CHAPTER 4
Yza was walking down the hallway towards Adam's room after coming home from the hospital around six in the evening. The result of her CT scan was okay, and her grandmother needed her attention, so she was going to collect the cash her boss had mentioned. It was likely that the young man had already left since he had mentioned going to another country. That's probably why he left the hospital without saying goodbye, in such a hurry. After that, another nurse came to take her for some tests, and DJ accompanied her for a few hours. They chatted during that time. Then, one of Adam's men came to fetch her. DJ insisted on being the one to take her home, but Adam's employee was adamant about following his boss' orders that no one else should pick her up except for Adam's staff. She wasn't seriously hurt, but, of course, she followed her employer's instructions. Her face was reddened from the slaps she received, and she had bruises on her arms and neck. She acknowledged that it wasn't a simple matter. No one had ever hurt her before, and it was the first time she had such injuries on her body. She held her old basic phone and texted her friend Tiffany about the defense they would be preparing for. She paused for a moment, sent her message, and then pushed open the unlocked door to Adam's room. To her shock, she found a naked woman on the bed, engaging in explicit activities with her equally naked boss, who was leaning against the headboard with his eyes closed. The woman was nibbling on his red lips and making sounds as if she was savoring something. Adam looked incredibly handsome, but why was he so bossy? Her eyes fixed on the woman who was in a compromising position, revealing her entire backside, even the fold, and, yes, even the hole. Oh my goodness! Her mouth nearly said something inappropriate instead of her eyes. The woman was pleasuring the man orally, and she had her head in her hands as she vigorously performed the act. His torso moved erotically as the woman continued the motion. "Damn it! Ahhh! Suck it good!" he ordered with excitement, and the woman intensified her efforts, causing the young man to moan in pleasure. Yza accidentally dropped her phone, drawing the attention of both of them as the phone hit the floor with a loud noise. The young man's eyes widened due to the noise she made. Her mouth hung open, a reaction to the unexpected scene. She rushed to the door, clutching her chest and panting because she had seen something she shouldn't have. "Yza, why are you out of breath, dear?" her grandmother asked, opening her eyes a bit. She looked at her grandmother and swallowed hard. "W-What, grandma? I-I have something—ahem,” she said nervously, unable to find the right words to say. She saw a snake, but it wasn't just any snake. It was her boss's massive member, his Anaconda. She was on the verge of a heart attack from the shock. She had never seen anything like it, but why was it so huge? And why did she feel fear from her employer's massive snake? "What snake? You should have called Adam's staff to kill it," her grandmother said, gasping for breath as well. Both of them were now struggling to breathe. Her grandmother was due to fear, and hers was because of Adam's snake. "N-No, grandma, it can't be killed. It's big, grandma. Really big," she bit her finger and started pacing back and forth. She couldn't get that image out of her head. Oh my goodness! She couldn't get the massive snake attached to the body of such a handsome man out of her mind. Why was she feeling admiration for a naked man engaged in sexual activity after seeing his strange facial expressions with his eyes closed? She wasn't stupid, and she knew it was sex. That's what it was. What's wrong with you, Yza? Those closed eyes and parted lips, as if in a trance over something earthly, added to the allure of her perverted boss. She never expected that an innocent girl like her would be fascinated by a naked man having sex. Holy smokes! She sat on the edge of her grandmother's cot. "Grandma, perform a ritual for me. I might get a fever, Grandma," she said, shaking her grandmother's arm. The elderly woman frowned. "What's the matter, child? It's nothing now. The snake is gone. Don't tell me you think it's an enchantment or maybe an earth spirit." She looked at her. "Where did you see it?" She gazed at the door. "Th-The room of M-Master…” she said weakly, her finger in her mouth. "What? How would a snake get up there? The stairs are too steep and have three turns. It might even be a evil spirit. Go have a ritual cleansing. Go back to Laguna. You might catch a fever and your eyes might swell," her grandmother said, her brow furrowing at first. "No, it's a man's flesh, not evil. It's really big, Lola. I can't get it out of my mind. I might get a fever. It's scary, but the snake is handsome," she blurted out in a daze. Her grandmother slapped her on the arm. "I don't know what's gotten into you, child. You stop it. You seem to be losing your mind because of that blow to the head. Where have you seen a handsome snake? What is that? It might be a elf with a face," they exchanged looks. She couldn't identify it because of that. Should she tell them that their master had a woman with him, and she was the one feeding the snake? Eww! Yza touched her cheeks and shook her head, her eyes closed. Oh no! Oh no! Please, Papa Jesus, I don't want to remember Señorito Adam's snake. She bit her lip. The fear still gnawed at her chest, and despite the fear, she felt a strange admiration for her mysterious philanderer employer. Her innocent mind was battling the good looks and charm of an Adamson Rix de Lorenzo, but it couldn't be. DJ was the one she should like and love. She had only been in the mansion for a week, and that was already what she had received. How much more in two weeks' time or until her grandmother got better? What would she feel for her playboy and sex-loving employer? Wrong, Yza! Wrong! Wrong! She kept slapping herself in the face repeatedly, earning a disapproving look from her ailing grandmother. She looked worse now with her mind in shambles and with more serious illnesses than her grandmother Eli. "Stop it now. You're a child who's fallen into madness. Where do you think you're going? That's what paid for your second-semester tuition. Hurry up. Forget the snake before Adam notices you. Quick! The snake's gone. You naughty child. You're going to be the death of me," her grandmother scolded her. She sighed and glanced at the door when someone knocked. "Yza, dear, Señorito Adam is asking for you," said her older sister Cora, who worked as a laundress in the mansion. Everyone there had their own jobs. Her grandmother was in charge of cooking and cleaning the rooms, which was her job right now . Her sister Cora handled the laundry and ironing. Her sister Perla was responsible for cleaning other parts of the mansion and gardening, and her sister, Isay takes care of washing the dishes and attending to Señorito Adam's staff. So, she was swamped with cleaning her employer's room. "Yza!" Cora called her with a frown while knocking on the locked door. "H-Huh? Why is he calling me?" she asked in a bewildered manner and her grandmother pinched her waist. She flinched and winced. "Of course, he's the boss. What are you thinking, child?" her grandmother said. "He said he wants you to come to his room," Cora added. Oh no! She covered her mouth and shook her head repeatedly. "Why does he want me to go there? I don't want to!" she protested, her nervousness evident. "Just go there. Don't be shy, dear. How could you not go when he paid your tuition for the semester? Move quickly. Forget about the snake before Adam gets mad at you. Hurry up. The snake is gone. My God, child. You're going to be the death of me without warning. Hurry!" her grandmother urged, giving her a shove. She couldn't resist it. It was just a way for her grandmother to wake her up when her childish tendencies took over. "Follow me. Be a good child. How could you not go when he's the one who paid for your tuition for the semester? Forget the snake before Adam gets mad at you. Hurry up. The snake is gone. Damn child. You're going to be the death of me. Hurry!" she said, pushing Yza, who couldn't do anything but follow. She felt like she was carrying a ton of whales on each of her feet because of their weight. How did Señorito Adam pay for her tuition when they didn't even know each other? Maybe her grandmother borrowed the money. It was quite a large amount because it included the refundable f*e for the qualifying exam, which she passed, so she was waiting for it to be returned because it was worth ten thousand. It was the University's budget for those who didn't pass and had to take remedial classes. Another half a semester to learn, so it would add another year before she graduated. But she did pass, so she only had half a year left. But since she was going to have summer classes, it was only a year left. She knew where she was going to return it—her employer's room, where there was a large snake. And she had to save up for other expenses, aside from her future tuition, like her affiliation f*e next week and the seventy-five-thousand-peso f*e for the CPA board exam. DJ was willing to help her, and she agreed, even though they had an agreement to start dating after she graduated. But now, she seemed to have a crush on Señorito Adam. He was incredibly handsome, even though he seemed much older and had an intimidating presence. And now, her heart was pounding as she held onto the staircase railing. She looked at the top and seemed reluctant to climb. Maybe the woman was still up there, eating the snake again. She made the sign of the cross and touched her lips in prayer because of the nerves. She was thinking whether she should go up or hide and pretend she hadn't been called, despite Ate Cora telling her that she was needed.Yza was frozen in her seat when she heard a familiar sweet voice fill the entire function hall after the wedding."I thought I wasn’t ready, For my heart to beat again But suddenly, you came into my life…"She stared at her husband as he walked out from behind the improvised stage. He had said he was going to the bathroom, but here he was, about to sing. His eyes immediately sought her face and then showed a very light but heartwarming smile. She automatically felt very emotional. Who wouldn’t be moved if someone as handsome as him serenaded her in front of everyone on their wedding day at the church? And in fairness, his voice was beautiful. He had a hidden talent for singing, but just like his personality, it was very hidden and hard to reach. And with this Tagalog song, the first words that came out of his mouth seemed to fill her heart with love—love for her and for the two-month-old babies in her womb. Everything was given to her by God. If the challenges they went through were t
Yza furrowed her brow as the taxi driver dropped her off right in front of the condominium where she was staying, after she got out.The condominium across from AD condominium? She only learned the name of that building now, despite having lived across from it for such a long time. She walked inside and the guard greeted her with a smile. “Are you going home here, Ma’am? Not to the other side?” The guard joked, to which she just smiled. What a gossip. When did Adam start living there? Was that the new place her grandmother mentioned where her husband was staying? So, they were right across from each other? She couldn’t help but feel a little giddy at the thought that maybe Adam had been secretly watching her, out of her sight and knowledge.“I’m heading to my husband’s place,” she told the guard and showed her name tag, which he quickly looked at.“Ah, to Sir Adam. Go ahead, Ma’am. He told me that if any beautiful woman comes by, I should let her in right away.” The guard said, but it
53Yza was momentarily stunned by the woman in front of her. Her brain couldn't process the simple instruction the woman had just given her, telling her that Adam wanted her to go to the main building of the company again. What could he possibly need from her this time? She had just come from there. She had also just been here. It seemed like her husband's mind was slowly unraveling."Ma'am Yza?" The woman in front of her called out since Yza had been staring blankly for a while."H-Huh? O-Okay, I'll go," Yza replied, still not fully aware of what she was saying. She glanced at Tiffany as she sang while looking at her computer."Bring back the sweetness of love, let the heart that loves be heard again..." Tiffany sang, her shoulders shaking with the rhythm."Awwooohhh..." her friends joined in, causing Yza to laugh softly before standing up."Do I have to go, Tiffany?" Yza bit her finger nervously. She suddenly felt uneasy, thinking of facing Adam again. It reminded her of when she fi
52Yza went straight to branch five after talking to Adam, but several hours had passed, and her anger still hadn't subsided. She felt like she was going to explode from the mix of anger, jealousy, hurt, and love. She didn’t know why she felt this way, but it was as if her feet were pulling her back to the main building so she could slap him without stopping. She felt that her attempt to throw the vase there wasn’t enough.Frustrated, she bent over the desk and started crying again, so she grabbed her hair in frustration.“Are you okay, bf?” Tiffany asked her from the table across. She was surprised, but Yza shook her head repeatedly.“I’m not okay. It was so wrong for me to go to his office. I was so... disgusted. I’m angry because he didn’t say anything. He’s still closed off to me.” She started crying again and buried her head in the desk, crying quietly.“He doesn’t love me anymore. He thought that money could ease the pain I feel. He doesn’t love me anymore, Tiffany. He loves som
51The taxi window automatically rolled down as it reached the guardhouse entering the ADL Motors building—main branch."guard..." Yza said to the two guards, who immediately stood upright when they saw her face."Ma'am Elyzabeth Alexa," they said in unison, making her furrow her brows. Why did they recognize her?"Go ahead, Ma'am," the man said, so she nodded, though still confused. The driver continued driving into the driveway while smiling. When she got out at the main entrance of the building, she immediately saw a billboard with Adam’s face on it. He had that fierce look. So arrogant, yet so cowardly and childlike in his actions and decisions.Deceptive! Her head heated with anger. As she entered the building, she froze in shock upon seeing her own face on the large tarpaulins around the area. Why was her picture up there? Elyzabeth Alexa Brina-de Lorenzo, CEO of ADL Motors. What kind of nonsense is this? Her eyebrows furrowed, and it seemed like smoke was coming out of her nose
Yza was getting some fresh air on the apartment balcony. It had been months since she last did this, ever since she and Adam got married. Now that she was back in the apartment, she would often step out for some fresh air in the evenings to relax and clear her mind from overthinking.Lately, she's been very emotional and doesn't even know why. Maybe it's because she misses her husband, who seems to have completely forgotten about her.She was starting to fall into deep thought again. She was supposed to be relaxing, but stress filled her mind instead. She missed Adamson so much, and there were times when she wanted to call or text him, but she wasn’t sure if his number was still active. On top of that, she felt embarrassed. She didn’t want to seem desperate, especially since he distanced himself from her.She wasn’t proud, but she was discreet when it came to handling situations like that. She glanced at her phone again. She was looking at the only picture of Adam she had, and once ag
