Chapter 12

"Does it have to be him? I can drive you to Soho and wait for you too You should stop depending on him so much. I don't want to be in a marriage where it feels like you are a package deal and Nicholas comes with you," he said. Kairos stared at Nicholas like a reaper who was dying to bring him his demise while I stood in between the two of them puzzled.

I don't know about the real Rory but one thing is for sure, her brother does care for her. I on the other hand am dependent on Nicholas because there are a lot of things about Rory and her relationship with people that I am not aware like her friend Andra and all those other friend that she has. To pull this Rory Spencer for a week challenge effortlessly. I need someone by my side who knows Rory like the back of their hand and that's not Kairos.

"What the hell is wrong with him? He acts like a jealous boyfriend," I muttered under my breath once I was sure that Kairos wouldn't be able to hear those after he walked out on me and Nicholas.

"You should dress up. I told Andra that you'll be in Soho after two hours," Nicholas said and he did the owner of letting me inside of Rory's room.

To dress up for the party means memorizing Andra's circle of friends as Nicholas picks the right dress for me. He handed me his phone where he had pictures of Rory's friend as well as their basic information.

"Are you almost done with that?"

"I've read Andra's profile over and over again. I feel like her actual best friend," I said as I put her phone down on the bed.

"How about Gresya and Italia?" He asked about the Del Prado twins, "I know things or two about them. I'll be fine." I open up my palm. The excitement that I was trying so hard to contain finally found its escape from my lips and it popped into my mouth.

"What are you asking for?"

"Uh, the dress and the pair of heels that I am going to wear for my bridal shower? What did you choose? I hope you didn't choose a boring one!" I ended up squealing my excitement.

Nicholas finally showed me the dress that he picked. Exemplary of the brand's whimsical aesthetic, it's cut to a voluminous silhouette with panels of floral-print fabric, shirred detailing, and scalloped lace trims. The corner of my lips twists as my excitement fluctuates.

"I will look like a garden fairy wearing that to Soho," I muttered my dismay. Nicholas smiled and nodded his head with such contentment.

"I didn't mean it as a compliment, Nicholas. This screams boring has a wife who doesn't know how to do a proper blow job and so her husband will eventually cheat on her with his secretary!" I said grabbing the Zimmerman dress from his hand before I basically towards Rory's walk-in closet when a small voice in my head said something that made me halt my incoming footsteps and made me turn my head back to where Nicholas was standing.

My lips shook a bit as I tried to come up with ways to take back what I said about her sister. If this was already in her closet and I commented on it like that then it looks like how Nicholas viewed it from his perspective though I meant no harm.

"I-I am sorry." Just when I thought that he was offended with me. His brightest smile graced me.

"I know that you didn't mean it like that. That's just how you comment on things and your humor. It's a bit dark..."

I can't dress myself tonight in a way I would dress myself tonight if I were going to Soho as Isla because I am not at the moment. I am the youngest lady in the Spencer household and there is no way I'd make it out alive here if I ever end up tainting their daughter's precious reputation.

A romantic aesthetic is showcased in a flowy silk dress that I found in the far corner of Rory's closet and it still has the tag meaning she hasn't worn it and she must have probably forgotten about this baby. The wrap design is presented in an eye-catching cream hue for a dreamy feel.

Nicholas chose the strappy heels that I paired up with the wrap-up dress as well as the bag and now I am sitting in the shotgun seat of his Aston Martin.

"Do you want me to go inside? So I could help you out in case?" Nicholas offered to make me stare at him as soon as my ears got the hold of those words.

"Are you nuts? Is it a bridal shower? Why would you go inside? I already know who is who. I'll be fine. You hired me for this job and that means you trust me so trust me alright?" I asked him. Nicholas didn't say anything but he is now smiling at me like a fool.

I unbuckled my seatbelt and checked myself in the rear-view mirror one last time before I got out of his car.

"Rory, you are late!" The one with shoulder-length beach wave hair came up to me as soon as I was about to walk in on Soho. I stared at her from her head down her toe. In the picture that I saw from Nicholas' phone both of the twins have long hair and they are identical twins so fuck me because who is she?

Just when I was about to open my mouth. Andra and the last twin showed up. The one behind her is Italia so this one in front of me is Gresya since she has a more soft and sweeter demeanor than Italia.

"Oh my God. You two are wearing the same clothes," Gresya commented which made me glance at Andra and she was right. In the girls' world for women like Rory and Andra, this is a fucking disaster.

"I told you last week that I'd wear this one for your bridal shower."

How would I know? It was the real Rory that you said those words to and not me!

"I forgot."

"It's just a dress. No one would notice plus Rory is wearing white and yours is black," Gresya butts in on our conversation.

"I'd let this one slide. In one condition. Invite your fiance to join us drink, Rory."

My forehead knotted. It wouldn't be a bridal shower if Kairos showed up and even if that couldn't be the case maybe they celebrate a bridal shower differently. Kairos was mad at me and he won't show up here, that I am sure.
