“Good! A pathetic soul like you should just do as they’re told.” He spat, and the second he let go, I fell to the floor, gasping for air.He turned to leave, and that’s when I blurted it out. “I can’t do this anymore. I want out. Give me what you owe me, and you’ll never see me again.”
He stopped and turned to look at me, a nasty smile on his face. “I owe you sweet nothing, so leaving me means you’ll be on the streets.” He said and walked out the door.
I struggled to get to my room, his words going round and round in my head. Turns out I’ve been played all these years, but what was the point?
I grabbed my phone and called my best friend, Mia. She still works with the company, so I was sure she could help me get some money so I could get out of this mess.
Her phone rang, but she didn’t pick up. I didn’t know if I should be worried, so I called again and again, but nothing.
Giving up, I sat on my bed, trying to think when my phone rang again. I rushed to get it, but it was my ex-manager, Sia, not Mia. I sighed and answered. “I’m done, Sia!” I cried.
“Are you okay? I’ll be there in a few. Just hold on.” Her worried voice came through the phone. I waited for a bit until I heard the doorbell. I ran to open the door, and there was Sia, waving at me. The second she saw the marks on my face, she changed. “Sharon, what happened to you?” She asked, pulling me to the sofa and looking me over. She took out my dress and saw the marks gracing my skin and then she studied my entire body. I moved according to her hand command, looking as helpless as I was. “No, no, no! Please tell me it’s not what I think.” She said, almost crying.
“It’s everything you’re thinking. I can’t do this anymore, Sia. I feel like I’ve tried my best, but it’s just not working,” I told her, tears streaming down my face.
“What do you mean? Girl, you can do this. You’re strong.”
“With no money?” I asked her. “He’s taken everything. I’m surprised you didn’t know.”
“No, girl, I’m surprised he did the same to you.” She said.
I froze.
“What do you mean?” I was so confused.
“I mean, that monster of a boss has refused to pay me what he owes me as your ex-manager, but that’s not my problem because my little business is doing great,” she said. “You mean you have nothing to help you leave this hellhole, though?” She asked, and I sighed and shook my head.
Just when she was about to give me some advice, the living room door was kicked open, scaring us both. We jumped up, thinking we were being robbed, but it was James, walking in all angry. My heart started racing, wondering why he looked like he was ready to kill. He walked towards us, pulled me off the sofa, and threw me to the floor with Sia right there.
Sia looked at me, shocked and almost crying. She rushed to me, trying to make sure I didn’t fall. “Boss, stop it!” She shouted as she tried to help me.
“What have you turned my house into, huh? What makes you think you can bring another tramp into my house?” He shouted at the top of his voice. I stared at Sia, feeling worried as hell. Her face didn’t look good either. I could tell she was barely in this situation.
“Who’s a tramp, James? You know her. This is Sia,” I tried to explain when he turned to Sia.
“I want you out of my house, or I’ll call the police on you,” he said to her, and she glared at him.
She was stunned for a moment, and then the shock left her face the next minute and was replaced by a look of disgust.“I bet you wouldn’t want the police to see what Sharon looks like now,” she said, and I felt my heart sink. I looked at her, scared. I couldn’t believe she was standing up to him. No one dared to ever do that for me.
“This girl gave up her life for you, and this is how you treat her? She gave up her career for you. Why can’t you see how much she loves you and just treat her right? Weren’t you raised with any love?” She scolded him, grabbed her bag, and walked out, leaving me there.
James turned to me, looking at me with pure hate.
At that point, I felt like I was already dead. I couldn’t do this anymore. “James, I’m sorry she spoke to you like that. I would never tell her to do that to you,” I begged, hoping he wouldn’t hurt me, and when I thought he was going to attack me, he just walked past quietly, and that made me even more scared.
I got up from the floor and ran to my room, wondering what he was thinking. I didn’t dare sit on my bed because I was scared he would attack me, and soon, night came.
Seeing as he hadn’t hit me yet, I thought he was letting it go, so I lay on my bed and went to sleep after making sure my door was locked.
11 pm. That alluring night!I heard the door being opened from the outside and felt my whole body shake. I managed to open my eyes a bit and saw him walk into my room. I looked at his hands, and there was nothing in them, so I felt a bit better, but I was still tense.
This man was predictable and the thought of what he was capable of was thick within me. I could never forget him in a hurry.
I was waiting for a blow or a kick, but none came after some seconds.
Then, he was all over me, and that’s when I calmed down a bit, thinking he wasn’t going to hit me that night. “How sexy!” I heard him say, and then I felt his hands all over my legs as he reached for my underwear.
I jumped and got up fast. “James? You should be sleeping in your own room,” I said, slowly moving back, trying to get away.
He gave me that nasty smile and came closer. “I should be, but I want you tonight.”
~SHARON“Where are you?” Xavier’s voice was laced with a concern that made my heart flutter. It was as if he genuinely needed me. I told him my location, and within what felt like a heartbeat, a Rolls Royce purred to a stop in front of me. The window glided down, revealing his face. “Come,” he simply said, and I practically dove into the car, hugging him tightly, tears streaming down my face.“Just take me in, Xavier! I wouldn’t even mind being your pet, or even your slave,” I blurted out, the words tumbling from my lips in a rush. Surprise flickered across his features. “What a serendipitous coincidence! I have until tomorrow to find a wife. Will you marry me, Miss Sharon Miles, and become my Mrs.?” He asked, and I sat there, utterly gobsmacked.“Yes, I will!” I replied without hesitation, hugging him even tighter.“Shall we head home now, Master?” A voice cut through the moment, and I realized, with a jolt, that someone else was in the car. I instantly straightened up, feeling a b
~SHARONI pushed back a bit, and he grinned like a devil. “Is this how you want to get married? You’ll never be a wife,” he spat, grabbing my arm hard.I looked up at him, stumbling, wondering what he was going to do. He dragged me to my room and threw me to the floor, took out all the keys that could open the door, and locked me in. Shocked, I rushed to the door, banging on it. “James, I have a life to live! I can’t be locked in here again, please!” I shouted, hoping he would hear me, really hear me. “You have no life, and that’s why you’ll be in there for three days. No food, no water,” he spat, and I heard him walking away, his steps echoing.I sat on the floor, feeling like I’d lost. I touched my stomach. “I hadn’t eaten the night before, and now I have to go three days without food or water. How am I going to do this?” I thought, and lay on the floor, and in minutes, I fell asleep.I woke up loads of times, moving around because I was so uncomfortable. At some point, I took off
~SHARONGoosebumps ran all over me. How could I give my body to the person who hurt me? “I’m not in the mood,” I mumbled, and he punched me right on the head.I fell on the bed, my skull filled with aches. I tried to get my strength back, but he was still trying to force himself on me. Suddenly, I felt like I was in some battle.Something inside me snapped, and without thinking, I pushed him hard to the floor and ran out of the room.He didn’t give up and chased after me. I knew I was done for if he caught me, so I had no choice but to run from the whole house. I didn’t stop until I was in the middle of nowhere.I stopped to catch my breath, knowing he wasn’t around, and tears ran down my face. “I really can’t do this anymore,” I cried, holding my head where he had punched me.“How could a man who once said he loved me try to hurt me like this?” I thought, when a massive headache hit me. I couldn’t think straight. That punch on my head seemed to be messing me up. I looked at the road

~SHARONIt feels like ages since I skipped out of my family’s house, just so I could make my own rules and chase my dreams. It was good for a bit, you know? I didn’t just find my own strength in music and acting, but I also thought I’d found the real deal when it came to love. Sat in the living room of his massive house, I looked at James, the guy I was so into, who, lucky for me, was the top dog at the record company I was signed to. He’d asked me to come over, and I was dying to know what it was about. “Sharon, you can’t do music anymore,” he said, looking down like he was sad.“Come again?” I said, my smile fading. “You know that’s not on, right? James, I have fans now, loads of songs. All I need to do is keep making music, or I’ll just disappear. What are you even saying?” I was so confused.“Come on, babe, don’t you love me anymore? Look, I think it’s time we settled down and had kids. If you keep singing and going on tour, you won’t have time for us. Your songs are safe, trust m
