Doña and Elijah, along with Leah, immediately went to the OB where they would continue lying about Elijah’s pregnancy. On their way, they ran into Doc Doque’s secretary:

“Ma’am Elijah?”

“When did you arrive back in the Philippines? Does your father know you’re here?” asked one of Doc Doque’s aides.

“Ahmmm… I’m going to surprise my father. Is he here at the hospital?”

“He’s not here, Ma’am Elijah. He’s out of town. He didn’t say when he’d be back in the Philippines. Why are you here, if I may ask?”

“Uh—I’m here for a check-up. For my pregnancy.”

“Yes, so you can leave us now. We’ll go see my doctor,” Elijah told the secretary.

As soon as Elijah’s companion left, Leah immediately spoke.

“Why are you doing this to me? I don’t have enough money to pay for an expensive hospital like this. I’m leaving!” Leah protested to the two, which the secretary overheard.

But the secretary ignored it and went on her way.
