Chapter Five-The Billionaire is a stalker
It didn’t take a load of pondering to see reason as to why he wasn’t welcome at LAWSON CORP, gracefully he walked out of the meeting room and out of the building—fuming? Not so much. He was rattled, dazed as a plethora of emotions coursed through him all at once. This wasn’t over, he thought to himself as he found his way into his jeep, slamming the door hard behind him and making his driver who was taking a short nap jolt upright. He ought to fire him soon. “Where— “Just drive.” He answered dismissively. Gianna watched intently as the black jeep drove up, her hands dropped from her chest in relief seeing him gone and she could finally breathe. Seeing Justin once again, for the first time in three years sure did wring up a lot of emotions, the same emotions she swore to keep in her Pandora’s box…hidden away from the rest of the world to see. He had changed over the years she couldn’t deny, a shadow of his old self. He was leaner, still the same tall man she was once in love with but leaner and less of life—he also had a beard. The Justin she knew would rather fall off a bridge than grow a beard. “You’re certainly not thinking of him are you?” Aiden muttered as he walked into her office. She jolted a little, taken by surprise and carefully stepped away from the huge glass window, so as not to be accused of stalking on her ex husband. “Damn it Aiden.” She cussed softly, “I should’ve never been at that meeting. He was never supposed to find out about my return.” “We didn’t know he would pull up such cheap tricks Gianna,” Aiden said as he sat down, “How did you marry such a….such a— “Piece of crap??” She smiled. “I was gonna say son of a bitch but anyways….” He paused for a moment as a line of worry appeared on his forehead, “You do know he’ll be back right??” “Yes,” she sighed deeply looking at the window once again, “That’s what I’m scared of.” *********** The employees at SAN Limited feared for their lives as their tyrant of a boss, who’d just gotten back from an obvious unsuccessful meeting laid into them. Their profits were back up by five percent but that was child’s play to a man like Justin, in just a few minutes to closing hour he had fired ten of their top executives…two of which had dedicated their lives to the betterment of the company. No one was spared today, some murmured it could be a psychological issue and others pitied him. Irrespective of his irrational tirade, the CEO was clearly a bitter soul in need of a therapy session and some counseling. “I heard he was escorted out of LAWSON CORP.” One whispered in the elevator. “Serves him right,” The other concurred, “He can’t just go about buying his way into everything.” There was absolute silence the moment the elevator opened to the bane of their gossip, Justin stared at his watch before walking in to join the others. The tension in the air was enough to make a two year old cry, they were terrified of him—breathe too loud and their source of income could vanish in a blink. “Why aren’t you at your stations?” He asked. “It’s closing—- “Then work overtime. I pay good money for that.” He snapped as the elevator opened and walked out. “I know someone got fired for this, but it has to be said…it’s no wonder his wife left him.” *********** Gianna spotted a Grey sedan parked right across the street the moment she got off work, frowning deeply she hopped into her car and drove off immediately. A curb was taken and she spotted the same car a few spaces away, she was clearly being followed. It had her ex husband written all over it. Groaning, she took another turn downtown and tried her possible best to lose the car as she would rather die than Justin finding out where she lived. Three years she spent, crafting the perfect new life and identity and she’ll be damned before she let him steal it from her. A huge sigh of relief escaped her as she finally lost the car. However this moment of peace was cut short, when she found herself stuck in an alleyway with a close end. She tried to back out and then the blue sedan appeared again, cutting off her escape route. Her teeth gritted tightly, fuming with her fists balled tight she stormed out of the car and towards the blue sedan—expecting to see her ex husband but a random man walked out of the driver’s seat….then there were two, and then three. She was surrounded by three men. Gianna was gripped with fear, “Who are…who are you?? What do you— “Sorry ma’am but you’ll have to come with us.” One of them answered “Come with you??” Her eyes widened, her anger was slowly rising again, “You’re kidnapping me?!!!” “Oh no no, our boss just wants to—-“ “Who’s your boss?” “Justin Santiago.” Typical. She expected stalking, but getting goons to do his dirty work was just downright lowly for a man with a steep ego as him. He was the same man responsible for the downfall of her family, trying to kidnap her is certainly in his suit. She nodded, “Fine. I’ll come with you.” ********* Justin waited patiently at the Italian restaurant, a tad bit restless as he hoped she would come with the men he sent after her. He never answers, he needed to know if she was the same woman that walked out of his office after signing the divorce papers, he needed to know why she was no longer blonde…He needed to know why she was back. He poured himself a glass of whiskey, the day was already gone and the night was surely out to get to him. He wasn’t getting any sleep, not when she was back to haunt his already lucid dreams. Just then, he spotted her from outside the window and as she stormed into the restaurant. She was fuming, her cheeks were running hot just as she walked up to his table. “I know this is unconventional but I would love for you to sit— She slapped him, hard and right across the cheek, “That is for stalking me you fucking bastard.” Then she grabbed the glass and lunged the contents right at his face, “—And this….this is for trying to kidnap me.”Chapter Twenty-Eight—The first confession Aiden’s eyes narrowed towards the rolls of toilet paper and spilled bottles of hand sanitizer on the floor, he snorted, “Someone’s in a terrible mood tonight.” Unappreciative of his snarky tone towards him, Justin folded his arms together, “Of course, it’s my wife’s guard dog.” “Ex wife,” Aiden corrected, “I don’t mind being Gianna’s guard dog. I’ll do anything to protect her.” “Protect her from what?” “You.” Tension loomed over as silence followed. Justin’s jaw tightened, Aiden’s fists folded. It was a clear show of their masculinity, with one wanting to topple over the other. Justin raced to come out on top, but tonight wasn’t about his wife’s overbearing aide. “I want to speak to Gianna.” “If you have any issues you can take it up with the— “Alone.” “Why?” Justin’s frown creased even deeper, “It’s personal.” Aiden chuckled soft
Chapter Twenty-Seven—The Forbes Ball(3) Fate. It had a cruel way of wrangling two destinies together. Justin gulped hard as he walked towards the podium, where he was required to give a little speech, “Uhh good evening everyone. My name is Justin Santiago, the CEO of SAN limited and a former award winner of the Rising Pioneer award,” God this was stupid, he thought, pursing his lips before he continued, “The Rising Pioneer award is to showcase the prowess, hardwork and diligence of the new up and running millionaires. It’s also a reminder to every aspiring entrepreneur out there, that there is also a chance…a chance that you can make it if you believe in yourself.” Aiden couldn’t help but roll his eyes as the speech continued, “I’m pretty sure he doesn’t even believe in that boat load of crap Gi—“ he paused, seeing how pale she had gotten, “Gianna??” Gianna’s eyes were transfixed at the man speaking a few tables away from her, she felt the huge lump form i
Chapter Twenty-Six—The Forbes Ball (2) “Summer??” Clad in a fuchsia pink dress with an overlaying corset that was too tight for her newly done bust, Summer Henshaw flashed her former fling a wide grin. She wasn’t expecting to run into him tonight, but now that she did, after his evasion of her calls and texts, she had no intention of leaving him alone tonight. She was thirsty for a new story. Her agent was on the verge of dropping her as a client, as her barely good acting skills couldn’t land her on a decent. The blogs were also bored of her, not even her recent escapade with an Emirati prince caught the headlines. There was one man who could put her back up on the map, and make her heart flutter—Justin Santiago. She longed to get back in his good graces again, wanted to be part of his life again. She wanted to be his one and only wife. “Hi Justin.” She finally replied, fluttering her newly done lashes at him. He frowned deeply, the night
Chapter Twenty-five—The Forbes Ball Gianna stared at her reflection in the mirror. The Forbes ball. It was the Oscar’s of the business world, a night where the most important moguls of all time come towards a great cause. It wasn’t her first Forbes ball, as she’d attended before but as a plus one. The wife of Justin Santiago, when he was just a rising pioneer. Tonight she was attending as the important pioneer herself. She quickly caught a stray tear with the brink of her handkerchief, unwilling to ruin her makeup. She’d prepared so hard for tonight, every hard work she put in, it was all for tonight, to show the world Gianna Santiago wasn’t to be messed with. Aiden was right outside the apartment building when she stepped out. His eyes beamed with admiration, a part of him lust, his throat felt dry ,just from gawking at her beautiful curves that was accentuated by the skirt of her dress. Gianna could feel his lingering eyes on her, it made her a tad bit un
Chapter Twenty—Four—Games, dirty games “There’s a package for you sir.” Belinda walked into her boss’s office right a few minutes after lunchtime. Justin was stressed, SAN limited was going through a crisis. All thanks to Gianna and her perfect plan to slander his name through the press, never in a million years did he think sleazy tabloids and blogs would be detrimental to the integrity of his company. They had lost over forty percent in profits, which was a mile he never thought he would reach. Julian was out to get him, apparently getting punched in the face for being loud mouthed had bruised his ego terribly, and so the motion of stepping down as CEO was being brought at the next meeting. He sighed deeply, atoning for his sins was a lot harder than he expected. He was down a path he wasn’t sure where the end goal was. On one side there was Gianna, who accused him of bringing her flowers—he was being framed, and then the other he was on the verge of losin
Chapter Twenty-three—A friend?? Gianna wiped off the trickle of sweat as she stepped outside the apartment building. Unbeknownst to her, she was holding her breath just from seeing Justin’s naked body as soon as the door opened. Damn him, she thought. He was as sexy as he was manipulative. She frowned deeply as the image of his hard rock abs remained imprinted on her mind, slamming the car door minutes later as she stormed into Aiden’s apartment. The scenery she saw next stunned her greatly. Candles, dimly lit candles on the dining table and a bouquet of red roses right at the center. She couldn’t help but smile as she strode into the kitchen, Aiden was humming to a love song as he stirred up some pasta in the pan. “Someone’s in a good mood,” she muttered, poking him from behind, “What’s the occasion?” Aiden turned around sharply, almost taken by surprise as he expected her arrival a lot sooner, “You’re back home early.” “Yeah,” she n
Chapter Twenty-two—The framed CEO Flowers, Justin thought as the stream of hot water coursed through his skin. It was a ludicrous idea, one that would probably make Gianna hate him even more. Mason’s suggestion was one to work for a normal being, but his relationship with Gianna at the moment was far from normal. He placed both hands on the bathroom walls, letting the water course its way down his head. It was the only moment of relaxation he enjoyed, one where he could think properly without his guilt eating him alive. He thought about Mason’s idea, it couldn’t hurt to try even though he knew she would probably send his flowers down to Dante’s seven rooms of inferno. He used to send her flowers all the time, right until their marriage went sour. She might think he was playing some sort of dirty game with her. He needed another plan, he was desperate to make amends with his ex wife before she sent his business plunging. It was taking a lot of effort, not
Chapter Twenty-One—A Peculiar Lesson “I’m sorry you want me to teach you what??” Mason Jenkins almost choked on the ribeye steak he just plunged into his mouth hours later. Justin frowned deeply, thinking it was probably a mistake inviting him over for lunch, “You heard me the first time.” Mason shook his head, a part of him wanted to die of laughter and the other genuinely felt bad for his friend, “I’m sorry but I don’t think I did. You want me to what??” Justin sighed deeply, he was too sober for this, grabbing the glass of water in front of him and downing it in one gulp, “I need you to teach me how to…how to— “Come on Justin. You can do this.” “I need you to teach me how to win my wife back.” “Atta boy.” Justin’s face almost went cherry with pure embarrassment. The universe cracking open and plunging him and everyone in it into an abyss of doom would’ve been a much better fate, instead he was here asking his best frien
Chapter Twenty—Flowers, so many flowers. There were flowers on the desk the next morning when Gianna stepped into the office again. Daffodils. No note, just like the first time. Just flowers placed carefully on her desk. The first time was a minor which she brushed off, now she was starting to get agitated. As usual, she paced back and forth in her office, whilst biting her fingers. It was only a matter of time before her nailbed was crushed to shreds. Aiden stared at her intently. She was in a state of panic, he couldn’t help but witness how good she looked in a pinstripe suit. It was a major change from the Gianna he knew three years ago. He remembered it all too well. How she managed to charm his father into investing in a so called startup company she was passionate about. He could remember how smitten he was by her, a shy and timid woman who walked past him and charmed his father in a matter of minutes—he knew that, his father wasn’t a man who was easily s
