woke up having an overwhelming headache. I am trying to remember if I went on a rampage after taking a drink at that time. I should have listened to His Majesty that I should drink one-fourth of the mug since I am a first-timer."You are being stupid, General."I pouted. "That's a harsh comment. I'm hurt." I faked a painful
"Job well done, General Rachelle, Sir Jack," the supervisor of the Department of Tax Enforcement, Harry Tapley said. "You manage to get this done in less than four days.""Our pleasure is ours," Jack and I said in unison.Harry nodded his head. "I shall make a report to His Majesty. You may now go back to your post, General Rachelle and Sir Jack.""Very well," I said and nodded. Then we decided to leave."General?""Hmm?" I turned at Jack who was beside me."I observed something with you. Would you mind listening to it?" He smiled, fixing his glasses."Of course. What is it?" I'm curious as well. What did he observe from me?
“Aren't you supposed to be working, not being a lovey-dovey here?" His Majesty said through gritted teeth.General Cairo and I knelt before him. "May your anger dissipate, Your Majesty," we said in unison. His Majesty was angry based on the tone he was giving right now. The dangerous aura was emanating from him. One wrong move from us and he could punish us.But how did he get down from the fifth floor? I saw him there. Did he jump or did he use his wolf speed to get downstairs?"I am asking you two. Answer me!"Cairo and I exchanged glances before our eyes settled on the angered Alpha King. I was about to answer Alpha King Claudian when General Cairo spoke."My apologies, Y
In a blink of an eye, Grand Alpha approached me and slapped me. Wide-eyed, I turned at him as I couldn't believe what he just did."Rachelle!" His Majesty approached me and held my cheek where his father slapped it. "Are you alright?" I didn't answer him as I was still shocked by his father's slap. "Why did you slap him, Father?!" He covered me by using his body as a shield for me."How dare you, Rachelle! I trusted you! And I treated you as my daughter yet this is how you do? Lying to me? You even rejected my son!" Then he turned at his son. "You pathetic asshole... Rachelle is your mate all along and yet you never told me?""I can explain, Father... Please not here."Grand Alpha shook his head. "You lied to me... You lied to your people!" he said angrily. He clenched h
In the end, I was forced to stay inside the palace. A new chamber has been prepared for me to stay in. Four royal guards were guarding my doorway, and more than five servants were put on standby in case I needed something. Claude couldn't do anything because his father colluded with the court officials. He kept on apologizing to me until I never wanted to see him. "Your Majesty." I gritted my teeth from the way the servant addressed me. Ever since I transferred her, everyone had been addressing me as Her Majesty. They already forgot that I am a General. "What?" I said coldly. I didn't turn around and stayed to see the scenery here on the balcony of my chamber. "Jack Springer is here to see you."
We were at a long table. I was beside Alpha Storm and Crown Princess Cassandra or Luna Casey. On the other side, across us, was Alpha King, Grand Alpha, and Princess Cherish or Captain Iris. They started conversing about political matters which I wasn't interested in. I remained silent. My eyes were focused on my meal. I never intended to join in their conversation. "I heard you will be joining General Cairo's brigade, my dear Iris." I heard Grand Alpha said. That made me glance at him as he was eyeing her youngest daughter. Her Highness gave me a look as she could already feel that discussing that matter was not good since I am here. I just gave her a reassuring smile that I was fine by it even though it pained me. Hesitant, Her Highness answered. "Um... Yes, Father
What happened to Claude and me on that night spread like a wildfire to the whole kingdom. I don't even know how to make it calm. That was pretty embarrassing.Even though days had already passed, I could still feel His Majesty's lips on mine. I groaned and leaned on my seat. The etiquette class had finished. I couldn't even escape from my work because I was heavily guarded. They knew about my attitude as a General. I don't like this kind of class.Good thing I had nothing to do for the rest of the day. I decided to go to the training ground exclusively for members of the royal family but I turned to Philippians and Silver, the assigned Knights as my guards."Summon His Majesty, Claude. Tell him that I need him as a sparring partner," I ordered.
