Katherine The streets shone bright with lights that dazzled every corner we turned, we were greeted with a beehive of activities, the city was alive before our very eyes. I never pictured myself in the streets of Paris with Shawn Blackwell… never in a thousand years, but when he suggested we go on our honeymoon, I thought to myself…. What could go wrong?! To be honest at first I thought he was completely crazy, but when he explained the reason behind the plan to me, I just had to do it. I had never left the borders of our little town, the succor it provided was a comfort I was not ready to let go of…. Until Shawn came into my life. Strangely though we walked the street with our hands interlocked, hearts giddy from the amazing sight before us, apparently the city of love brought out something in us I never knew existed. We were not sworn enemies, we weren't friends either, but we were legally married and for now that was enough. "This is beautiful isn't it?" He asked as he loo
Shawn's pov"Get off me," I growled as I loosened her tight grip from my body. Her strong perfume almost suffocated me during the short time she got a hold on me. I made sure I created enough space between her and me. Her face caked with makeup had a disappointed look but I didn't care. She looked just as she did in the photo I saw, the only difference was that she was more annoying and fake looking in real life. "Ouch, that hurts my feelings darling," she smirked as she placed her hand with the longest artificial nails I have ever seen lightly over her heart. She was a drama queen, but I knew her type already, she was exactly like all the countless number of spoiled rich brats that I have dated, still there was something dangerous about her…. The Anthonys were not known for their kindness. "What are you doing here?" I demanded. She gave me a look like I was out of my mind, meanwhile she was the only one acting crazy here. I glanced at Katherine who had been quiet since we saw I
Katherine It has now become customary for Shawn to take me to my classes and pick me up when I'm done with classes. If for any reason he was unable to fulfill his royal duties, then one of his men was always available to fill in that particular duty. Don't get me wrong, it feels great sometimes to be treated like a literal princess, but life was far from perfect for the both of us. For starters his "supposed wife" was still living with us and her annoying screeching voice seemed like an andless torture day and night. She was everywhere! A tiny part of me still did not understand why she chose to stay, even when Shawn had made it quite clear that the chances of them getting married could be compared to the chances of money literally growing from trees. She made it her constant duty to mock me every chance she got, but I found her circumstances more pitiable so her taunts never held any water. Still, she was a real thorn in the flesh and she knew that! "Hey Katherine, wait up!"
ShawnI lost it! The moment I saw that creep place a hand on Katherine, everything I saw was red. I wanted to beat the shit out of him for even daring to lay a finger on my bride, but I tried to play it cool because Katherine was there, I didn't want her to know how much of a monster I could be. Still that punch was inevitable, the guy was literally asking for it! I could not believe that someone as low in ranks as Nathaniel could even fathom the idea of talking to my wife. I knew of him and his sycophant family. They basically worshiped the Anthonys and were at their beck and call. The rich in this town ran a tight circle and someone like him wasn't even worthy to call an adversary. I looked across at Katherine who had been quiet since I came into the car, she looked pale and tired. All this while she had avoided my eyes and focused her gaze straight ahead, apparently there was something so spectacular ahead of us that only she could see. "So are we going to talk about what just
Katherine's POVThe air was particularly gloomy this morning. It rained earlier so the weather still had this mixture of rain soaked sand that feels nice but also smells like it could suffocate you at the same time. There was a nearby church bell ringing somewhere not too far away… it sounded like something terrible had just happened, like it was announcing the dreadful passing away of special people. The town was especially quiet, like everyone felt like any noise they made would be considered an abomination. Everything seemed like it was in black and white. Even the little children could not be heard kicking their balls, making up songs and stories or whatever kept them jolly. Everything was on stand still, especially for Katherine Paul, who laid on her little bed and wished for this day to just pass her by. I thought the worse had come and gone, until days like this reminded me that I would never be the same again, that there was no way that I could be okay. I could hear my lit
Shawn's POVI never liked cemeteries, it reminded me of the worst time of my life, when the person I cherished the most was taken away from me and as I stood there watching the funeral of the Pauls I could not help but feel genuinely sad for them. Freddie's mum was like a mother to me. She was always so kind and loving and never quick to judge. She worked with us even after my mum died and I was grateful to have someone like her in my life. However when dad remarried, the new wife, Angela, did not get along well with her and made her leave. I was angry when she left but there was very little I could do to stop it, I was just a child after all. Still I managed to form a bond with Freddie, her younger child and we have been close since then. He was like the brother I never had and I really cherished our relationship. He was quite mature for his age but I would never tell him that, I preferred to taunt his very existence every time I saw him. I was surprised at the overwhelming sadn
Shawn's POVI got out from my beautiful black baby…. And by that I mean my gorgeous Bentley car, to behold the mansion that held so many bittersweet memories. It was truly a sight to behold, majestic in every way. Once upon a time I called this my home and it was for a while when my mother was still alive and the house was filled with boisterous little children and smiling parents. Back then Freddie and Katherine were the only playmates I had and their mum never treated me differently especially because of my father's wealth. She even had a very close relationship with my mum and I knew her death affected her greatly, well at least now they are both in someplace better than this. Now this mansion was nothing more than just bricks and wood to me. It still looked elegant and beautiful, making everything around it seem small and insignificant. The flowers around the building were meticulously trimmed but it looked dull, like it lacked any soul or passion, just like a sad work of art.
Katherine's POVHe was a shocker alright! Still 10 million was way more than I needed, how could he just give away that much money just like that?! Yes he was a billionaire but I didn't peg him as the extravagant type. This was the first time that I have seen this amount of money in my account. Truth be told, I almost fainted when I saw the alert and at first I wondered where on earth it came from. Then I remembered Shawn Blackwell and it all made sense. When he said he wanted to help me out I didn't know that he was trying to buy me off. How could I repay something this huge! I needed the money though, I was so deep in debts from every corner but I didn't want to owe this man so much! I had to let him know that this was too much. Don't get me wrong I was tempted to accept this insane amount of money and never have to worry about a thing again in my life but Shawn's words kept ringing in my ears.. "A favour that I can not refuse," he said. Considering how evil he was I could no
