ELIZA’S POV

The moment the private jet landed in the capital, my heart began to race.

My wolf stirred inside me at the familiar, intoxicating scent that filled the air.

Even before I saw him, I knew he was here. Alexander.

As I stepped off the aircraft, my eyes landed on him.

At the sight of him alone, my breath hitched.

He stood tall. His presence commanded attention as usual.

He was dressed in a white button up shirt and black pants. His ocean blue eyes met mine, and for a moment, the entire world faded into the background.

My feet moved before I could think. I was drawn to him in a way I couldn’t explain.

He opened his arms, and I practically melted into them, inhaling his scent. I had never been this happy to see anyone before.

“I missed you,” he murmured against my hair. His lips pressed a soft kiss to my temple.

I tightened my arms around him, savoring the warmth of his body. “Me too,” I whispered.

Alexander didn’t seem like the type for public displays of affection, yet he held

ELIZA’S POVAlyosha’s message had been short but enough to send a chill down my spine.Alexander and I returned to his private study in silence. As soon as we stepped inside, he shut the door behind us, locking out the noise of the palace.“We both know your father won’t change his mind,” I said, forcing myself to speak first. The words were painful but they were the truth. I saw it in Alexander’s eyes—he looked frustrated. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair.“I know.” He said “I can’t believe he thinks you’re a spy. How can he say that?”I paced the room. My mind raced with different possibilities.“There’s no time to dwell on that. If he’s not going to listen to us then we need another way. Because if those reinforcements from the Western Plains arrive before we’re ready, there won’t be a battle. There will be

The outer defenses have been reinforced, and the warriors are undergoing intensive training. The people are rallying, Eliza. They believe in you.”I nodded as I looked at the reports “Good. And the supply lines?”Frederick answered this time “Restored. We have enough resources to last the winter. ELIZA’S POVAfter the final financial meeting of the day, I collapsed into the plush chair behind my desk, exhaustion weighing on my bones. As the Luna of the Crescent Moon Pack, my responsibilities stretched far beyond internal management—I had to ensure the pack’s economic stability, too.It wasn’t easy. No mentor. No guidance. And as a woman, every decision I made was scrutinized. But I had to be strong—because my husband, Derek, Alpha of the second-largest werewolf kingdom, was fighting on the front lines for our people. As his Luna and his strongest supporter, I had to keep the pack safe and stable in his absence. And so far, I’d done well. Then, a searing pain erupted at my mating mark.Since my father and brothers had fallen in battle, the scar had ached under stress—but this was different. This felt like claws raking through my flesh.I winced, pressing a hand to the burning skin—"Luna!"An Omega servant burst in, eyes bright with excitement. "Alpha Derek has returned!"Derek

ELIZA’S POVDerek's fury gathered like a storm, his hand twitching toward my throat—but Maya stopped him."Wait." She pushed past his arm, striding toward me with the smirk of a victor."Luna Eliza," she drawled my title like a taunt, "we both know you're just an Omega now. Your pack is gone. I'd wager the rogue wolves would tear you apart the moment you step outside these borders—""Maya, you're being too lenient," Derek cut in sharply, his gaze turning glacial as it locked onto me. "You should be grateful for this mercy instead of using stubbornness to seek my attention. Face reality."A dark chuckle rumbled from my wolf. My eyes widened slightly—Derek had been gone so long, he'd forgotten.Forgotten my family name.Forgotten who my father and brother had been. He'd forgotten that before I came, his people starved. That under my leadership, the Crescent Moon Pack had risen to become the second strongest in the kingdom. He hadn't even noticed the renovations to the Alpha's estate. My

ELIZA’S POVI frowned as I walked out the room and headed straight for my mother-in-law, Diana’s bedroom.I was pissed that this was happening to me.Not only did Derek want to dissolve our marriage for that bitch but he also planned on making me his mistress. The hell?I could feel my wolf coming out and baring her fangs, wanting nothing more than to tear those ingrates limb from limb.Derek for his betrayal and Maya for her sheer arrogance but I calmed her down. There was no point in attacking them and getting executed for my arrogance right now.I bit my lip, almost drawing blood as I approached Luna Diana’s room, my mind swirling with thoughts.I stopped at the door and knocked like I always did. Once I was given the go ahead to enter, I opened the door and stepped into the room.It was always the same.White pristine walls peppered with golden designs to give an ethereal look but these days the steady beeping of the ECG machine and the sight of a sickly and pale Diana hooked up t

ELIZA’S POVThe next morning had come by much quicker than I had expected, more so because I couldn’t sleep the night before. The act of betrayal and the blatant disrespect I got from not just Derek and his whore but also Diana was too much to bare that it ran through my mind constantly, depriving me of any rest.I huffed and stuffed the last clothes I had into my suitcase and zipped it up, ready to leave the building that Derek and I were meant to call home.I pulled up the handles and rolled the suitcase out of the room, on my way to the lobby below.Just as I got there, my heart set on leaving this place for good, the grating voice of a familiar face called out to me.“Finally, you’re leaving this mansion. It’s good that you know where you aren’t wanted.” Maya spat at me with a smirk on her face, causing me to come to a stop and frown.I wasn’t in the mood for her snarky remarks.I was leaving the pack and never looking back, I didn’t need to reply to her comments. She was nothing

ALEXANDER’S POVI tapped my right foot incessantly as I listened to my subordinates drone off about matters I already knew.I turned my gaze to nothing in particular, wanting to have some time myself but this had to be settled first. After all, military affairs on the battlefield came before my own life. The military camp had been my home for longer than I cared to remember. What began as a carefully orchestrated plan by my father, King Kyle, the Lycan King, to forge me into a capable leader had transformed into my entire existence.Under an alias, I had risen through the ranks, becoming the commander of an army that respected me not for my royal lineage, but for my combat skills and strategic mind.“Sir, the border is almost completely under our control. We’ve managed to push the forces back and regain our lost terrain. All that remains now is to push forward and claim theirs.” One of the men, Bolton, said to me, his eyes bright.“So what are we waiting for?” I asked them, already se

ALEXANDER’S POVThe moment I returned to the capital, I buried myself in royal duties. It was easier that way—easier to pretend I wasn't drowning in thoughts of her.Eliza.Her name was always in my mind. I missed her terribly. My wolf kept clawing at me, calling out for his mate.He demanded that I go back, that I claim her, that I hold her in my arms again. But I couldn't.Not yet. Duty came first, as it always had, as it always would. The grand hall was filled with nobles, generals, and high-ranking officials discussing preparations for the upcoming ceremony. The packs that had distinguished themselves in the border wars were to be honored, and as the heir to the throne, it was my responsibility to ensure every detail was executed flawlessly. But my mind drifted, betraying me.I couldn’t help but think about her.She was always in my mind.I thought of her beautiful eyes, the way she had looked at me, the way she felt in my arms, her lovely scent.Goddess, I was running mad.I coul

ELIZA’S POVI sat at my desk, recalling the messenger’s words. The news was unsettling—dangerous even—and my instincts were already on high alert.“Where is this information from?” I asked him.“It’s from Alyosha, my lady. She sent it directly from the border.”Alyosha. The name hit me.I dismissed the messenger with a wave.Alyosha was a lone she-wolf I had met during my training days.Alyosha was wild, untamed, a free spirit who had no interest in the constraints of pack life. She had always vowed to explore the continent on her own terms, and it was that very defiance that allowed her to gather critical intelligence. As much as I admired her independence, I had always known that trusting her would not be totally good.I couldn’t wait any longer. I grabbed my phone, dialed her number and pressed it to my ear.“Come on, Alyosha,” I muttered to myself, “pick up.”When she finally answered, I sighed in relief.“Eliza,” she said “To what do I owe the pleasure?”“Alyosha,” I said “I rece

ELIZA’S POVThe moment I stepped into the Derek and Maya’s banquet hall, all eyes turned to me.I could hear the gasps in the crowd and their whispers too. I could feel their stares, their curiosity, their judgment, but most of all, their admiration.I was dressed in a long white dress that hugged my curves in all the right places, I walked with slow steps. That way, every eye could see me.I wanted them to see me.The slit on the side of my dress revealed just enough of my leg to tease but not enough to cause a scandal.I paired my outfit with gold heels and just the right amount of make up to make heads turn.White was meant for the bride, but today, I had chosen it for myself. It was my silent statement—I was not a woman scorned. I was not someone that would be pushed aside. The wedding was a disaster.Instead of the elegance expected of an Alpha’s wedding, the grand hall was filled with the chaos of rowdy warrior wolves. They drank expensive liquor in the most irritating manner. ELIZA’S POVThe first rays of morning light filtered through the curtains as I woke up. It was a note from Alexander. My Eliza,You looked so beautiful this morning and it hurt me to leave you but duty calls me to the capital. Know that every moment with you has been lovely, a temptation I cannot resist. I am falling for you, deeper than I ever thought possible. Until I return, think of me, as I will think of you. She was practically begging me to surrender to the magnetic pull between us."Eliza," he said softly, "I can't pretend anymore.
