Chapter 9

Rachel’s POV

I never imagined I could talk back to J like that. My mind raced so fast it felt like it would burst out of my chest as I walked away from him. I could hear him growl in anger, but I didn’t turn back. I knew if I turned back, I could break down in front of him.

He was the one doing me a favor, not the other way around. He was trying to help me escape from my world—from my father. Even if his family found out I wasn’t Ellien, I could literally drop dead. Curing him was just a way of showing my appreciation.

I sighed deeply. But showing appreciation doesn’t mean J could treat me however he wants. Just because I’m hated by my father doesn’t mean I should be treated like trash by him.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps approaching. Mr. Frank and Jeffery walked out of a room.

“I’ll try to talk to the lawyer about it,” Jeffery said, and Mr. Frank nodded firmly.

“So what about J? Have you seen him?” Mr. Frank asked, his eyes scanning around.

“Well…” Jeffery cleared his throat

Chapter 11J’s POVThe sun’s rays that ran across my face immediately dragged me from sleep. With my eyes still closed, I grunted and rolled to the other side of the bed. I was daydreaming about my early days with Mira—how peaceful everything was, without chaos, without my grandfather’s nagging, and without all the arranged marriages. We were free. Totally free, like birds in the sky.Suddenly, my foot brushed against another pair of legs on the bed. My eyes flew open, and I stared up at the ceiling. I clearly remembered leaving Mira’s apartment after our fight—after she asked me to leave in tears. Did... did she follow me home?I immediately turned to the figure beside me. Her face was covered with the sheet, and all I could see were her neat, white legs. In a hurry, I moved closer, leaning toward her and whispering, “I’m sorry, I...”I gently pulled the sheet off her face, expecting to see Mira. But I froze. It wasn’t Mira. It was Ellien.A deep frown etched across my forehead. With

Chapter 10Rachel’s POVI blinked, my mind still focused on Jeffery’s words. I couldn’t really understand what he meant, but I didn’t ask further. I had the urge to stare into his head and use my power to discover his true desire in that moment, but I held back. What if I ended up seeing something unexpected—like with J?Jeffery suddenly got a call and stepped away to answer it. Since it was taking longer than I expected—and it was already late—I decided to return to the room. I was exhausted. All I wanted was to lie down and have a good night’s sleep.Since I had no personal room at the moment, I ended up in J’s room again. I sighed, worried about the fuss he’d make if he came back and found me there. But I was too sleepy to care. I didn’t even bother changing into my pajamas, I simply turned off the light and lay on his bed.Suddenly, the door burst open and someone staggered in. Knowing it could only be J, I jumped out of the bed, trembling a little in fear.Since he had stormed ou

  • The Billionaire’s Little Monster   Chapter Eight

Chapter 8J’s POVI wasn’t surprised to catch her flirting with another man right under my nose.“So let me get this straight.” I scoffed, watching her like a hawk. “You were supposed to be in your room, learning about the family rites and morals, but instead, you’re here flirting with another man?”I couldn’t hide my disgust. That was exactly what disgusted me about gold diggers: their audacity.“J, it’s not what you think, she—” Jeffery tried to cut in, but I stopped him cold with a glare that could burn.“You should stay out of this,” I barked, my voice low but sharp. “I’m talking to my wife.”“I know she’s your wife, and that’s why I’m trying to explain things to you,” Jeffery said, breathing deeply like he was the calmest person in the room—as usual. But I wasn’t having any of his pretense this time.“And do you think I care about your made-up explanation?” I snapped, smiling bitterly.“Don’t you think you’re being unreasonable here?” he suddenly scoffed.“Unreasonable?” I repeat

  • The Billionaire’s Little Monster   Chapter seven

Chapter 7Since it was J’s grandfather's order, I was forced to move into J’s room. Left with no choice, I stepped into the same room where I had first met him, the same room where we struck our first deal. The room held too many memories in the Charlton house for me.I sighed and sat at the edge of the bed, just like I had quietly done on our wedding night. It had been over two hours since J stormed out of the dining room, but he still hadn’t returned. I had thought he had retired to his room, but there was no sign of him. My eyes felt heavy, but I wanted to wait for him to return. Still, sleep eventually swallowed me.Suddenly, I felt a light tap on my legs. I realized I had fallen asleep on J’s bed. Rubbing my eyes, I slowly sat up, only to be met with J’s dangerous stare. He looked furious—his expression dark and piercing. After all, he had made it clear that he hated anyone in his space. But this wasn’t my fault either. I didn’t want this. I didn’t want to be near him. But just l

Chapter 6The room was closing up on me, and I could hardly breathe anymore. Mr. Frank's attention was focused on me, and I was expected to say something.“Not everyone keeps track of old men they’ve met,” J suddenly butted in.I froze at those words.I looked at J in confusion. I didn’t ask him to put me into more trouble.I turned to Mr. Frank, trying to explain. “It’s not like that, it’s not what you think, grandfather.”Mr. Frank cleared his throat but didn’t say anything further. I bit my lower lip, silently blaming myself for turning to J for help. But what stunned me most was the fact that he actually had helped.Dinner was served by the maids, and we all ate in silence. The only sounds that filled the room were the clanking of cutlery against the expensive dishware.“I heard you left in the middle of the consummation last night, Jay,” Mr. Frank began, his gaze fixed perfectly on J, who didn’t even bother to look up.J scoffed. “Are you stalking me now?”“It was supposed to be

  • The Billionaire’s Little Monster   Chapter Five

Chapter 5The housekeeper helped me settle into my new room. It looked much better compared to the one I lived in at my father’s house. There was an outer space where I could relax and gather my thoughts. The transparent wall offered a kind view of the garden and a large pool just a little ways off.“This will be your room,” the housekeeper said at last. “I’ll ask some maids to shop for new clothes for you.”“That won’t be necessary. This is enough,” I replied, pointing to the small amount of luggage Ellien had graciously packed for me.She looked at me, a little surprised. “J’s grandfather insisted on it.”Her stern expression made me nod in agreement. I had heard many rumors about J’s grandfather—and none of them were nice. I knew better than to disobey his orders.Once the housekeeper left, I lay on the bed, my eyes scanning the entire room. In the blink of an eye, I had married the deadliest man connected to J, and in mere minutes, I had struck a deal with him.My mind reeled at t

It was the housekeeper."You’ve been summoned by Sir J," she informed me politely.Summoned? When I stepped into his study, I found him dressed differently from last night. Which meant... he never returned to the room after he left.Did he sleep elsewhere? Or did he stay outside the mansion e

By thirty, I was a success story. Running five thriving companies. But I was also a disappointment in one area. Marriage. I had Four failed engagements — all arranged by my grandfather. And every single one? I ruined them myself. I had a method. Dig up dirt on my so-called bride. Expose them. Walk away. When my grandfather announced my fourth engagement, I wasn’t surprised. I’d been expecting it. And as usual, I started digging trying to find what to use against her. But this time... it was different. It wasn’t easy. She was clean. Too clean. No scandals. No abortions. Since then I starte
