The flight to Eldoria was long, but I barely slept at all. I kept my hand on my stomach. With each bump of the plane, I held my breath, reassuring the babies inside me that it would be all right.

Grandfather sat beside me, serene as ever. He was wearing his glasses, and he had a stack of papers in front of him. He was even doing some work on a flight.

Grandfather," I spoke quietly. "Do you ever cease reading?"

He removed his glasses a little, gazing at me. "Do you ever stop fretting?"

I looked down hastily. "I can't help it."

He sighed and laid the papers down. "Zephyrine, you must rest. Your body belongs to more than just yourself now."

"I know," I breathed.

He reached over and covered my hand with his. "We're going to Eldoria to start anew. You're going to study; you're going to learn; and you're going to get ready. That's all you need to concern yourself with for now."

I nodded, trying to push away the storm of memories from Aurelia.

---

When we reached Eldoria, the air felt different—darker, crisper. Grandfather's vehicle was waiting for us. We drove through the city, smooth glass towers looming on either side, with older stone buildings in between that gave the city character.

"Eldoria is older than Aurelia," Grandfather told us as the vehicle glided through the streets. "But don't be deceived. Their universities are more advanced, their businesses tougher. This won't be a walkover for you."

I clasped my hands in front of me. "I'll be fine."

"I know you will," he replied.

---

I met with someone in the Hale estate in Eldoria. He was already in the grand hall, standing tall in black attire.

"Zephyrine," Grandfather told me, "this is Adrian Knight. He has worked for me for a very long time. He will take care of you here."

Adrian smiled pleasantly at me. Sharp gray eyes regarded me steadily, but his voice was gentle when he added, "It's an honor to finally meet you. Your grandfather speaks of you a good deal."

I fidgeted uncomfortably. "I… hope he says good things about me."

Adrian smiled again, more widely this time. "He does. And I'll do my best to serve you while you're here."

Grandfather nodded. "Adrian will drive you to the university, and he will assist you with the Hale business connections. In case you need to know something, look him up."

"Yes, Grandfather," I said.

Adrian bowed briefly, then, in a low voice, "If anything whatsoever is needed, you can call me directly. Even something simple as groceries."

I smiled faintly. "Thank you. That's very thoughtful."

---

The first week of Eldoria was a whirlwind. Between unpacking, orientation, and my grandfather's round-the-clock instructing, I barely had time to breathe.

I was sitting with Adrian in the university cafeteria one day after our morning class. He was stirring his coffee when he said, "So, how are you finding Eldoria so far?"

"Cold," I replied, hugging my sweater.

He chuckled. "You'll grow to like it. The winters here are tougher."

I scrunched up my face. "That's not reassuring."

He smiled. "You'll be all right. You're stronger than you think."

I didn't know what to say, so I just looked at my sandwich.

---

Grandfather took me to his private doctor that afternoon. The clinic was small but neat, and the doctor was an older woman with kind eyes.

"Zephyrine," she said warmly, "your grandfather has told me all about it. Let's do a check-up."

I shook my head nervously.

The doctor smiled when she finished the examination. "The babies are healthy. All three."

I bristled. "Three?"

My grandfather had told me before but I didn't believe

"Yes," she told me with a gentle smile. "Triplets. It won't be easy, but you're strong. You can do this."

My heart tightened. "Three babies."

Grandfather was severe but proud. "Then we prepare for three."

I nodded quickly, my hand on my belly. Hope flickered in me for the first time in weeks.

---

Days passed by with lessons, business lessons, and relentless reading. Adrian was always there, walking me through campus or carrying my books. He asked me questions every so often, my thoughts on business models or international markets, but he never pushed too hard.

He caught up to me one evening, gazing out at the university gardens.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked.

I shook my head. "Nothing significant."

"Still," he urged softly, "I want to know.".

I hesitated before I talked, "I was just considering how it could have been. if I had done things otherwise."

He looked at me for a moment, then explained, "The past does not equal you. What you do today does."

I looked away, not responding.

---

The tension increased in the next week. My classes were demanding, and my grandfather made sure I attended business classes in the evenings. My body hurt, my head pounding relentlessly.

While in one afternoon class, I felt my eyes blur. I massaged my head, trying to focus on the professor's voice, but everything felt thick. My hands trembled as I held my notebook.

"Zephyrine?" Adrian leaned by my side. "Are you okay?

"Okay, I'm fine," I mouthed back. But my voice was weak.

When I tried to stand up from class, the room whirled. My knees gave way. I felt arms catch me just before I fell to the floor.

"Zephyrine!" Adrian's voice was tight with worry.

The world went dark, but I could hear my own voice slip out before I fainted.

".Callum."

  • The Billionaire's Forgotten Wife   The Homecoming

POV: ZephyrineThe drive from the airport felt too long. Even though I’d spent most of my life in Aurelia, coming back now felt strange. The city looked the same — tall buildings, traffic, people everywhere — but it wasn’t the same for me. Not after everything.Isla was sitting beside me, her face pressed against the car window. “Mom, is this where you were born?”“Yes, sweetheart,” I said softly, brushing a strand of hair from her face.Julian leaned forward from his seat. “It’s noisy here.”Edmund chuckled from the front. “That’s how Aurelia always is. You’ll get used to it, little man.”Xavier, the quietest of the three, was holding his stuffed fox tightly. “I don’t like it,” he said quietly.I looked at him through the mirror. His voice was small, tired. He’d been weak lately — the doctors said it was just exhaustion, but I worried anyway. “It’s alright, love. You’ll like the house when you see it.”Adrian, who sat beside Edmund, turned slightly and smiled. “It’s a big place, Xavi

  • The Billionaire's Forgotten Wife   The time skip

Five years later. The Hale estate was quiet that morning, except for the sound of laughter coming from the living room. Zephyrine stood by the door, watching as the triplets argued over who got to hold the crayon box first.“Xavier, let your sister use it,” she said patiently.“But she used the red already!” he protested, holding it tightly.Isla rolled her eyes. “You can’t even draw straight lines.”“I can too!”Zephyrine sighed, walking over to collect the crayon box herself. “Alright, enough. You’ll all share. Ten minutes each.”Jillian giggled. “Mom, he’s making the dragon look like a chicken.”“Because chickens can fly too,” Xavier said proudly. The tutor, Ms. Bennett, smiled awkwardly from her seat. “They were well-behaved today, Lady Zephyrine. Just a little… energetic.”“That’s every day,” Zephyrine replied, smiling faintly as she walked her to the door. “Thank you, Ms. Bennett. Same time tomorrow?”“Yes, of course. Have a good afternoon.”Once the tutor left, Zephyrine turned

  • The Billionaire's Forgotten Wife   Callum's Retreat

POV: Callum (Aurelia)The plane landed in Aurelia in the late afternoon, but I barely noticed the view outside the window. My mind was fixated on the same thing for what had to have been hours already: Adrian's fist across my cheek, Edmund's cold tone telling me to go back to Evangeline, and Zephyrine's silent glares that followed me everywhere.By the time I stepped out of the airport, my jaw ached. I massaged the side of my face and winced. The waiting driver saw that."Bumpy ride, sir?" he inquired."Just drive," I growled, climbing into the back seat.. Aurelia was as always, the skyscrapers and crowded streets flashing by, but I couldn't help but feel that I came back smaller than when I left. When we pulled up to my building, the doorman smiled at me. I nodded but did not engage in small talk. I simply wanted quiet.I stepped inside, set my bag on the floor, and proceeded to my office. Papers I had left on the desk were piled high, and the screen of my laptop flashed with messag

  • The Billionaire's Forgotten Wife   Zephyrine's Decision

POV: Zephyrine (Eldoria)I was in the sitting room, trying to read through a file of documents Adrian had given me the day before, when the door opened. Edmund came in with Adrian right behind him. The look on both their faces told me this was not a social visit."Set that aside for the time being," Edmund said, waving at the papers in my lap. "We need to discuss something."I laid the folder aside gently. "Is everything all right?"Adrian sat down opposite me, forward on the edge of his chair with his elbows on his knees. "Callum came yesterday. Grandfather had a meeting with him."I held my breath. "He came here? Why?Edmund rested both hands on the hilt of his cane. "Why do you think? A man like that never learns to let go. He wanted answers. Maybe he just wanted to convince himself he still had a place.""What did you tell him?" I asked, my voice tighter than I expected."The truth," Edmund said. "That he's finished here. That he should crawl back to that mistress he favored and l

  • The Billionaire's Forgotten Wife   Shattered Pride

POV: CallumMy jaw throbbed as I stood up. There was blood stuck in my mouth, and pride burned fiercer than the punch. Adrian's punch had landed hard, but it was the look on his face, that I wasn't worth the air he occupied — that cut deeper.Edmund tapped his cane on the ground. "You heard me, boy. This is done. Leave her alone."I rubbed the corner of my mouth and forced my voice tone. "You can't tell me what to do."Adrian stepped closer, his face hardening. "I can. And I just did. If you get anywhere near Zephyrine again, you'll have to deal with me first."I clenched my fists but didn't swing. I was hurting to, but I knew they'd love it when I lost my cool. I forced myself towards the door."Callum," Edmund's voice came behind me. "Men like you don't get second chances. You got your chance. Be grateful you're walking away with a bruise."I stopped in the doorway and faced him. "You think you know, but you don't. You don't know what happened between us."Edmund shook his head. "I

  • The Billionaire's Forgotten Wife   The Warning (Eldoria)

POV: CallumI didn't have much sleep following the gala. Every time I dozed off, Zephyrine's words echoed within my mind. I'm finally living — without you. The manner she said it, calming and serious, as if she had erased me from life.I stayed behind in Eldoria instead of boarding my return flight to Aurelia. Something within me simply couldn't leave. I justified it as business, but I knew better.Later in the morning, a man clad in grey suit showed up at my hotel. He handed me a card with little expression."Mr. Bronson," he said to me, "Mr. Edmund Hale has requested your presence. The address is on the card here. He requested that it be kept confidential."I examined the card. Private club, high-class, the sort only the richest families could enter without remorse. My gut tightened. I knew, Edmund Hale would come for me.When I arrived, an attendant escorted me down a hallway with slick wood and gold accents. The place reeked of old money and cigar. They brought me into a serene lo
