Chapter 13

Andra smiled at me, on second thought she was smirking at me more than she was smiling. Itália's eyebrow arched up at her as if she already knew that Andra's idea was stupid.

"It's a bridal shower. This one should be about the bride and her friends which is," she said trying to change Andra's mind into making me invite Kairos to the party that she is hosting.

Andra is like the luxurious version of Veronica. They are nothing but a two-faced bitch. The only difference is that Andra wears designer clothes while Veronica on the other hand wears class A and imitation but they are both cut from the same fabric if I am being honest.

"This is the fun part, Tali. If he comes here then we'd be relieved to know that our dearest friend won't be stuck in a loveless marriage because her future husband does care about her especially if she says that she needs him in a particular place." Andra darted her eyes at me. She roamed it from my body and it stayed longer on the flowy silk dress that I was wearing.

I mentally rolled my eyes at her. If she is doing this because of this dress then she is a petty Queen. Rory got it all. Beauty, wealth, a sexy beast for a husband, and a fake best friend. There must be something wrong with her radar to have herself surrounded by this type of people.

"Stop acting like you don't know Kairos. He does not waste his time in a place like this. He'll never come even if her eyes bleed," Itália countered once more and I just realized something, aside from him being Rory's fiance. It seems like Rory's girlfriends personally know Kairos as Italia knows what he would do.

Andra glanced at me with a triumphant smile on her lips. She faked a smile like those words from Italia convinced her not to push her idea.

"Okay. Come, Ro. Your party is waiting for you."

"He'll come. He will be here in thirty minutes," I said those words in a loud and overly confident manner that made Andra stop from taking her footsteps into settling her feet inside of Soho.

"Oh my God! Tell him to bring Kio with him," Gresya urged me, and I thought it confused me for a moment because I didn't even know if Kiowass a person or if it could be a golden retriever.

I turned my back to them and walked towards the parking lot of Soho while I took my cell phone out of my bag. Nicholas already left as I told him before I left his car that I would just send him a message once we are done here.

Biting my lower lip. I searched for Kairo's number in Rory's contact list and I found him under a name saved as Kairo Maximus Lancaster. That looks like the name of a client on your phone rather than your future husband's name. Rory should have put a heard at the end of his oh-so-formal name.

With a shaking finger. The lid of my eyes closed on its own after I pressed the button to call Kairos. His phone started ringing and I put my phone next to my ears so I could hear him as soon as he answered my call but that didn't happen, instead, he declined my call and when I tried to call him the second time around. The temperamental beast has his phone off!

I gritted my teeth and stomped my feet against the cold floor of the parking lot.

I shut my eyes and breathed deeply to calm myself.

"It's just a fleeting embarrassment. After this. You won't see them again maybe in the rehearsal dinner or the actual wedding day but it wouldn't matter anymore because Kairos would be there too," I tried to convince myself before I walked inside of Soho.

Wearing a white veil and a cocktail drink on her hand. I found the three of them in a VIP room where the manager of the bar guided me to go.

"Oh, hey! Is he on his way?" Andra asked. She put her drinks down. Gresya smiled at me as she stood up and walked excitedly towards me just so she could put a white veil on my head that was way longer than the one they were wearing.

"Right. I know that you were just fooling around when you said that he'll come to celebrate with us," Andra said and I never feel so annoyed in my entire life. I thought that Veronica was the only person that is capable of irking me like this. I was wrong!

I thought I was imagining things for a moment when my nose caught a whip of Kairo's signature scent that complimented him until I felt him snaking his arm around my waist.

"Am I late? I had a hard time searching for a parking space," he said while looking directly into my eyes.

Oh my God! He is here. I can't believe that he is here saving me from embarrassment.

Get it together, Isla. He is not here for you. He is here for Rory. His fiancée.

In the corner of my eyes. I think I saw Andra's jaw lying on the floor as she could not believe her eyes.

"Now we are relieved to know that Rory won't be stuck in a loveless marriage because her future husband does care about her," Italia mumbled to mock Andra and his words from earlier.

If there is someone that the real Rory should be best friends with. It's the Del Prado twins and not Andra!

"Let me get you a drink," I told him, but to my shock. Kairos is following me around like a swoon dog.

We both stopped in front of the counter. I eyed the table where my supposed friends were and then stared at him.

"You came."

"You called," his answer was short but it was impactful enough for me to have a little crush on him, shit!
