The Wolf King

Camille

The man strides in, his aura radiating from him like a second skin. He looks like a predator stalking its prey.

“I understand my brother was brought here?” He raises a brow, then walks towards the desk where I am sitting, and he takes something out of the black cashmere jacket, giving it to the officer.

His voice is calm, but you can see how his eyes darken that he is pissed.

The officer quickly unfolds the document, and then he goes pale. “I apologize. We found him—sorry, sir. He was…” the man stutters, pushing off the chair, then hurriedly walking over to the cell, opening it.

“I understand,” he replies, not bothering to spare me a glance. Salvatore steps out of the holding cell, his shoulders tense and no longer the smiling person he was when he was on me. Naked.

“I apologize for any inconvenience. Please, if…” the wolf king tries to give me an envelope, but Salvatore is already by my side.

“She doesn’t need anything,” Salvatore cuts in when his brother tries to come closer to me. His hand is clenched around my wrist. I try to pull away from him, but he holds my hand at his side. My knuckles brush his very naked thigh.

“Salvatore.” The wolf king says, his voice is barely audible. “Thanks for bailing me out. But I will take it from here.” Salvatore grabs my hand and then leads me out of the police station. People are staring at us. Everyone knows who the wolf king is. They must be wondering what he is doing here.

“What are you doing…You can’t…” I say through gritted teeth as he drags me towards an SUV that’s waiting outside.

 “Salvatore! We need—”

“We can talk once I’m back at the hotel,” he growls, cutting his brother off, and then drags me to the car. I pull out my hand before he can drag me along with him.

“Let me go! I’m not going anywhere with you; you fucking ruined my plans already. I will not let you do it twice,” I growl, then walk away. I need to get back to the restaurant, but just as I was about to leave, my phone chimes.

I pull it out because it’s the emergency tone I set for Elosie’s number. God no!

“El?”

“Camille… it hurts…” she cries, then a thudding sound comes. “Eloise!” I all but scream through the phone. My heart is thundering, and my hands shake as I try calling her back, but no answer. I rush towards the road standing by the curb. I need to head back home.

I hail a cab when someone grabs my hand.

“What the hell are you doing? You can’t—”

He all but drags me to the car, shoving me into the passenger seat. “You—”

“You need a lift, right? Let me drop you off,” Salvatore says, then slams the door. My eyes look through the windscreen of the car, and my eyes meet the wolf king’s eyes, who is staring at me with curiosity.

“The address,” Salvatore turns the screen of the tablet to me. My heart is beating fast as I quickly punch in the address to my apartment.

He starts the car, then floors it. “She is part wolf?” He asks me.

“How do you—”

“Your scent. Explains why you smell like that,” he says without looking at me. How do I smell? Do I smell different? I want to ask him, but I focus on the road ahead of us.

“Yes. She is part wolf. Human mum and Wolf father”

“Has she shifted yet?” he asked.

“No. Not yet.” I say, but he doesn’t say anything, then floors the car. When we arrive in front of the apartment. I open the door before the car stops, and I’m out of it, rushing up the stairs to the apartment. My knees feel so weak, and my heart is pounding so hard.

“El?” I shout immediately when I get into the apartment and I find her small, frail body on the ground, reaching for the phone.

“El!” I rush to her, scooping her into my arms. Her body is feverish, and her breath is shallow. I need to get her temperature down.

“Let me see her.” Salvatore pushes me aside, checking her temperature. “How long has she been like this?” he asks, kneeling beside me.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” I snap, still holding Eloise in my arms.

“How long, Spitfire?” he asks, ignoring me.

“A day,” I say, my voice breaking as I pull her into my arms. “Give her to me.”

“No.” I shake my head. How could I trust a stranger? Why the hell did he even enter my house? I look up at him.

“I can help her, but you have to give her to me,” he insists.

He is a wolf, right? He can’t kill his kind. Right? I think as I let go of her, he picks her up.

“What’s her name?”

“Elosie”

He takes her hand, then says something in a language I can’t understand. She shifts, shaking her head.

“What have the doctors said?”

“They don’t know. They just give her something for the pain every time,” I explain to him, and he nods his head. Speaking to her again in a foreign language.

She shifts, her eyes snapping open; they don’t look like her normal mismatched ones. Instead, they are amber with golden flecks. She growls, then shuts them, her body going numb in his hands.

“What did you do? What did you do to her?” I growl, pushing him by the shoulder, but he doesn’t respond.

“You! You...How…” I hit his shoulder, trying to pull her in my arms, when he grabs my wrist.

“Look at her.” He orders.

My heart is pounding so hard, and tears prick my eyes. I drop my gaze to her, and her color is returning.

“What did you do?” I ask him, taking her in my arms.

“It’s a wolf thing.” He says, shrugging with a smile, cheeks punctuating as he gets up to his feet.

“Cool place you got here,” he says, looking around the room. “Thank you,” I say, carrying Elosie to the bed.

“You should leave.”

“Is that how you thank me for helping you?” he asks, with a smile.

“No. That’s your payment for costing me 300 bucks. Now, please leave.” I point to the door.

“I…in the alley…”

“Get out, please. Thank you for helping her, but I don’t want you to scare her or see you again,” I say to him, and he smiles.

“I think we will be seeing each other again,” he says, then puts his hands in the pockets of his sweatpants.

“I doubt that,” I say, because I plan on leaving this place as soon as I get my money tomorrow.

“Take care of yourself for me, okay?” He turns to me with a smile. My stupid heart thunders so hard, and my stomach twists.

Camille“Do you think this is okay?” I ask, doing a thirty-six in front of Salvatore, while he fixes his cufflinks. He doesn’t say anything but gets closer, snaking an arm around my waist, pressing into me.“I think you look more beautiful with nothing on you,” he whispers, kissing my face and neck. Giggles ripple from my lips, pushing him back even though I just want to be with him tonight.“Come on. We need to get going, or we are going to be late.” I push him back.“I think they can wait if I decide to be with my wife,” he says, dragging the word ‘wife’.My stomach twists, and I can swear I feel butterfly flutters in my stomach as I wrap my arms around his neck.“As much as that sounds so beautiful. Olivia insisted that we have to be early, not to piss off the already pissed off Wolf King.” I push him back, my hand reaching for his tie and fixing it for him.“No. I want to be with you. Just for a few more minutes,” he whimpers, pouting, and I can’t help but laugh, shaking my head,

  • The Beta's Contract Mate   Changes In Me

CamilleI didn’t understand what they meant by knot, but now that I’ve experienced it? I want nothing more than Salvatore inside me every minute. But during the night, he took time to help me shower, then made love to me, ever so gently, then he held me the entire night. But when I wake up in the morning, my entire body aches, and he’s gone.I’m alone in the bedroom, the smell of sex and sweat lingering in the air. I blink back my tears. He didn’t leave. He didn’t leave me alone in this room after the kind of night we had.“Tore?” I call, hoping he might be in the bathroom or closet. There’s an ache between my legs, but that’s nothing compared to how my heart aches. I blink back my tears. Walking to the bathroom, I stare at myself in the mirror. I have hickeys all over my neck, but the one that is a bit embarrassing is the one on my shoulder, where he bit me.I do my business, then quickly take a shower before going to get ready. I keep looking towards the door, hoping he will come th

  • The Beta's Contract Mate   Marked

CamilleMy hands reach for his jacket, pulling it off him, my lips demanding more. I want him. I want every part of him. I leaned into him, ripping the dress off. But his hands reach for the dress I was wearing. Ripping it off my body. “No. Tore, I like the dress.” I whispered. He groans; his voice sounds so feral.“I’m not fucking you with a dress bought by another man,” he growls, his voice gravelly deep as he rips the dress in two. He pulls away from me and rips off his shirt, and he’s on me again, claiming my lips; his hand grips my thigh, lifting it. My hands reach for his curls and yank his head back. He groans in my mouth, and the sound is so beautiful.Sending a chill through my body, pooling in my core. His hand goes between our bodies, sliding into my pants, his finger sliding between my slits.“Fuck Cami…I love how you always are fucking wet for me,” he growls in my mouth. I pull him into me, deepening the kiss. Our tongues tangled in each other’s mouths while my other ha

Salvatore Pavrd, the man who should have brought me here. The man who should be telling me everything, but my body goes still when I look at him touching her face.I shouldn’t feel anything. God, I shouldn’t be upset, but my breath catches, and tears prick my eyes when his thumb brushes her lip. It seems so intimate, and he’s so oblivious to the eyes watching him.“Oh, my god. They look so perfect together.” Murmurs fill my ears as I watch him.“Aww… He’s so in love with her,” another one says, and I blink back my tears.“I would like some air,” I whisper to Leon, clenching tight to my clutch. “You okay?”“Yes. • The Beta's Contract Mate   Eyes On Her

Salvatore“I spoke to Eric. He asked about you,” Jenny says, drinking from her third glass of champagne since we arrived over an hour ago at this ball. But my mind drifts off to Camille and how she looked at me like I was the world to her, but suddenly, yesterday, everything just went crumbling down. I shouldn’t be guilty because this is what she signed up for. When she found out about the ball, she lost it, but the contract was clear that she won’t be seen on my arm at events, so how the fuck do I want her on my arm right now instead of the woman I have spent my life loving? Why does this feel so fucking wrong?“Earth to Turi,” Jenny smirks, snapping her fingers in my face, and I raise a brow.“What?”She chuckles, coming to stand in front of me. “You’re not doing that tonight, Turi.”“I’m sorry, Jen.”“What’s on your mind?” She asks, and suddenly my breath catches. A lot is on my mind, but tonight all I can think about is that brown-eyed woman I left back in my room. But I can’t tel

  • The Beta's Contract Mate   The Wolf King's Date

CamilleI should have said no. I never should have said yes to this whole thing. Now that I stand here in front of this mirror, I just want to go back to my sweatpants and oversized shirts.“Wow! I don’t know whether to hate the wolf king or love him for this,” Olivia says when I run my hands over my curves, my breath catching. The dress hugs my curves so well, and I can’t help but admire myself. I turn my back towards the mirror, then glance at my back, it’s a one-shoulder, sleeveless, floor-length, backless black dress with a ruched back that makes it look like a deep V, which hangs low but not to show my ass.“Sexy” Olivia is beaming with a smile as she gives me a clutch.“I don’t think Salvatore will approve,” I mutter. Not sure if this is a good idea anymore. I don’t know why I went with this place because I wanted to see Salvatore’s face, but now I don’t like the idea.“Let him. He chose that long-legged giraffe over you,” she says, and I burst out laughing, unable to hold back.
