I sat in the restaurant, fork in the air, watching the steam from my food rise. My mind was blank. The soft lighting in the restaurant made everything seem simpler than it was. My father sat across from me with Claudia by his side. She had that smile on her face I hated, like we share a secret. Funny how I hadn’t given her a second thought since I got back with Alex……hopefully she had come to her senses and gotten over the weird attraction she has for me.
