LOGINTheir journey to the venue was quicker than expected.
Daniela wore a long red satin evening formal dress with criss-cross front and a butterfly mask. Although she had wanted to wear something simple and nanny-like, but Lara insisted she wear something classy and elegant since they were attending a social gathering.
The hall was vast and opulent. Four huge pillars stood in the middle. Chandeliers were scattered across the ceiling. The crowd below it bustled with laughter.
Lara tugged at her hand. “Remember the reason we're here, and try to avoid trouble. Some of these socialite would try to make you lose face, just look at them without saying a word and they'll go away. Ok.”
“Ok.” Daniela replied, looking around the hall. She couldn't find a single child in the crowd. This might be harder than she thought. How'd she differentiate between parents and singles?
For the meantime, Daniela stopped by a table and started a conversation with a woman. They shared some past experiences, which led to them exchanging contact info. Turns out the woman was also a fashion designer like her.

“What do you mean you can't find the four of them?” Killian thundered at the ten bodyguards who's jobs were to monitor the quadruplets. He was in a meeting when his bodyguards informed him that the four of them were nowhere to be found.
“Sir, we were with them. They suddenly turned and ran into the crowd downstairs. They're too small to notice.” One of the guards spoke. He was trembling from fear.
Killian pulled out his watch and checked the GPS tracker he had placed on the four of them. He frowned and looked around. The red dots were on the same place he stood.
Strange. He dipped his hand into his other pocket to pull out his phone, only for small tiny devices to fall out of his pocket. When he bent down and picked them up, he saw they were the trackers he had put on the four of them.
His hand balled into a fist. These cunning little boys slipped the tracker into his pocket. How did they even know they were being tracked?
“And also, before they left…they said they were going to…look for a mummy, for…themselves.” The bodyguard trembled.
Killian pinched the space between his eyebrows. “What are you waiting for? Search everywhere and bring them back here.”
The bodyguards quickly scattered themselves.
Killian exhaled sharply.
20 minutes later, he got a call that the four of them had been found. When he got to the down floor where a social gathering party was taking place, he was given a cheetah mask.
Killian walked over and stopped in front of them, his eyes fixed on the four of them who had their head down.
“What did I tell the four of you about wandering around in crowded places? If you want to be disobedient, I'll teach you a lesson. Run again, and I'll break those little legs of yours.” He threatened.
Matteo wrote on his writing tab then held it up.
WE WERE LOOKING FOR A MUMMY SINCE YOU NEVER GIVE US ATTENTION. YOU ARE ALWAYS BUSY WITH WORK AND NEVER HAVE TIME FOR US!
Tears slipped from the corner of Matteo's eyes.
“Crying won't change anything. Julian is searching for a nanny. If you continue this attitude of yours, I won't employ any nanny.”
Alessio looked down and wrote on his tab.
I SAID I WANT A MUMMY!
“I said you're getting a nanny.”
Alessio's eyes teared up. He turned and before anyone could predict his next move, he took to his heels and ran into a closing elevator.
Before the bodyguards could reach him, the elevator closed and ascended up. Killian punched the wall beside him.
“Get me that child.” He growled, angered and pissed. Before he could say another word, the remaining three ran in different directions, scattering themselves around the hall.
The bodyguards we're confused, not knowing who to run after.
_
Daniela looked across the hall. Just then, she noticed a small figure running into the elevator. Was that a child? Jackpot!
She made her way through the crowd. Getting to the stairs, she climbed up to the second floor.
She saw the small figure disappearing into a corner. She followed him, only to find him hiding behind a flower pot.
She slowly approached the child.
“Hey.” She called softly.
She saw his body trembling.
“Hey, don't be scared. I'm not here to hurt you.”
No response.
Daniela stopped in front of him and squatted to his level. She noticed some drops of water on the floor.
His long curly black hair covered his face so she couldn't really see him.
Not getting any response from him, Daniela reached into her purse and unhooked the small plush puppy that hung on the outside.
“Here, this is for you. Do you like puppies?” She noticed the trembling stop. His head raised then slowly turned towards her.
He stretched out his small hand and she placed the soft plush animal on it. His hand was so small and clean, she felt like holding it.
“Hey little guy. Why are you crying up here. Where's you parents?” She asked and his head dropped again.
“I'm sorry.” She quickly apologized. “If you are sad, a hug will make you feel better.” Daniela added, hoping she could get the little boy to speak.
She opened her hands, and after some seconds of hesitance, he moved closer for her to hug him. Daniela held him in her arms and patted his back. His hair was so curly, she felt the urge to run her hand through it.
After some minutes, she pulled back and held his shoulders. “Can I see you face, please?” She asked, trying not to upset him again.
The little boy nodded and used his little hands to push his hair off his face. Daniela was momentarily stunned.
How could a cute boy run up here to cry and yet no one followed him?
“What's your name little boy?” Daniela asked.
He looked down at his tab and scribbled down some words. He held it up for her to see.
ALESSIO.
“Your name is Alessio?” She asked and he nodded.
“You can call me Daniela, ok?”
He nodded and looked down at his tab. He scribbled some letters on it and held it up for her to see.
MUMMY!— it read.
“Mummy? Are you looking for your mummy?”
He shook his head. He pointed at her, then at the word he wrote on his tab.
Daniela was confused. She saw him tap something on a small watch in his hand. She was about asking who his mummy was when she suddenly heard multiple footsteps approaching.
When she looked up, she saw three small boys identical with the one in front of her running in their direction. She was momentarily stunned. Quadruplets?
They stopped in front of the one she had given the plush puppy. She noticed one in particular stood in front of all of them with his hands stretched out beside him, as if he was protecting them.
Daniela couldn't help but smile. They looked so cute and adorable.
“Hey, what's your name?” Daniela asked the one in front of her. He seemed to be the eldest.
He didn't reply, he just kept his stern gaze on her, as if warning her not to come any closer.
Daniela reached for the back of her head. She unhooked the butterfly mask she wore and pulled it off her face.
She saw the surprised look on their faces. “Now you can see me. I saw your little brother crying, so I had to check on him. Sorry if I was trespassing.” She apologized then turned to walk away.
She was about taking her fourth step when she heard fast footsteps behind her. She turned and was surprised to find the four boys standing right behind her with their writing tabs all having the same word— MUMMY!
Daniela squatted and they surrounded her. She couldn't help but touch their soft cheeks. She suddenly wished they were her kids.
“Can I know your names please?” She asked. They all wrote down their names and held it up for her to see. .
“Matteo, Alessio, Rocco and Leo.”
Alessio wrote something on his tab.
OUR MUMMY IS SO PRETTY!— Alessio.
DADDY WILL DEFINITELY FALL IN LOVE WITH HER— Leo.
Daniela raised her brows after reading what Leo wrote. Where they talking about her?
“Who's your mum…”
“Four of you, come here, now.” A deep male voice sounded from behind her.
Daniela was a little startled when the four of them ran into her embrace and hid their head. Their hands were holding her tight, as if begging her not to let go.
Daniela hid them behind her then turned to look at the man behind her.
She met a pair of cool blue crystal eyes behind a cheetah mask. His eyes were watching them, like he was observing something.
“Matteo, Alessio, Rocco, Leo.” Killian called again, his brows furrowed. It was unlike them to interact with strangers.
The little boys trembled behind her.
“Who are you?” She asked, trying not to look intimidated.
“I'm their father.” Killian replied.
“What did you do to him that made him cry so much?” She asked, referring to Alessio.
“It's none of your business.” Killian replied, already looking pissed. She was asking too much questions.
“They want to stay with me…”
“Boss, I've found a nanny.” A voice sounded from behind her.
Daniela's ears perked up. He was looking for a nanny?
“Does she have a resume?” Killian asked.
“Yes, do you want to… see it?” Julian asked, frowning at the picture on the resume.
“Give it to me.”
Julian passed the tablet to him and when Killian looked at it, there was also a frown on his face.
“Are you sure she's a nanny? What type of picture is this on her resume?”
Julian kept quiet.
“Anyways, send her an offer and get her to resume work as early as possible.”
“Ok boss.”
“Let's go home or I'll lock all of you outside.”
Daniela frowned at his words. She turned and squatted in front of them. She hugged them and whispered some promises into their ears, promising they'll meet again. Only then do they agree to go with their father.
Killian stood behind them as they walked away with a group of bodyguards around them. They all turned and waved at her. She smiled at them and waved back.
She stood there until they were out of sight. Daniela sighed. She'd have loved to be their nanny. Unfortunately, they had found one already.
She looks around and makes to take a step when her phone dings with a message. She fishes it out of her bag and screams when she sees a job offer.
Vivienne smiled as she walked around the table. She settled into the seat and picked up her cutleries. “Thank you, Mr. Grafton.” They ate in silence, but every now and then, Vivienne stole glances at him. When she was done, she set her spoon down and smiled. “Thank you Mr. Grafton. I'll treat you to lunch next time when you are free.” Killian just waved it off. “You don't necessarily have to do that.” Not long after, a knock sounded on the door. “Come in.” He said. Two waiters walked in. As Killian spoke with them, Vivienne silently pulled out her phone. She angled her camera, taking a picture of Killian and the empty dishes. A cruel smile tugged at her lips as she sent the image to the fashion school group chat with the caption, “Just finished having lunch with Mr. Grafton, it was so delightful.” Immediately, the post exploded with reactions. She smiled and slid her phone back into her bag. Killian stood up and looked at her. “Thanks for coming, Wilson will see you off.”
Daniela shifted in her seat. She pushed her phone back into her bag, as if that alone could stop her thoughts from drifting. Vivienne had a meeting. Killian had work. That was normal. She trusted him, she had no reason not to.Still, her chest felt tight. She shook her head slightly, annoyed with herself, and leaned back over her sketchbook.Constraint.She stared at the word again. Slowly, she began to draw. Her pencil moved carefully. The design formed in quiet layers, structured lines that hugged the body instead of overwhelming it. A garment that looked firm but gentle, something that held you together rather than trapping you. Daniela didn’t think too much about why it felt right. She just followed the feeling.Around her, the studio buzzed with low voices and movement. Chairs scraped. Fabric rustled. Liz hummed softly as she worked, occasionally glancing over.“This theme is… heavy,” Liz murmured.Daniela gave a small smile. She went back to shading the waistline, losing hers
Class went on for a while. After Vivienne had finished explaining some things, she closed her note then looked up. “Today,” she said, stopping at the front of the studio, “each of you will be working on a single project. No group work. Just you and your ideas.”A few students straightened. Others groaned softly.Vivienne continued, unfazed. “The theme is constraint.”Daniela’s fingers paused mid-reach for her pencil.“Not restriction imposed by force,” Vivienne clarified. “Constraint that is chosen. Accepted. Worn.” Her eyes swept the room. “You will design something that reflects that tension.”The room came alive immediately. Pencils scratching, fabric being dragged closer, mannequins turned and adjusted. Daniela stared at her blank page, letting the word settle.Constraint.Liz leaned toward her. “This feels personal,” she whispered.Daniela didn’t answer. Her pencil finally touched paper.Vivienne watched them work for a moment, then checked her watch.“I won’t be here for the e
The night air was cool, but Killian’s touch burned everywhere it lingered.Daniela’s fingers tightened in his shirt as his lips traced her neck, her breath uneven, heart racing. When he finally paused, his forehead resting against hers, she felt the tremor he tried to hide.“Daniela,” he murmured with a hoarse voice. “I love you.”Her chest tightened. She lifted her hands to his face, thumbs brushing his jaw, feeling the tension locked there. “I know how much you’ve been carrying,” she whispered. “All of it. You don’t have to anymore.”His eyes searched hers, as if asking permission to believe her.“I want you to be mine,” he said quietly. “Not owned. Chosen. I want a life with you, morning chaos with the quadruplets, late nights, everything.”Emotion swelled in her chest. Daniela nodded, tears blurring her vision as she leaned into him. “I’m here,” she said, stroking his hair the way she knew calmed him. Something in him gave way. He pulled her close, holding her like an anchor,
Daniela could hear the longing in his voice, and it pained her because she had already broken the promise. She could only force a smile and hug him back.Unknown to them, somewhere across the street, cameras flashed from three different angle. The click was silent. The angle deliberate.“Come on,” she said as she pulled back. “They’ll lose their minds if they see you here first.”Danim grinned. “Like they don’t already love me more.”She laughed and opened the door, and he followed her inside.Inside, the house filled quickly with noise. Her brothers’ voices overlapped, laughter echoing off the walls, arms wrapping around her, questions flying at once.Danim slipped seamlessly into the chaos, teasing them, ruffling hair, sitting too comfortably on the arm of the couch.Daniela watched him from across the room at one point, smiling softly. This was the part of her life that felt untouched. Safe.Later, when Daniela stepped away to help in the kitchen, Danim leaned against the doorwa
The morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the room. Daniela stirred first, her eyes fluttering open to the steady rise and fall of Killian's chest beneath her cheek. She smiled faintly, tracing lazy patterns on his chest with her fingertip. For a moment, everything felt perfect. No worries, no doubts, just the quiet comfort of waking up beside him.Killian shifted, his arm tightening around her as he woke. "Morning," he murmured, his voice still rough with sleep."Morning," she replied, propping herself up on one elbow to look at him. His hair was tousled, and there was a hint of stubble on his jaw. She reached out to brush it gently. "You look... peaceful."He chuckled softly. "That's your doing." He pulled her closer, pressing a light kiss to her forehead. "What time is it?"She glanced at the clock on the nightstand. "Just after eight. We have time."Killian nodded, but his expression turned thoughtful. "About your brothers... when do you want to g
But before she could stop herself, she said it. “Can I kiss you?” Killian stilled. His thumb paused at her waist, his breath shallow as he looked at her. “I want to.” She said softly, suddenly feeling the urge to really kiss him. He had kissed her before, but this time, she was the one asking. S
Daniela first went to her room to freshen up before heading for the kitchen. While cooking, she thought of going to the fashion school today. The idea had been sitting at the back of her mind. Mr. Rhis had reached out, reminding her that the offer still stood. The school wasn’t just reputable,
Killian’s patience frayed like an overworked violin string, and the quadruplets were the four tiny bow-wielders sawing away at what was left of his sanity. He had sur70vived days of their sabotage. Days of alarms, staged emergencies, fake heartaches. If he had succeeded in bribing Rocco, then toni
Much later that night, long after the house had settled into quiet, a familiar engine hummed outside.Killian's car pulled into the driveway. He didn’t come in through the front entrance. He handed Wilson a big insulated bag instead.“Make sure it gets to them,” he said flatly. “Quietly.”Wilson gr
