Chapter 20

Percy POV

Her expression when she entered my office was tainted and her brows already bringing out frowning lines. A lot of things pissed Eden easily and it made her an easy bomb.

“What happened?” I asked taking off my glasses, she was too engrossed in her thoughts to even look at me. Instead she sat on the couch and closed her eyes.

“It’s nothing.” She answered opening her eyes, Eden turned in my direction clearly irritated.

“Eden-” I pressed holding her gaze, from how shaky her eyes was I knew this was a battle she wouldn’t win so I let her have it. I averted my haze somewhere else.

“It’s too early to be upset, it’s barely eleven a.m.” I said opening a file on my desk, I skimmed over the information written down and heard the chair opposite me being pulled back. Even without looking up I know that Eden is there, her presence is hard to ignore so I spare her a quick glance.

“What happens now?” she asked plainly.
