"I made dinner." I say but Nick just stares at me, as if debating on whether to reply me or not.

"That’s... that's okay I guess, but you don't have to do this anymore Cassandra, you don't have to work for me anymore. " He says and I feel a pang in my chest. Is he going to send me out of his house? Is he really over me that quickly?

“Wait! Does this mean you’re sending me packing?” I ask hurriedly, fear gripping me at the thought of not being able to see him again, not to mention leaving his house means I’m leaving this world as well, since Victoria will most definitely kill me.
