Sorin immediately turned to look at me. He had a shocked expression all over his face. Even Kelvin was dumbfounded, not to talk of the Doctor and the maids who were present.

"How could you say such thing?" Sorin asked as he tried to hide his shaking hands in his pockets, but not before I saw it.

I didn't answer him, until the doctor spoke again after putting himself together.

"Why did you say that, madam?" He asked, moving closer to me.

"Why would you want to die when you already have what other people might want to kill for?" He asked.

"Well, I'm not others." I answered sharply, like one who was fed up, because, of a truth, I was completely fed up.

"As a matter of fact, they can kill me for all of this." I added as I gestured with my hands. "That would be better, at least I'll rest in peace, away from all this." I began to sob.

He paused for a while like he was in deep thoughts. He then sighed before he started speaking again.

"Can you excuse us?" He asked, facing the maids.

My phone alarm blared loudly, startling me, and I was jolted awake by the noise. It was 9am.“Uhhhh….” I groaned as I blindly tapped the alarm with my fingers, hoping to silence it, and I rolled over to the other side of the gigantic bed.Barely had I shut my eyes for a few minutes to catch some more sleep when the alarm set off again.“Nooooo…” I pulled the duvet over my head, kicking into the air.Realizing the alarm was determined to wake me up, I finally pulled the duvet off my head, picked up my yelling phone, and turned the alarm off. Exactly what I should have done in the first place; obvious solution, yet so delayed.I yawned and groggily got out of bed, still rubbing my eyes. Usually, I wouldn't wake up so late, but I guess the whole stress of the last couple of hours, coupled with some of the meds I took last night knocked me out for so long.I headed into the bathroom to brush my teeth; the first thing I did every morning before heading downstairs for breakfast. As I brushe

I didn't know why, but I didn't ask because I thought she just didn't want to think too much about being bullied by him in the past.“Now that I think about it, I realize that I was such a fool to actually be dating someone like him. Maybe I was under some kind of spell back then.” I said, not proud of myself.Anne let out a derisive snort.“You mean under a ‘love and blindness’ spell?” She teased. “To think he almost tore us apart and you still stood by him, you were definitely under a love spell.” She added, and laughed.“You're so silly.” I hit her with the back of my palm. She continued, “I believe that's the only reason why you could have stayed with him despite his excesses, and insensitivity towards others. “I think I was just immature, and also had a little sprinkle of foolishness back then.” I laughed, and continued. “...but I'm just glad I didn't end up with him. Maybe we could have killed each other.”“The stakes are high on that one, ma'am.” Anne continued to tease me, bu

Wearing my bathrobe, I sat in front of the mirror after I had freshened up. Staring absentmindedly at myself in the mirror, I had more than a million thoughts rushing through my head.“Are you okay, Drea?” Anne asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.“Yes, I'm fine.” I responded, obviously lying, but Anne caught on to that fact.“Come on, Drea. Are we back to this again?” She asked, feeling a bit exhausted.I furrowed my brows. “I don't understand. What are you talking about? I asked.“You know what I'm talking about. You keep saying you're fine when we both know you're not.” She said, stating the fact.“You keep zoning out mid-conversation.” She pointed out, and I sighed.I got up, my shoulders drooping as I walked towards her, and sat beside her on the bed.“I'm sorry for everything, Drea. I know I must have done too much. I pushed you to your limits and that was why you left the house like that, and I almost lost you forever, but I'm terribly sorry.” She began to sincerely apologize

The sound of the gunshot exploded in my ears, a deafening blast that left me reeling. My vision blurred. Time seemed to slow as I struggled to process what was happening. For a few disorienting seconds, I was lost in a haze of confusion and fear. My ears kept ringing, and my head spun. I couldn't hear anything except the piercing whine of tinnitus."Are you okay?" Sorin's voice was a distant echo, muffled and unclear. I felt his arms wrapped tightly around me, his warm breath on my face, but his words were hazy and muffled, fading in and out like an inconsistent radio signal.I tried to nod, but my head bumped against his chest. Slowly, my senses began to return. My vision cleared, and I found myself still in Sorin's embrace. I was shaking, my heart racing like a jackrabbit but his hands held me firmly, yet gently."S...Sorin?" I whispered, my voice barely audible.“Yes. I'm here.” He answered, his voice calm even though I could sense the fear in it. “Are you alright?” He asked, gen

In that split second moment of silence, I hurriedly took off my blindfold, and struggled to take off the gag.Because my eyes had been blindfolded for a while, coupled with the fact that one of my contact lenses had fallen out when Joe tried to blindfold me earlier, my vision was completely blurry and out of focus and so I couldn't see properly. Before I knew what was going on, Tim's men and the others who happened to be Mr T’s men rushed towards the broken door and an intense fight broke out.Tim's men and Mr T’s men joined forces together. There were about twelve or fifteen of them but they were fighting against just two men, who fought so smoothly. They were such experienced fighters, their skills and coordination impeccable, so much that I was amazed.Despite being outnumbered, the two men stood their ground, their defense impenetrable. They blocked every attack, waiting for openings to strike and when they did, their blows were swift, precise and merciless.Bullets whizzed past,

“Package? What package? Am I the package now?” I thought to myself, unable to believe what I had just heard him say.I couldn't question him, for fear of being shot at.After the call, Tim slowed down a bit and flung two zip ties at me, “Use these.” “Zip-tie your hands.” He ordered me, and out of fear, I immediately did as I was told, shaking as I struggled with them till I got it right. He cross-checked my hands and seeing that my hands were now well restrained, he lowered the gun, and increased the speed while I remained quiet throughout the rest of the journey. Not long after, we approached what seemed like a silent and desolate alley and soon we got to an abandoned warehouse.Tim parked the car, and pointed the gun at me again, as he warned, “Any silly move from you right now can get you killed.”“Be obedient and you'll be fine.” He added, and I nodded slowly.A young man, who I didn't recognize, came out from the back of the gigantic warehouse.“Welcome back, sir.” He greeted Ti
