7. Grandma

My tears fell as I touched my Grandmother’s face. It’s a priceless happiness that money can’t buy whenever I see her.

“Why are you crying, Quinn? Is there anything wrong with you, my baby?” Her shaky hand touches my hand.

I weakly shake my head. “I-I’m just happy that I see you, Grandma. I miss you so much.” I hugged her tighter and buried my face in her shoulder. I love her scent. It reminds me of my mother.

“Quinn. . .” She sighs while stroking the strand of my hair using her finger. I dried my tears and put on my best smile. I don’t want her to worry about me. I need my Grandmother to get better so that I can continue living.

“My baby… I can’t wait for us to go on a picnic. Pick some dandelion flowers, and blow it seed. The seeds were like balloons flying up to heaven,” in her brightest smile.

“Sure, Grandma. We will do that. We can play all day long—just you and me. We can dance, eat and play. We will do that, Grandma. Just get better, okay?”
