Emilia POV

"Jett...ison?" My voice broke, barely above a whisper. My eyes widened as I watched my entire body completely frozen in disbelief.

Jettison stood there in the dim wash of moonlight, pinning Motricia against a tree with one hand wrapped tightly around her throat.

"How dare you try to hurt her?" He growls, the sound rumbling from him low, feral, and vibrating through the air like something not entirely human.

His grip tightened so hard around her until her feet barely touched the ground, and I heard the harsh scrape of her nails against his wrist, her desperate gasps escaping through the narrow space in her throat as she tried to plead with him.

"Je...ttison," she choked, clawing hard against his wrist, but he didn’t flinch. His eyes glowed dark red, veins crawling up his neck, dark and pulsing.

The air around us thickened at that instant with his fury, and I saw the veins in his neck pulse even more just as the corner of Motricia’s face began to drain of color while her wris

Emilia POV"Golden what?"My eyes dimmed instantly at his words, my body going still in surprise. The corner of his lips curled, and he pulled away from me slowly, his gaze studying me like I was some kind of puzzle."Oh come on, don’t tell me you haven’t figured that out about yourself yet. You do know you’re no normal wolf, right? You’ve got some cool ability," he said, his tone mocking and confident.I just stared at him like he had lost his mind. First golden eyes, now ability? What the hell was he talking about? Was he high on something… Maybe moonspill?"Look, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t have any powers or abilities. I’m just myself. Let me go," I snapped, my voice shaking with fear even though I tried to sound strong. He smirked again. "You can keep saying that, doll, but until these machines here confirm that—" He gestured toward the monitors lined up on the silver tables. The blinking lights reflected off his sharp jaw. "You’re not leaving here alive. And

Emilia POV"Arrrghh!" I groaned, my voice cracking as I woke up to a throbbing headache, my skull pounding like a thousand drums were playing inside it.I swallowed; the air around me felt cold, and the smell of iron and disinfectant hit my nose almost immediately as I blinked my eyes open only to shut them right back as a harsh brightness suddenly hit me.What the...I fluttered my lashes softly, trying to adjust to the light, my chest heaving in tiny, panicked breaths. It took a few long seconds before I managed to open them again, and when I did, my whole body froze completely.I was somewhere that looked alien in a place that didn't in any way look familiar at all.The walls around me were painted in silver-gray; silver tables with something that looked like a monitor/console with a screen flickering a dull blue light were arranged around the place that looked like a wide room with a clear tube-like wire snaking along the wall.On each side of the silver-gray wall, several glowing

Mortrica POVI stood dazed in the middle of his huge living room, my breath coming out uneven, wondering why Jettison had suddenly run out. My whole body was shaking in fury at how he brushed me off like I was nothing. The rejection burned through my chest until something clicked in my head—only one person could make him react that way.My eyes went wide as the thought hit me.Wait… he didn’t find out already, did he?I was sent here to distract him, to keep him busy just in case he found out. Don’t tell me he actually found out and slipped right under my nose. No, that couldn’t be. But how? My stomach tightened as panic shot through me. My fingers trembled while I pulled out my phone and dialed a particular number, but the call wouldn’t go through. My heart hammered so fast as each ring ended in silence.“Damn it,” I muttered, my hands shaking harder now. I could feel the sweat building on my neck, sticking to my skin as fear crawled through my veins.Almost immediately, I grabbed my

Jettison POVI sat at the other end of my basement, or should I say my so-called torture chamber, lips curled in a snarl as I smoked and watched Craig torture the truth out of Nyra—or whatever the shapeshifterbitch’s real name was.The air was heavy, thick with the stench of wolfsbane and blood. The hum of the electric current vibrated through the cold concrete floor as Craig used the electric shocker device coated with a good amount of wolfsbane on her, and every time she screamed, the sound crawled under my skin, sharp and piercing.Hell, I still couldn’t believe that thing wasn’t a normal wolf. She had fooled all of us in the pack, using her damn shifter powers. But honestly, I wasn’t that surprised. I’d sensed something was off from the very first moment I saw her. That day at Kim’s kitchen—the day she threw herself at me, trying to flirt like she thought she could seduce me.I went along with it, not because I found her worthy. She wasn’t. She didn’t have brown hair, or brown eye

Emilia POVI stared at the screen of my phone for a long while, then at the wide-open window, an exasperated sigh escaping my lips at my dilemma. This wasn’t me. Damn. I shouldn’t be here. I should be somewhere stirring soup and taking orders, not hiding in my room like this. But can I help it when my life seems to be hanging by a thread? And the main person who should’ve been here, the main person who was holding Jett back from carrying out his plan—Mom—wasn’t even around. The last time I saw her was last night when she’d almost caught me and Jettison. Thank God for quick lies and luck, or she would’ve found out what we were doing. Our moaning had been too loud, and thanks to the miserably thin walls, we'd woken her up, but fortunately I’d managed to cover it up somehow. But when I woke up this morning, she was gone; her room was empty, and it was crazy how quiet the whole house felt without her—just too quiet.I looked at my phone again, checking the time. It was getting close to fiv

Emilia POVThe words made my p***y wetter, my juice rolling out of me onto the table, staining it, and gawd, he saw it, his eyes following every drop of it as his lips curled even more. My cheeks heated up so fast it burned."See, it's calling out to me. What are you waiting for?" He raised a brow as he pulled himself out, his hand wrapping around himself, stroking slowly while staring at my still dripping core. Goddess, the sight nearly drove me crazy."Shit, bunny, I know you want it. Stop making it hard for the—"Hell, he didn’t get to finish before I gave in. My body was aching, needy, and trembling all over for him as I pulled down my shorts and positioned myself on the table before him."Get inside already, Jett...!" I need you," I muttered, my voice sounding breathless and needy. I didn’t care if it sounded slutty; I couldn’t. Not now. Not when my whole body was already burning for him.Almost immediately I felt him pull up behind me, his chest brushing my back. But just as his
