After the party ended, Daniela and Lara took a cab back home.

“How did it go?” Lara asked, noticing the excitement on her face.

“I got a job offer.” Daniela replied, her face beaming with smiles.

“That's great. Let's check it out.”

Daniela pulled out her laptop and switched it on. She tapped on the offer and read through it.

“Looks good.” Lara commented after reading the offer. “Who's the client?”

“Killian GFN. That's all it says here.”

Lara paused. “GFN?” She asked, her voice trailing off.

“Yes. GFN. Is anything wrong?” Daniela asked, turning to Lara.

“Daniela, that’s Killian Grafton. People don’t even whisper his name…and you’re about to nanny his child?”

The excitement on Daniela's face faded. “Is he a bad person?”

“Rumor says he has blood on his hands. He has killed people, Daniela. And he's a mafia.”

Daniela looked at her screen. The ‘Accept Offer’ button was glaring at her. “What should I do? I really need this job.”

Lara sighed.

“Him being an Ex-mafia doesn't have anything to do with me. I'm just going to take care of his child. And I'll try my best to stay away from him.”

Lara's face was now covered with guilt. “Daniela, if I told you I did something to your resume, will you kill me?”

Daniela's looked at her with wide eyes. “What did you do?”

Lara stood up slowly and gestured for her to check her resume. She ran to the window and hid herself behind the curtains.

Daniela's hands flew over her keyboard. She opened her resume and all the color on her face drained off when she saw the profile picture was no longer the nerdy white background photo she had uploaded. Instead, it was that white lacy bikini, seductive shot she took during their last vacation to the beach.

Lara peeked out from behind the curtains. “You might want to check the Applying For section.”

Daniela quickly scrolled down to the section where she wrote what she was applying for. Her body froze.

Applying For:

Nanny.

Wife.

Personal chef.

Secretary.

Personal assistant.

Housekeeper.

Companion.

Moral supporter.

Heir-producer.

Bodyguard.

All-in-one package.

“Wife? Heir producer? Are you out of your mind?” Daniela shouted.

Lara hid behind the curtains. “I'm sorry. I was just trying to make sure you secure a job. I didn't know Killian would be the client. I'm so sorry Daniela.”

Daniela slapped her forehead. Her resume had already been reviewed and now she was expected to show up tomorrow. Just great.

She looked at the window and saw Lara peeking at her.

She couldn't stay mad at her. She had good intentions. “It's ok. You can come out. Now I just have to figure out what to do.”

Lara came out and sat beside her.

“Like you said, you're just going to take care of his child. You have nothing to worry about, as far as you don't get entangled with him, or the other way round.”

Daniela laughed. “I don't plan on getting entangled with him. I only plan to earn some money and get back my dad's company.”

“That's the spirit. So, after all, there really isn't any danger in working for him.”

Daniela nodded, feeling a bit relieved. “It says here a car would come pick me up tomorrow. What am I going to wear?” She asked, turning to Lara.

Lara smiled and tapped her chest. “Leave that to me.” She walked over to Daniela's wardrobe and began her search.

Daniela was excited. She finally landed a job after one whole year of being jobless. Now she could save up money and get back her late father's clothing company from her greedy uncle.

The clothing company was the only thing her dad's money-blinded shareholders couldn't take from her. And yet, in a moment of desperation, she gave the ownership documents to her uncle so he could sell the company and give her the money, but that was the last day he ever answered her calls.

He ran away with the documents and claimed the company as his own. She vowed to get it back, and she would. Just that it would take time.

She needs to be very hardworking in this new job. Hopefully this time, she won't get fired.

Daniela exhaled sharply. She looked forward to meeting the child she'd be taking care of. The job offer stated that it was a 4 year old boy. She hoped he'll be easy to get along with.

Although something bothered her. What if she messed up? What would he think of her after seeing her resume? Could that be the reason why she got the offer? Would he be expecting her to do everything Lara had listed in her resume?

She certainly can't do that. She'll explain everything to him when they meet. Hopefully he'll understand.

The next day, Daniela got dressed and waited for the car to arrive. She wore a decent dress and low heels.

Lara fixed her hair in front of the mirror.

“A 4 year old should be easy to handle, right?” Lara asked as she packed Daniela's hair with a hair band.

Daniela nodded. “I've handled older children, a 4 year old won't be hard for me.” She replied.

“You're going to be a great nanny. When you come back tonight, we'll celebrate with some friends.”

Daniela smiled. “Ok.”

A car honked outside.

“That must be the driver.”

Killian set the spatula aside then took off his apron. He moved the plates in front of him to the dinning table where the four brothers were seated with their hands crossed above their chest.

“Eat.” He commanded.

They turned their faces away.

Killian's jaw twitched. “You want to start with this attitude of yours again?”

Matteo picked up his writing tab and wrote on it.

WE WANT TO SEE MUMMY!

Killian frowned. “I told you I'm employing a nanny, not a mummy. Since you've decided to be naughty, that's your punishment.”

Matteo continued writing.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT EMPLOYING A NANNY. WE ALREADY FOUND A MUMMY FOR OURSELVES. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS BRING HER HERE!

This got Killian confused.

Alessio reached into his uniform pocket and pulled out a small plush puppy.

SHE GAVE THIS TO ME AND PROMISED TO SEE ME AGAIN. I WANT HER AS MY MUMMY.

Killian stretched out his hand. “Give it to me.” He said but Alessio hid it behind himself.

Just then, Wilson walked in. “Boss, the nanny's here.”

Killian nodded then slipped on his suit jacket. He buttoned his suit then turned to Wilson. “Take them to school, and get them something to eat on the way. Tell Julian to send her to my office. I'll be waiting there.”

Wilson nodded then Killian disappeared into the elevator. He left to deliver the message to Julian.

WHAT SHOULD WE DO? DADDY REALLY EMPLOYED A NANNY.— Rocco.

I'M UPSET— Alessio.

WE HAVE TO COME UP WITH A PLAN. WE CAN'T LET ANOTHER WOMAN TAKE MUMMY'S PLACE— Leo.

YOU'RE RIGHT. WHEN WE RETURN, WE'LL COME UP WITH A PLAN. FOR NOW, WE HAVE TO SHOW DADDY WE DON'T LIKE THE NANNY HE EMPLOYED— Matteo.

They all nodded in agreement.

By the time Wilson returned, they had already cleared the food on their plates. They slipped on their schoolbags then took the elevator downstairs.

_

Daniela arranged her hair before stepping out of the car. She was welcomed in by a young handsome man who introduced himself as Julian.

“You must be Mrs. Daniela.” He said with his hand stretched out for a handshake.

“Yes, I am.” Daniela shook his hand. “Thanks for having me here.” She added.

“You're welcome. Please come in.”

As Daniela followed him in, she caught sight of a small figure entering a car not far from the one she came in. That must be the child she'd be taking care of.

She couldn't see the child's face. The bodyguards blocked her view.

When she entered the living room, “Wow!”, that was the first thing that escaped her lips.

Black and white interior design. The living room was vast and opulent. Thick black curtains hung above the floor to ceiling windows. The living room was so wide, it could be used as a hall for an event.

“Mrs. Daniela, this way please.” Julian called out as the elevator door slid open.

Daniela followed him in. They got to a particular floor and the door slid open.

Julian walked out. Daniela glanced around as she followed him. She saw some maids watering the plants beside the doors.

“This is it. Please go in. The boss is waiting for you.” Julian said as he pushed the door open.

Daniela thanked him then walked in.

The night air was cool, but Killian’s touch burned everywhere it lingered.Daniela’s fingers tightened in his shirt as his lips traced her neck, her breath uneven, heart racing. When he finally paused, his forehead resting against hers, she felt the tremor he tried to hide.“Daniela,” he murmured with a hoarse voice. “I love you.”Her chest tightened. She lifted her hands to his face, thumbs brushing his jaw, feeling the tension locked there. “I know how much you’ve been carrying,” she whispered. “All of it. You don’t have to anymore.”His eyes searched hers, as if asking permission to believe her.“I want you to be mine,” he said quietly. “Not owned. Chosen. I want a life with you, morning chaos with the quadruplets, late nights, everything.”Emotion swelled in her chest. Daniela nodded, tears blurring her vision as she leaned into him. “I’m here,” she said, stroking his hair the way she knew calmed him. Something in him gave way. He pulled her close, holding her like an anchor,

Daniela could hear the longing in his voice, and it pained her because she had already broken the promise. She could only force a smile and hug him back.Unknown to them, somewhere across the street, cameras flashed from three different angle. The click was silent. The angle deliberate.“Come on,” she said as she pulled back. “They’ll lose their minds if they see you here first.”Danim grinned. “Like they don’t already love me more.”She laughed and opened the door, and he followed her inside.Inside, the house filled quickly with noise. Her brothers’ voices overlapped, laughter echoing off the walls, arms wrapping around her, questions flying at once.Danim slipped seamlessly into the chaos, teasing them, ruffling hair, sitting too comfortably on the arm of the couch.Daniela watched him from across the room at one point, smiling softly. This was the part of her life that felt untouched. Safe.Later, when Daniela stepped away to help in the kitchen, Danim leaned against the doorwa

The morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the room. Daniela stirred first, her eyes fluttering open to the steady rise and fall of Killian's chest beneath her cheek. She smiled faintly, tracing lazy patterns on his chest with her fingertip. For a moment, everything felt perfect. No worries, no doubts, just the quiet comfort of waking up beside him.Killian shifted, his arm tightening around her as he woke. "Morning," he murmured, his voice still rough with sleep."Morning," she replied, propping herself up on one elbow to look at him. His hair was tousled, and there was a hint of stubble on his jaw. She reached out to brush it gently. "You look... peaceful."He chuckled softly. "That's your doing." He pulled her closer, pressing a light kiss to her forehead. "What time is it?"She glanced at the clock on the nightstand. "Just after eight. We have time."Killian nodded, but his expression turned thoughtful. "About your brothers... when do you want to g

Moments later, she heard it, the soft click of the bedroom door opening, then closing behind her.Footsteps.Daniela didn’t turn.Killian came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her back against his chest. He lowered his head and pressed a gentle kiss to her neck.“You came back.” She murmured, trying to hide the excitement in her voice. Killian kissed the sensitive spot behind her ear. “I promised my wife, I have to fulfill it so I won't get locked out.” Daniela giggled softly.Killian released her waist. “I'll take a quick shower, wait for me.” She nodded in response, but the moment he left, she felt a quiet emptiness in her chest. Daniela hugged herself and watched the bustling city ahead. Her thoughts drifted to her brothers. It's been long since she last saw them. She'd ask Killian if she can go see them within the week. The sound of water running echoed throughout the room. Daniela slid the glass door open and stepped into the balcony. The cool ni

The drive home was silent.Daniela sat in the passenger seat. The quadruplets packed close in the back, their small hands linked together.Killian’s knuckles were white on the steering wheel, his jaw set so tightly it ached just to look at him.No one spoke. The city lights came into view, familiar streets unfolding, but Daniela’s body still hadn’t caught up with reality. Every shadow felt too sharp. Every sound made her flinch. When they finally pulled into the driveway, Killian turned the engine off and sat there for a second.“We’re home.” He said gently.Inside, Killian moved with quiet efficiency. Shoes off. Doors locked. Curtains drawn. He checked every corner without making it obvious, but Daniela noticed. The quadruplets climbed onto the couch, unusually subdued.“Lunch first,” Killian said, forcing a steadiness into his tone. “Then dinner later. You guys eat everything, okay?”They nodded in unison.Daniela watched him, her chest tightening. The house felt safe, but only b

The drive to pick up the quadruplets was filled with an easy warmth, the kind that settled into Daniela’s chest and loosened the tight knot the day had carved there.Killian drove with one hand on the wheel, while the other moved possessively on Daniela's thigh. Daniela watched the city blur past the window, her toes curling as Killian's hand grabbed her thigh. “You didn’t have to send breakfast,” she said softly.Killian glanced at her, a faint smile touching his lips. “I wanted to.”She turned toward him. “You knew she’d see it.”“I hoped she would,” he replied honestly. “Some people only understand boundaries when they’re made visible.”Daniela exhaled a quiet laugh. “She looked like she swallowed something bitter.”Killian’s thumb brushed lightly against her leg. “Good.”They arrived at the kids’ school shortly after. The moment the car stopped, Daniela's door flew open.MUMMY!Small arms wrapped around Daniela as she bent down, nearly losing her balance from the impact. She lau
