IRIS

I woke up with a throbbing headache, the dim light filtering through the small window casting eerie shadows across the room. As I tried to sit up, I realized with a sinking feeling that I was locked in, the heavy metal door standing as a barrier between me and freedom.

My heart pounding with fear and uncertainty, I made my way to the window, hoping against hope that it might offer some means of escape. But as I peered out into the darkness, I felt a wave of despair wash over me. We were two stories up, too high for me to jump without risking serious injury.

With a sigh of resignation, I turned away from the window and began to search the room for any sign of a weapon. My hands shook as I rifled through drawers and cabinets, my mind racing with fear and desperation.
