Riley’s POV

Aria’s elbow presses gently against my arm, a quiet nudge forward. “Go on,” she murmurs, like we’re standing at the edge of a pool and she thinks all I need is a little push.

But my feet don't agree, they feel rooted to the floor like it might swallow me if I wait too long.

Michael’s eyes lift then, finding mine across the room. There’s no flash of surprise, or flicker of anything that would give away what he’s thinking. Just steady recognition like he knew I would come, and this was inevitable.

The man sitting with him glances over as well. Calm, professional. His suit is crisp but not flashy, the kind of thing worn by someone who wants to be taken seriously without drawing attention. His face tugs at my memory, but the thread slips away before I can pull it loose.

Michael stands, pushing his chair back with a slow scrape of wood on tile. “Riley,” he says, voice low but clear, as though testing how my name feels in his mouth after all this time.

I swallow, my pulse thuddi

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 200: His Arrival.

Riley’s POVI sat on the sand with my feet stretched out, watching the waves roll in slowly before crashing against the shore. Each one came and went with a calm rhythm that should have soothed me, but my mind refused to stay quiet. My thoughts kept circling the innovation challenge, where only one agency would be selected and launched onto the global stage. It was not just any competition. It was one that could push my organization beyond borders. The idea of it both excited and scared me. I wanted my organization to stand tall, to be recognized globally, just like Gray’s. Not as his wife’s project, but as something I built with my own hands. This competition felt like a doorway to something bigger.I knew it would not be easy, and failure was a real possibility. Still, something in me wanted to try. I owed myself that much. The breeze picked up suddenly, sweeping my hair into my face and cutting through my thoughts. Strands brushed against my lips and eyes, tickling my skin

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 199: A Change of Air.

Michael’s POV“Wake up, sleepy head,” I whispered into Riley’s ear as I gently rubbed the back of her hand. She shifted slightly, mumbled something under her breath, then turned to the other side, pulling the blanket closer like it offended her.I chuckled softly. “Wake up, love. We are already running late for our flight.”She responded with a low whine and dragged the sheet over her head, effectively shutting me out. Watching her curl into herself, so small like that, made my chest feel warm. For a second, I just stood there admiring her, then an idea slipped into my mind.I picked up my phone from the bedside table and cleared my throat, pretending to be serious. “Hello, captain. Yes, please cancel the arrangement. We are not going anymore."Instantly, a hand shot out from under the blanket and snatched the phone straight from my ear. “Hello, captain,” she said quickly, her voice still thick with sleep. “Do not listen to him. We are on our way.”She waited, frowned, then raised he

Riley’s POVI sat on the couch with the television on, my favorite channel playing in the background, but my mind was far from it. I stared at the screen without really seeing anything. My thoughts kept drifting back to what had happened earlier, replaying in fragments I did not ask for.The soft click of the door pulled me out of it.I looked up just as Michael stepped inside, bags hanging from both hands.“You are back, welcome,” I said, pushing myself up from the couch.I walked over to him and collected a few of the bags, heading straight for the kitchen. He followed shortly after, disappeared for a moment, then returned with another bag while I was still unpacking the first ones. Before I knew it, he was beside me, opening cupboards and the fridge, arranging items carefully. He placed the heavier things away with ease, reaching higher shelves and bending where I should not.I watched him quietly, my brows knitting together as I took in everything he had brought. It looked lik

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 197: A Stranger at the Door.

Riley’s PovI woke up with a soft start, confused for a second by how quiet everything felt. The room was dim, washed in that warm orange glow that only comes when the sun is already halfway on its way down. I sat up slowly, stretching my arms and rolling my neck. I shuffled into the restroom, splashed water on my face, and stared at my reflection for a moment longer than usual. I still was not used to seeing myself like this, married, pregnant, and standing at the edge of a completely new life. When I came back into the room, I reached for my phone on the bedside table, already wondering where Michael had disappeared to.The bed beside me was empty and cold. That was when I noticed the folded paper sitting neatly on the table.Gone to get groceries.I will be back soon.Love, Michael.I read it twice, then a third time, just to be sure my eyes were not playing tricks on me.Groceries and Michael, together in the same sentence. The image of him pushing a cart down an aisle, readi

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 196: A Place to Call Home.

Riley’s POVI woke up to a strange sensation on my body, something warm and slow that pulled me from sleep before my mind could catch up.I was disoriented at first, caught between dreaming and waking, before my eyes flew open.Michael was between my breasts, his lips wrapped around my left nipple, sucking gently while his hand worked the other one with lazy confidence. His eyes were closed, like he was savoring the moment, as if this was exactly where he wanted to be.I sucked in a sharp breath and let my head fall back against the pillow. My body betrayed me immediately. Pregnancy had turned every nerve ending into a live wire, and the way he touched me made everything feel heightened. I told myself to stay quiet, but the ache pooling low in my belly made that impossible.Soon, soft moans slipped out of me without permission as he alternated between biting and sucking, his tongue teasing in a way that made my toes curl. My hands fisted into the sheets, and I shut my eyes again, g

  • The Billionaire She Rejected.   Chapter 195: She Said Yes.

Riley’s POVI stood there, stiff, my mind struggling to catch up with what my eyes were seeing.Just moments ago, I had been clapping and squealing like a nosy bystander who stumbled into someone else’s perfect moment. It felt like the world had tilted, and I was standing right in the middle of it, unsure whether to laugh, cry, or just breathe.Slowly, one after the other, the people around us began to remove their masks. Familiar faces emerged, smiling so brightly that my chest tightened. Grandma stood there, hands clasped together, her eyes looking glossy. Aria was already crying openly, one hand over her mouth, the other pressed to her chest as if she might burst from happiness.Viktor stood a little behind them, calm as always, but the smile on his face told me everything his words did not.I turned back to Michael. He was still kneeling on one knee, the ocean breeze brushing against his hair, the open ring box steady in his hand. For a second, he looked nervous, not the compo
