Vanessa's POV

I watched from the shadows across the street as Adrian, Jennifer, and Marcus walked out of the police station. They looked worried and confused, exactly like Vincent said they would. I pulled my cap lower over my face and stepped deeper into the alley where my car was parked.

Everything was going according to plan.

I had been following them since they came to the station. Vincent had told me to keep an eye on them, to make sure they didn't figure out the truth too quickly. But watching Adrian's face now, I could tell Marcus was starting to suspect something.

That tech expert was smarter than Vincent had given him credit for.

I pulled out my phone and sent a quick text to Vincent: "They're getting suspicious about the footage. Marcus might have figured it out."

His reply came back immediately: "Don't worry. By the time they figure it out, it will be too late."
