Chapter Thirty-four

The cheerleaders are standing in the field two days later to vote for their new head-cheerleader. The previous day's nominations had declared Annie, Bianca, Carrie and a grade ten student named Brittany the final candidates. While Bianca viewed the election as a competition and had been walking around all day asking people to vote for her, Annie and Carrie felt totally unbothered.

"Okay I want Annie, Bianca, Carrie and Brittany to stand in a straight horizontal line", their coach orders and they act accordingly. "Now all those voting for them should just stand behind them", she commands and everyone starts choosing places.

When they are done, Maddie and other grade twelve students who were on the team count the number of people who stood behind each contestant. Grade twelve students were not allowed to vote, they could only participate in nomination.
