Deceit

Eve steered the wheel to the right, coming to a halt in the parking lot.

Ensuring that her face mask and the shades were adjusted once again, and wearing a face cap which concealed her forehead, she stepped out of the car.

She had wired the money to the account her parents provided, but she couldn't bring herself to have her twin leave the country without seeing her.

Eve pulled out her phone and dialed her parents again, but none of their contacts was going through.

When she tried Hannah's and got the same result, dread filled her chest, and she took the backdoor into the hospital.

"Good day, ma'am." The security greeted her as she walked past.

Eve nodded in acknowledgement and pushed the elevator button, waiting for her turn.

But unknown to her, she wasn't the only one who had snuck into that hospital.

She was just about boarding the elevator when her phone rang.

She picked on the first ring, seeing it was Wendy, her manager.
